The biggest Gameweek of the season kicks off on a barmy Friday night on the south coast as Brighton host second-placed Manchester United.

Fantasy managers will be focused on the away side, despite the absence of their most popular asset, striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian misses out through injury as Jose Mourinho hands starting roles to Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial in his front three. Juan Mata also comes into a much-changed line-up as Alexis Sanchez is omitted from the squad.

Significantly, Paul Pogba is named on the teamsheet once again. United’s form player, the Frenchman has three goals and an assist from his last four starts and goes into tonight’s match as the fourth most signed play having been snapped up by 140,000+ managers ahead of the deadline.

Elsewhere for United, Chris Smalling could be a key figure against a Brighton defence that has proved vulnerable at set-plays. The Seagulls have conceded 20 goals, including 14 from corners – more than any other side. Smalling has three goals in his last seven starts and top scored in the previous Double Gameweek with 15 points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

With city playing tommorow wonder what will be on the minds of non Kane TC'ers if he gets an early goal.

Everytime he finds himself in a goal scoring position you will be hoping he misses the target right?

lauded ?"average team"-your joking right? thats what he wants you to think. criticise the players enough and it makes it look like he is getting the best out of them. that man has spent an absolute fortune and has a squad only spurs and liverpool could dream of.

ask yourself what Pep would do with that squad if he had it. every single player would be performing at a higher level than they are now.

Man U have have been very poor on the eye again this season, but the table doesn't lie.
Pool & Spurs cannot compete squad-wise with the Manchester & Chelsea ones.
However, their best 11s can and both are good to watch.

Utd has been inconsistent when there’s not much to play for. In the second half of the season they have won against Man City away, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs in the FA Cup semifinal.

    7. Hairy Potter

Man Utd seem to be more reliant on individual’s producing than a team style of play. This can be effective when individuals perform. Mourinho is good getting results in the big games. Reminds me of Newcastle in the Championship last season. They were teams who played much better football, but Newcastle had a few quality players to consistently beat the lesser teams and ground out results against their rivals at the top of the division.

I would agree sort of. Imho United doesn't have better team than other top 6 teams. But when you spend 100mln for one player I can understand the critique. Their biggest problem are the wings, and lack of creativity upfront. Imho City have much better team. Upfront it doesn't even have comparison.

Man Utd have spent millions. Lukaku and Pogba are basically both £100m players and Sanchez would be worth similar and certainly will be getting paid similar. De Gea is the best goal keeper in the world.

Even those four alone show the Utd team isn’t average. It’s just vastly underperforming with the managers tactics.

Man U (and several other premier league clubs to be fair) are a business that occasionally play football matches. They're all about marquee signings and the bottom line. As long as they get in the Champions League and get the cash from TV rights and merchandise they're not that bothered about the quality of the football and whether they win anything (apart from Mourinho himself).

It would have been a financial disaster if they finished outside the top 4 again.

Infact finishing 2nd to an excellent Man City is still good. What does that say about the others behind if Man Utd are so bad...the style may be awful but Chelsea say woukd swap there position in a heart beat.

You've just agreed with my point whilst claiming it's nonsense - yes, it would have been a financial disaster if they finished outside the top 4 but it's the money that's important to ManU, not winning anything - that's purely incidental. If winning the title was important they'd stop buying overpriced attacking midfielders then forcing them to play on the defensive. If they carry on at this rate they'll just be a more expensive and boring version of Arsenal.

As a neutral I know who I'd rather watch comparing Liverpool to ManU. If Liverpool buy a decent GK and bring on Gomez and Alexander-Arnold they'll be the team to watch next time out.

Anyone know the cheat where you reactivate the TC chip from Kane's 3 pointer Xmasflu DGW onto TC DGW 37?
I had it but I've lost it.
    Cheers.

My ML is effectively over after united's loss yest coupled with the Gross goal. Having pogba over his gross was one of my better differentials..sigh!!

Trailing by 34 points. any chance? unfortunately, we both have the same captain.

Me: Cedric + Maguire + Smalling + Pogba + Arnie
ML lead: Morgan + Vert + Willian + Lingard + Gross

Unfortunately very hard to go against salah for next gw as captain as it might kill off my other ML where i am leading by 30 points incase salah scores a hattrick.

Its not over untill its over lad. Still 25 games to go, all in all. You could do with a couple of Saints cleanies, and arnie could go mad.

i guess but bitterly disappointed with yesterday's result.

Also, perhaps i should have gone with Jesus TC. For some reason, i thought he had used his TC so even if i went with TC kane versus his normal captain Kane..i would make up decent ground. Rookie error, should have made sure he still had the chip in hand.

    It’s frustrating.

Last week I went kane captain.. so did my entire league.

So this week I captained sterling as my punt TC. They all TC Jesus and Sterling!! Not one has gone for Kane.

Not necessarily true. I took an 8 point hit.

Salah, Tarkowski & Lowton > Eriksen, Mustafi & Mawson

But I owned 1 player last night. Ryan. 8 points in the bag and I have barely dropped in rank.

Hopefully just the 9 points from Gross across the two games, and therefore I need 14 from Arnie to make it worth it. I'm actually quiet confident. What I should have done is took out Lingard instead!

The fight for FPL No1 spot looks very much going down to the wire .....
When you look at the Top 8 you see how many different chips have been used different (c) choices to hopefully bridge that gap .... Even the squads have so many differentials within ... Its surely gonna bring up a few surprises once this pivotal DGW37 has finished , leaving a fair few managers with that delightful but nerve racking final GW of the season to play out .....

26 points behind mini league rival after last night. Trying to convince myself that TC-ing Sterling was my only option as playing ‘safe’ with Kane would have handed the title to him. What do the rest of you think?

Me: DDG, Otamendi, Morgan, Davies, Sterling(TC), Kenedy, Zaha, Willian, Eriksen, Kane, Jesus.

Him: DDG, Mawson, Trippier, Chilwell, Sterling, Son, Salah, Lingard, Kane(TC), Jesus, Murray.

I think I need some luck but there’s surely a chance...
