Our Fantasy Premier League Cup has reached its penultimate stage as we reveal the four managers to make it through to the semi-finals.

The draw has been kind to the two highest-ranked remaining competitors, who swerve each other in the last four, which takes place across Double Gameweek 37.

With a rank of 1,880 Batmaniac is the top placed manager in the competition, after seeing off BroTown Tindersticks in the quarter-finals. This high-flyer has booked himself a semi-final clash with Boxing Can Girouds, whose 11,947-placed team overcame dmcqt in the previous round.

Both these semi-finalists have only their Triple Captain chip left to play, having used the Wildcard in Gameweek 32.

However, underdog Boxing Can Girouds may have the advantage. He has already spent a transfer hit in Gameweek 36 to bring in Man City pair Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to join the likes of Harry Kane and Paul Pogba.

Meanwhile, Batmaniac used just one transfer to bring in Spurs full-back Ben Davies last time out and is currently without any of Pep Guardiola’s troops. At least one four-point hit seems likely if he is to make the most of City’s favourable home games against Huddersfield and Brighton.

The other semi-final encounter sees 5,861 placed PetesBlair square up to the round’s lowest ranked manager 2EyedTurk, who is in 25,071 spot.

As with the other semi-finalists this pair only have their Triple Captain chip to call on.

The lower ranked manager also has the advantage in this tie in terms of Man City assets. 2EyedTurk defeated UTK in the quarter-finals with an impressive score of 66 thanks to his three City stars, Jesus, Sterling and Leroy Sane, who between them netted 28 points.

PetesBlair meanwhile only had Jesus among City assets in his side in a quarter-final victory over Mr Cookie. It seems likely that Sterling will be one of his key targets, with misfiring Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez potentially getting the boot on the back of five straight blanks.

The full quarter final results can be found here, while the semi final draw can be found here.

If arsenal do go out to Atletico

Which assets are likely to play twice?

    -Ramsey?
    -Monreal?

If Arsenal go out of the EL then all they have remaining is giving Wenger a nice sendoff. Monreal is more likely to start both but also think Ramsey will play both.

Very true about being last home game. I think they're more likely to play that game than lei.

Tough one. The first game of the DGWK is their last home game under Wenger. Do you think he'll play a strong team or let the kids have another run out and let the Europa team have a rest?

REally doesn't matter about the result in Madrid, the only excuse to start the same players would be because it's his last home game - I'm not sure that's enough to get a pretty fragile pair of bodies out twice in three days and definitely not three times in six days

    Sterling's home returns this season:
    EVE 1 goal
    CRY 2 goals
    STK 1 goal, 2 assists, 2 BPS
    ARS 1 assist
    SOU 1 goal, 2 BPS
    TOT 2 goals
    BOU 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 BPS
    WAT 1 goal, 2 BPS
    NEW 1 assist
    WBA 2 assist, 1 BPS
    LEI 1 goal, 1 BPS
    MUN 1 assist
    SWA 1 goal, 1 assist

The only game he has had minutes in and blanked was WHU
He got 0 minutes vs LIV, BUR & CHE

Not sure this is a fair comment - back in the "good old days", you could be sure in paying £8m plus for a midfielder would get you starts. Rotation has generally made FPL a less enjoyable game and I, for one, enjoyed being able to make decisions based on who would be starting week on week

Basically AE just provided a more accurate version of a press conference

            1. Cok3y5murf

Lol rotation was always a part of the game. If it was less during the good old days and more now, the game's become more competitive and you need to adapt. Predicting lineups is a part of the game. If it wasn't, our gameweek deadlines would be at kick-off, not an hour before kick-off.

AE didn't provide a more accurate version of a press conference, they provided information that WAS NOT disclosed in the press conference. A leak is something that wasn't supposed to have been revealed.

Up until around four years ago, teams had a first XI. Of that, there would have been around nine players you could pick, safe in the knowledge that they would play every week if available. While Man City have three international class wingers and six international defenders, that's not the case. Yes, the game changes, but I don't see team leaks as being a problem from an FPL perspective.

I stand by a leaked team being a more accurate version of a presser - what did Wenger say the other week about Auba? Basically confirmed that he wouldn't be starting - how does that differ from AE tweeting that Mane doesn't start? The only argument I can see against AE is that some people weren't aware of it, while others were. But if you care enough to follow pressers, you will probably know about AE

Wenger did not confirm anything. He said that he wasn't sure if Auba would start. All that establishes is that Auba isn't nailed for that game. Nothing more. He did not release his team's lineup like AE does. These are 2 different things.

