We now check in with the form of a number of Double Gameweek 37 candidates in our regular analysis of the members’ Opta data.

Man City’s attack shows no signs of complacency since clinching the title, while Southampton appear to have reason for optimism in their bid to beat the drop.

Meanwhile, we assess the recent showings of Spurs and Leicester’s frontmen, while Man United and Chelsea’s midfield make a late claim for our attention ahead of Friday evening’s deadline.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Really good to hear the number 1 in the world talking about making decisions based on expected value rather than just picking differentials for the sake of it (except maybe in the last few weeks).

    Hope he wins it.

Cheers, for my team (A) does actually require a -4 since I'm 0.1m off affording it. But the -4 will be Dunk to Van Der Hoorn or Bednarek, so that might regain the 4 points anyway (would have to play Morgan otherwise).

I can actually afford Ramsey and Arnautovic which may be an option if Arsenal go out of Europa. What do you think of that combination versus Alli and Fernandinho?

    Lawton Tarko chilwell Simson Montreal
    D. Silva sterling mahrez Kennedy king
    Kane Kaku Jesus

Need help winning the mini league, currently on TC Kane.

Which players would you swap for the DGW?
Is Lukaku certainly out of DGW?
    I was thinking of -8
    Lukaku+Kennedy+Simson to JAyew+Erickson+ Alonso/vertongen/Valencia

Why was everyone on the Scoutcast so certain that Sterling will miss a game?

Pep has said he's going to play strong teams out of respect because all the remaining teams are fighting relegation. Of course, City's team is so good that they can rest Silva/Sane/Otamendi while still being a strong team.

But it really seems like Sterling is in a different category to the players that have been rested so far. He's clearly City's main creative outlet and probably their most important player atm other than KDB, so if Pep is going to put up a strong team surely it always has to include Sterling. I don't think Pep can say he's putting up a 'strong' team if he takes away his main attacking outlet. Contrast that with Sane/D.Silva/B.Silva who are more interchangeable.

He has nothing to rest him for now, and I'm sure Sterling is keen to play as much as he can.

Sterling TC locked in or am I mad? Surely everyone would prefer Sterling TC over Jesus or Kane if we knew he was starting.

He can play a strong team without Sterling stop trying to convince yourself otherwise. Everyone is at risk, and that’s that.

Sterling can score more in one game than others in two, set and forget.

I've watched the last two City games and really think City's threat would be substantially reduced without Sterling. He's been the creator of pretty much all of their goals while he's been on the pitch.

In the Swansea game, he assisted the first, set up the second, then there was a KDB wonder goal (no real assist) and then he won the penalty that led to the goal (he wasn't on the pitch for the 5th goal).

In the West Ham game, he assisted 3 of the 4 goals, the only one he didn't assist was the own goal.

So he's pretty much played a part in every goal. Think he's needed for Pep to play a strong team, he's irreplaceable in that City team right now, no one can fulfill his role. Same with Jesus.

I haven't watched the ScoutCast so I don't know what reasoning they might have given. But if I had to pick one City player might be rested over the double, it would be Sterling. Sane and Silva have got their last week and this week. Even KdB was removed early last week. Sterling has played 90 minutes both times.

Now, of course it's not like Sterling can't play 90 minutes twice in a week, because he can. But with the World Cup coming, Pep might decide to give him a rest before that so he is fresh. That rest can either be benching him one game or managing his minutes in both. He might as well go ahead and give him 2 games. But why risk him getting worn out when they have nothing to play for.

Anyway, Sterling has been a brilliant FPL asset this season and he can easily outscore most DGW players in 1 game as well, given his output this season. He would still be a good shout for TC even if he got benched in 1 game. Of course, that also means he most probably starts in 38 as well.

      1. JasonG123
        • 12 Years

The world cup starts a full month after City's last game. Is there really a need to keep him fresh for the world cup?

People act like Sterling is such a big chance of a rest, probably because he was benched in GW1-2. But since then he's only been benched twice and both times he came on (scored one of those times too).

Pre-World Cup friendlies and training starts almost as soon as the season ends. Surely one game rest can keep him more fresh.

That's my point. He has been a brilliant fantasy asset and certainly a TC candidate even if there is doubt of him starting 2 games. Fixtures are really good. Can easily score/assist when he comes off the bench,

Btw, Sterling hadn't played 90 both times. He got 70 against Swansea.

Seems strange to keep someone fresh for World Cup qualifiers. Why not just play the EPL and not the qualifiers then?

Not Qualifiers, Friendlies. NT coaches try to decide the formation and starting Xi in these games. They need their best players to be playing.

Also I disagree that he's the best TC option if we think he'd be rested.

If there was a Stamford Express account and you knew he'd only play one game no way would you TC him.

I never said he is the best option. But certainly a good option. 120 mins vs HUD and BRi are good enough for him to deliver around 15-20 points imo.

Last game Sterling was rested was when they drew 0-0 (and almost lost) against Palace on New Years Eve. I think he's likely to play both fixtures but may get withdrawn early with the game already won.

Real Madrid do absolutely nothing but again reach the final. In pre quarters, PSG playerble le celso gifts them a penalty. On qf, ref gifts them a penalty in the last minute which was never ever a penalty. In Sf Bayern defenders and gk, gift them 2 goals. RM is a fluke team. Last year in qf against Bayern, ref gifts them the win. In 2016 final Griezmann gifts them the cl by missing a penalty in the final. To summarise real Madrid wins by getting gifts all the time. Such a fluke team.

The opposition team makes mistakes almost every game. Madrid do well to stay in the game till the end and capitalise on almost every mistake the opposition make. Not a bad trait to have. They know they don'y have to play well in each match. They have countless match winners (Ronaldo, Ramos, Modric, Kroos, Marcelo, Bale, Isco) to win them matches in the crunch moments. Even if one of them plays well in the crunch moments, they end up winning the game. They are one win away from winning the CL 3 times a in a row. They might have rode their luck a few times here and there but this isn't a fluke team. It's a team that believes in the individual abilities of their players and they deliver every time.

Yes - BB37 and TC38 for me - and most probably Salah at home to Brighton.

Swansea have said that they are confident he'll be fine for this week.

Still confused Jan, sterling or Jesus. Sterling is my no.1 option but not sure he ll start both. Will Jesus start both? I think he will. Kane not in best of forn, but he can score Big.

Ramsey. If you want a cheap differential.

    Walcott is on -67.8
If he drops in price I can't swap him to Ramsey as have exact funds.
All I want is him not to drop tonight so I can see what happens in tomorrow night's EL game and then do it.
Will I be able to or is he likely to drop in price tonight?

Do you think Salah will price drop one more time before the deadline?

Keep an eye if walker is out. If you don’t have 3 city already then Danilo could be an option

    Would love some help:

Is Lukaku, Willian, Eriksen, and Murray > Jesus, Hazard, D. Silva, and J. Ayew worth a -8?

Trying to go for differentials. Team would be:
    DDG
    Morgan, Christensen, Smalling, Kiko Femenia
    Hazard (TC), D. Silva, Mahrez
    Kane, Jesus, J. Ayew
