The biggest Gameweek of the season kicks off on a barmy Friday night on the south coast as Brighton host second-placed Manchester United.

Fantasy managers will be focused on the away side, despite the absence of their most popular asset, striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian misses out through injury as Jose Mourinho hands starting roles to Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial in his front three. Juan Mata also comes into a much-changed line-up as Alexis Sanchez is omitted from the squad.

Significantly, Paul Pogba is named on the teamsheet once again. United’s form player, the Frenchman has three goals and an assist from his last four starts and goes into tonight’s match as the fourth most signed play having been snapped up by 140,000+ managers ahead of the deadline.

Elsewhere for United, Chris Smalling could be a key figure against a Brighton defence that has proved vulnerable at set-plays. The Seagulls have conceded 20 goals, including 14 from corners – more than any other side. Smalling has three goals in his last seven starts and top scored in the previous Double Gameweek with 15 points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

just to think in less than 2 weeks time that this place will become deserted for the summer again with no FPL..

no more RMT posts.. but then again there will always be that one person that will create a RMT 2 months before the start of the season predicting every player's prices and creating loads of drafts with that concept in mind 🙄

will miss it, but in all honesty I can't wait for this season to be over and attempt to finally win my ML next year on the 3rd attempt, after coming 2nd for consecutive seasons.. 😉

After a 7 hour drive on roads from pot hole hell to the Black Sea, a bust wheel in 30 mosquito degrees C hell, traffic cops flagging me down left right and center, only to arrive at the ‘all inclusive’ gaff just as the ‘all inclusive’ bit finishes for the night ... only to find that that my double Utd defence has crashed and burned 🙁

        He's purely headless.

He's more peed off with the front lads as Valencia is a clear winner at right back. He wants to rest Lukaku but simply doesn't trust Rashford and Martial, watching tonight you can see why.

      Won't mention Fellaini though.

The lad who publicly stated United made a mistake not offering him a new contract, how good he is and how he knows they all want him to stay.

They'll go hard for the FA Cup, but really I'm eagerly looking forward to the post Mourinho era.

He's a pretty dodgy character (I think?), not convinced I'd be too enamored with him.

Honestly, I don't know. There are a few up and comers in Germany I quite like, I think Marco Silva could be good as well but maybe needs another biggish job before something like a United gig.

Tuchel I really like but know he's off elsewhere, c'est la vie. I'd quite like someone who maybe is on the cusp of entering their best phase rather than someone who is questionably in the declining portion.

Above all else though, I just want some decent football. If you watch tonight, as is the same often with teams that don't give United space, the "tactic" is side to side then misplace a cross into the box, repeat ad nauseum and maybe we'll score. Might even get one whole counter attack in the match.

Things like hanging Martial and Rashford out both who absolutely deserve some criticism, but are young lads getting few minutes to be sharp, while openly telling everyone how much United want Fellaini. I always knew I wouldn't enjoy Mourinho at the club, but it's very tough. I don't even get annoyed as much these days, I just kinda shrug and laugh. No point in being serious about a team that are a waste of time.

Couldn't agree more, the confusing thing is that sometimes under Mourinho and LVG we've played genuine exciting football, then it just disappears again

It sounds incredibly basic, but we never try to get to the byline any more. Whoever plays on the left always wants to cut in on their right foot and if Mata is on the right he comes central.
It means we're playing in the most congested area possible and we haven't got the one touch players to do that.
Even City try to stretch the pitch as much as they can, we do the opposite.

Its amazing how fpl has so many knock on effects. Missing Auba’s price drop last week and being .1 short of Davies so having to buy Smalling. Could end up a massive swing due to 1 day of not checking prices.

So many of these knock ons happen throughout a season. Good and bad.

Honestly i think Mourinho has to take a lot of the blame, Martial and Rashford are obviously talented, like Mkhi is, but Mourinho apparently just hates watching enjoyable football

Literally all my rivals and the casuals I’ve seen have Gross. So frustrating when you plan and you’re better off just having an auto pick team.

I brought him in DGW 34 and was confident enough he'd produce against United that I didn't upgrade to Bilva. Only time will tell...

Hectic deadline today - what did everyone else end up doing?

I managed to hit confirm on these moves before losing signal heading into the Highlands a few mins before the deadline 😮

Willian Christensen Son > Arnautovic Eriksen Mawson (-8)

    DDG
    Alonso Vertonghen Mawson
    Eriksen Sterling Arnautovic Lingard Milivojevic
    Kane(Tc) Jesus

    (Ryan Barnes Chilwell Lowton)

Rival has TC'd Jesus and brought in KDB - this week could go either way 😮

Took out chilwell for smalling -8. Could still turn that -8 into a zero before the weeks out

Those were good moves. I bought Pogba from Willian (bad), held Grob (good), and watched Ryan (everyone) out perform DDG, and also benched Bong, which goes against so many levels of life karma that I deserve this particular outcome.
