Unsurprisingly, Double Gameweek 37 players dominate in our latest Captain Poll, which was launched earlier today to gauge your views on the best armband options.

Chief among these are Tottenham Hotspur assets, who travel to bottom side West Brom on Saturday followed by a home clash with Newcastle United three days later.

Voters will be keenly watching events at Wembley tonight when Mauricio Pochettino’s troops play the final fixture of Gameweek 36 at home to Watford.

Although Harry Kane (13.0) has struggled for form, with a single FPL goal in his last six appearances, across the campaign the Spurs striker has proved to be an explosive captaincy option.

Kane has delivered eight double-digit points hauls and should gain extra motivation from his mission to overturn Mohamed Salah’s five-goal advantage in the Golden Boot race.

With six scores above 10 points Son Heung-min (8.3) is unlikely to be overlooked, particularly for the Magpies clash. The South Korean has served up nine goals and five assists in home matches.

Christian Eriksen (9.6)’s four double-digit returns makes him a less explosive option than Kane or Son. However, the Dane’s recent consistency may sway some opinion, with at least a goal or assist in four of his last five run outs, including a 15-point haul away to Stoke in Gameweek 33.

Three goals and as many assists over his last five league matches make Dele Alli (9.0) another in-form Spurs asset to consider.

The North Londoners won’t have it easy, though. Since Darren Moore took charge in early April, the Baggies are unbeaten, including a victory over Manchester United and a draw with Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Newcastle’s backline has proved miserly over their last six outings, conceding just four times, with only Liverpool shipping less (three).

Even with the league title wrapped up Manchester City’s stars are refusing to take their foot off the gas with nine goals in their last two matches as champions.

This fine recent form, as well as two favourable home ties against Huddersfield and Brighton, is already seeing considerable interest in their assets.

The Terriers have been particularly poor on the road over the season with their last clean sheet way back in Gameweek 6. Brighton have been similarly obliging, with just one shut-out in six road trips, shipping nine goals along the way.

Gabriel Jesus (10.3) is in excellent form with four goals and three assists over his last five starts. Already this week he is the most acquired player with more than 33,000 transfers in.

With 30,000+ new owners, Raheem Sterling (9.0) is the most popular midfield target and has been similarly impressive, claiming double-digit hauls in all three of his last league matches, including a hat-trick of assists in the 4-1 victory over West Ham on Sunday.

Leroy Sane (8.6)’s strike against the Hammers, his tenth of the campaign, may also garner interest and Kevin De Bruyne (10.3)’s home form should also see him earn attention. On home turf, the Belgian has supplied a high league-high number of assists (14) and chances created (62) and has also found the net five times.

Manchester United’s Paul Pogba (7.9) and Alexis Sanchez (11.5) put forward a strong case for consideration in their 2-1 home defeat of Arsenal on Sunday. The Frenchman’s goal was his sixth of the campaign and third in the last four matches. Meanwhile, Sanchez’s assist against his former employers was his fourth in as many starts, over which time he has also scored once and earned two scores of 10 points or more.

During Gameweek 37 the Red Devils travel to a Brighton side without a home clean sheet in 2018 and also drop by West Ham, who have shipped eight over their last four London Stadium matches.

Chelsea’s home tie with Huddersfield next Wednesday looks the more favourable of their encounters, arriving three days after they entertain Liverpool.

Blues assets put forward for consideration include Eden Hazard (10.5), with a goal and assist over his last two starts. Their striker Olivier Giroud (8.2) is another, given he scored a brace off the bench against Southampton in Gameweek 34.

Mohamed Salah (10.6) may only have one fixture but, with 14 double-digit hauls, the PFA Player of the Year could still generate interest.

Among the differential options is Jordan Ayew (5.3), ahead of Swansea’s must-win games against Bournemouth away and Southampton at the Liberty Stadium. Between them, the two south coast sides have shipped 16 times over their last four run outs. Meanwhile, Ayew has been involved in more than a third (36%) of all his side’s goals this season.

