Our Fantasy Premier League Cup has reached its penultimate stage as we reveal the four managers to make it through to the semi-finals.

The draw has been kind to the two highest-ranked remaining competitors, who swerve each other in the last four, which takes place across Double Gameweek 37.

With a rank of 1,880 Batmaniac is the top placed manager in the competition, after seeing off BroTown Tindersticks in the quarter-finals. This high-flyer has booked himself a semi-final clash with Boxing Can Girouds, whose 11,947-placed team overcame dmcqt in the previous round.

Both these semi-finalists have only their Triple Captain chip left to play, having used the Wildcard in Gameweek 32.

However, underdog Boxing Can Girouds may have the advantage. He has already spent a transfer hit in Gameweek 36 to bring in Man City pair Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to join the likes of Harry Kane and Paul Pogba.

Meanwhile, Batmaniac used just one transfer to bring in Spurs full-back Ben Davies last time out and is currently without any of Pep Guardiola’s troops. At least one four-point hit seems likely if he is to make the most of City’s favourable home games against Huddersfield and Brighton.

The other semi-final encounter sees 5,861 placed PetesBlair square up to the round’s lowest ranked manager 2EyedTurk, who is in 25,071 spot.

As with the other semi-finalists this pair only have their Triple Captain chip to call on.

The lower ranked manager also has the advantage in this tie in terms of Man City assets. 2EyedTurk defeated UTK in the quarter-finals with an impressive score of 66 thanks to his three City stars, Jesus, Sterling and Leroy Sane, who between them netted 28 points.

PetesBlair meanwhile only had Jesus among City assets in his side in a quarter-final victory over Mr Cookie. It seems likely that Sterling will be one of his key targets, with misfiring Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez potentially getting the boot on the back of five straight blanks.

The full quarter final results can be found here, while the semi final draw can be found here.

Amartey took his spot, then got injured. Simpson came back in but was replaced by Albrighton. Amartey is fit again. The fact that he played a winger at full back ahead of Simpson is worrying.

Barnes > Ayew -4 could be worth it?

    1. Swansea needs points and could go all attack.
    2. They're playing Bournemouth and Southampton who are awful in attack.

Lots of options here for Salah/Willian/Duffy (-8):

    1. Alli, Pogba, Trippier

    2. Sane, Pogba, BDavies

    3. Alli, Sane, Naughton

    4. Eriksen, Son, Naughton

Any preferences? Would appreciate advice, as 2 pts seperate top 3 teams in my ML!!

Got Andy king on the bench this week with willian starting.

Any sense in playing king? I know there's a lot of chat around Ramsey/arnie/pogba to replace willian. (I can stretch to 8.2) it would be for a hit and just for this week as I've earmarked salah back for 38.

    Thoughts much appreciated.

    1. MTPockets
        7 years, 10 months ago

I'd take the Willian hit before starting King.

Oh yeah? Replacement will probably need 9 to break even. Not sure I'm confident many of the above will do that.

Well it will be for 2 weeks then, if you have earmarked salah back for 38.

I would keep/play willian, and andy king first on the bench

Two games right, but just in for week 37. Or have I got confused?

Interesting. I feel like willian doesn't fit into the formation now and could get a couple of late cameos for a grand total of 1+1. No?

        United fans in the house:

Any thoughts on how the lukaku (likely) injury affects United midfield assets?

Maybe helps sanchez but does it hurt lingard and pogba?

Sanchez might be played through the middle.

As long as Mou continues to play Matic and Herrera, it should give Pogba more freedom to make runs into the box.

Salah owners, who you bringing in this week for him?

Would go either sterling or Eriksen/Alli

Have Sterling. It's probably between Sane and Eriksen/Alli for me. Unsure which to go for...

Dunno why you’d sell if you still have him now

Because I'd rather have a player with 2 games, rather than Chelsea away after a midweek CL game

Yeah then it’s a wasted transfer.

I fancy Salah to haul in that Chelsea game anyway

I think the likes of a city or spurs mid with the fixtures they have should comfortably outscore him. Not sure how that can be a wasted transfer

                  We’ll see.

Like I said, my DGW choice would be Eriksen.

Sterling probably though will wait until Fri to decide.

Nice. Sadly I can't afford that switch unless I free up cash with a hit of some kind

If I had Salah and I was selling, I’d definitely go for Eriksen.

Certainly tempted by him. Although Spurs look a little but lackluster recently. Nice that he is nailed though

Nailed and 2 great fixtures with set pieces and a baps magnet.

Much better choice than somebody like Sané/Alli imo

It would be nice if he assists my Kane(TC) 4 goals

Is he nailed though? Poch has rested Alli and Son recently, maybe Eriksen sits one out, would be annoying if it was in a double.

Hmm suppose. That would be upsetting. He's so key to their play though

Really don’t think Eriksen gets rested but who knows really. Just my opinion.

If Chelsea don't beat Liverpool and Spurs beat West Brom, I don't think they can be caught, would make that second game risky.

With Alli and Son, you know they've had their rest, everyone else could be vulnerable if the Newcastle game means nothing.

This is why I'm not too sure about selling Salah myself, we are selling him to gain an extra game but if results go badly in the first game, there may not be a second for whoever we bring in, we'd then have to spend the last transfer getting him back.

Will be Hazard if I do sell him.

Would be for a hit so need to weigh it up.

Probably DSilva or Kdb for me.My guess is that DSilva starts both of home games and then goes back in Spain.Kdb is nailed for all 3 remaining games.Something interesting is that last year he had a really strong finish in the last 3 home fixtures.Alli was poor on Monday,i shouldn't trust him.Eriksen of course a good pick.

        Pope
        Dummet Naughton Robertson (Mbemba, Lowton)
        Sterling Gross Eriksen Salah (Mili)
        Firmino Kane (TC) Jesus

Firmino, Gross, Lowton => Vardy, Ramsey, Yoshida

        Worth a -8 here?

Out - Vardy Mahrez Willian Christensen

In - Jesus Sterling Arnautovic Ogbonna

Wait and see what happens tomorrow at least. Arnie for consistency, Ramsey for a punt.

Will aprreciate your help.Currently have the following with 0f with TC to play:

        Ddg (Ryan)
        Morgan smalling Alonso (Lawton tarko)
        Sterling Alli Son Willian (gudmondson)
        Jesus Vardy Murray

        What is the best move:
        1) Vardy, Alonso -> Kane, mawson/danilo for -8
        2) vardy, willian-> Kane, iwobi/ki for -8
        3) Murray, Alonso, Willian-> Kane, ki, vdh for --12
        4) Murray, willian -> ayew and sane for -8 and TC Jesus or sterling
        5) Alonso, willian-> verto/ Davies, sane for -8 and TC Jesus or sterling