I have two issues for GW37, but only one FT. Both "minor" players:

    1) I have to start or replace one of Barnes, Højbjerg and Lowton. Sell Barnes for Ayew? I guess that's the one most likely to get me any points. Would probably have started Højbjerg if he was nailed on to start both, but he's not.

    2) Morgan. Can't see him play both, and Leicester on the beach. Sell for Naughton for a hit (assuming I do a move with issue 1)

Already got Jesus, Sterling, Kane, no Lukaku, Mahrez, Vardy, Willian and other issues like that.

      Just Barnes -> Ayew

    2. MTPockets
      8 years, 2 months ago

      1) Yep Ayew, or perhaps Austin if have faith in starts.
      2) I'd lose Mahrez/Willian before taking a hit for swansea def (1cs in last 8). But lots of people seem to be doing it so maybe I'm missing something. (I have Morgan, selling Mahrez for free)

Would you take a hit for Willian? Who would you bring in? only viable options are Arnie and maybe Ramsey (if arsenal lose on thursday).

        Can't afford Austin. I don't have Mahrez/Willian. 🙂

        Assuming I move for Ayew

        DDG
        Davies - Cedric - Morgan
        Hazard - Salah - Sterling - Gross
        Kane - Jesus - Ayew

Bench: Ryan, Højbjerg, Barnes, Tarkowski, Lowton

        1. MTPockets
          8 years, 2 months ago

Oh thought you meant no lukaku, yes Mahrez etc.

Well it's Ayew or Perez then - Swansea's fixtures better although Ayew hasn't really scored that many.

On Morgan - I could be wrong but holding as just not that optimistic about getting -4 back
          (cs odds - https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/18127722)

Yeah, poorly formulated by me. Sorry!

I like Perez more, but as you say Swansea's fixtures better both this GW and next GW. Ceiling pretty low though. I could go for another defender and play 442 as well, Barnes fixture in GW38 is pretty good and he's been in good form.

I would definitely have kept Morgan if he would play both, but I really can't see it. He was rotated for DGW34, got back in for GW36 and conceded 5. He's been really bad, Leicester fans think he's bad and can't understand why Dragovic isn't playing as they rate him more. I would be really surprised to see Morgan play both at this stage.

            1. MTPockets
              8 years, 2 months ago

Had a read through Leicester forum, and fans seem angry with the whole team - some even suggesting benching Mahrez & others the old school simpson/morgan//huth/fuchs backline. Would certainly switch Morgan for -4 if could afford mun or better defender, but swansea/southampton need points and perhaps more likely to concede in trying to get them, whereas leicester don't and were down to 10 men in last game.

But I could be clutching at straws if as you say Morgan doesn't even play.

Sterling (and Otamendi and Jesus) owner - I cannot see Pep giving any player 270 mins between now and the end of the season. He will take the opportunity to curry favour with international managers so that he can ask for similar favours when there are friendly breaks next season

Get rid of one of Mahrez or willian. Sane looks great pick?

If you can afford Haz can you afford KDB otherwise I would do that in heart beat

Milivojevic --> Xhaka for the remaining games, worth a hit? (am using BB this week if it matters)

No - Mili has two good fixtures and offers attacking returns. Xakha gets a few accidental assists a season (like last weekend)

    My team is

    DDG-Fabianski
    Tarkowski-smalling-naughton-Chilwell-laporte
    Salah-son-sterling-mcarthur-willian
    Kane-barnes-jesus

    Itb:1.8
    for DGW37 are:

    A)barnes,salah,willian —> j.ayew, tadic/ramsey, sanchez(-8)
    B)barnes,salah,willian —> j.ayew, tadic/ramsey,eriksen(-8)
    C)barnes,salah,willian —> rashford, tadic/ramsey, eriksen(-8)

Or i can keep salah, cut only willian and barnes for:

    A) Rashford tadic (-4) or (6.9)
    B) j.ayew, ramsey (-4) or (8.9)

    Any help?

Is there a Man City defender nailed for both games in GW37? (not Ederson)

    2 FT 0.1m ITB

    DDG Ryan
    Alonso Smalling Morgan Lowton Long
    Salah Son Mahrez Willian Gudmundsson
    Kane Vardy Murray

Not in good shape with no MC assets. Rival who I am trailing by 9 pts has Sterling Jesus Kompany.

Thoughts on Mahrez & Murray to Sane & Ayew as differntial picks to Jesus Sterling?