The poll is now live in the middle column on your homepage on desktop, or via the slide-in menu on mobile and tablet under recent comments.

Remember, we are looking for your vote for the player you think will be most effective, regardless of whether you own them or not.

We will be back to check in on progress in the poll later ahead of the Gameweek 37 deadline when we deliver our “Captain Sensible” article offering an analysis of the results and the statistics behind the leading contenders.

    Which is the best option?

    1) Eriksen and Naughton

    4) Son and Smalling

Tough. Haven't had a Vertongen clean sheet since I got him in wc.
      Still probably 2 or 3 though - don't know about Davies/Rose situation.

Ouch 🙁 feel Sorry for you! Rose is not fit but could come into consideration obviously. Vert is nailed so maybe a better choice. Smalling can also be a very good option. Afraid of Son's minutes though..

No love/ replies on last page - appreciate some of your opinions if poss!

Time to put my ultimate decision out there - against the grain but no hit vs Kane with lots of hits:

    A) Barnes > J.Ayew (FT)
    B) Vardy, Salah, Son > Kane, Sané, Lingard (-8)

    Current team:
    1FT £1.1itb
    DDG
    Vert, Smalling, Mustafi, Morgan
    Salah, Sterling, Eriksen (V), Son
    Jesus(C), Vardy
    (Ryan) (Mili, Barnes, Lowton)

Is it really worth ripping things up to get Kane in? For what it's worth the 3 people above me in my cash ML all have Kane and only one has Salah

RMT tool tells me I'm better with A) but what do you all think?

    Cheers!

    1. MTPockets
      8 years, 3 months ago

Totally depends if you think will Kane will haul, and whether you captain.
If he looks great this eve B, else A.

    3. Don Kloppeone

      8 years, 3 months ago

Trouble is if was as simple as 'do I think Kane might haul?' then I would get him in now but it's because that involves ditching Salah and Son and that feels more than a little bit risky!

      1. Taking the Mkhitaryan

        8 years, 3 months ago

Sounds like you don't really fancy it. So don't do it

        1. Don Kloppeone
          • 8 Years
          8 years, 3 months ago

Of course I don't fancy it - it's purely the fear that every person I see on here either has Kane already or is ripping it up to get him in

My decision not to get him will be my big differential - either positive or negative!

        8 years, 3 months ago

Just seen you are already on triple Spurs - I think taking a -8 to get rid of Salah and Son is, frankly, madness. If Kane hauls big, someone has to create them - with Eriksen and Son, you should get a decent return

        1. Don Kloppeone
          • 8 Years
          8 years, 3 months ago

That's exactly my thinking behind option A) and what I still may very well do.

It's the fear of being on here and seeing every ruddy RMT and question with Kane included .....

    Best move?

Personally, i'd just do Barnes -> Ayew if you have the cash.

So, who's going without Kane? I'm gonna go Erikson and Son as my spurs cover, and spend the extra on a better defense and perhaps Arnie.

I am probably sticking without him

I have Jesus, Sterling, Eriksen, Son and Salah plus decent defence (Vert, Smalling, DDG)

The -8 I would need to get him in, losing Salah and Son feels ridiculous

    BBing in 37

    Ederson/Fab
    VVD/Baines/Cedric/Yedlin/Long
    Salah/Ozil/Mane/Sterling/Zaha
    Jesus/Wood/Perez

    2 FTs, .2 ITB

    I'm thinking best moves are Mane/Wood/Long -> Pogba/JAyew/Smalling for a -4, yes?

    Cheers

Chelsea fans or those in the know. Any thoughts on what gametime we can expect of Willian and Alonso next week?

Willian to T.Carroll and Lowton to Alonso -4.

Currently would need to play Vertonghen - Kiko - Masuaku defence.

    Thoughts?

    Downgrade Mahrez to who?
(Must be a downgrade to afford Smalling and JAyew over Morgan and Barnes for BB)
