Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Philippe Coutinho all made compelling cases for inclusion in World Cup Fantasy squads on Sunday.

They grabbed the goals in the Selecao’s final warm-up game ahead of this summer’s finals.

We’ve got everything you need to know about the match.

AUSTRIA 0-3 BRAZIL

Brazil rounded off their World Cup warm-up campaign in some style as they waltzed to a 3-0 victory in Austria.

In the 38th minute Gabriel Jesus scored the opening goal, pouncing on the rebound from Marcelo’s blocked shot from range.

Neymar, making his first start since February, doubled the Selecao’s lead in the second-half after some typically impressive skilful play.

The Paris Saint Germain forward has now scored in his last two Brazil matches following his return from injury.

Philippe Coutinho added the third and final goal of the meeting, assisted by substitute Roberto Firmino.

The only personnel change to Brazil’s starting XI from the side that beat Croatia earlier this month was Neymar’s return in the left-forward position of a 4-3-3.

He replaced Fernandinho, who is not expected to be starting player in Brazil. Paulinho dropped deeper than the right-forward role he has fulfilled of late to sit in the midfield three, as did Coutinho.

That allowed Willian to play in a more advanced role, resulting in his assist for Neymar’s goal.

The defence of Marcelo, Joao Miranda, Thiago Silva and relatively budget-option Danilo remained unchanged.

Brazil XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Marcelo (Filipe Luis 67’), Joao Miranda, Thiago Silva (Marquinhos 60’), Danilo; Coutinho (Taison 76’), Casemiro (Fernandinho 61’), Paulinho; Neymar (Douglas Costa 84’), Gabriel Jesus (Roberto Firmino 67’), Willian.

I get the 15 man strong/equal squad tactic but it simply makes your team weak.

Also imagine spend 1-1.5 mil more for a mid who will blank so than you will change swap him for most probably other 5.5-6.0 mil player when most other managers with diferent tactic will swap his 4.5 blanker for 9.0 big hitter.

    1. Madderegern
      • 11 Years

Partly agree. Especially regarding midfield options. Rather have 3 I expect something from and 2 4,5's than 5 so-sos.

Hardly "equal squad", just pick nailed cheapies for early punts then swap em out If the blank.

A balanced squad it safer, but the group stage leader will probably be the player who gambles on a strong starting 11 (somebody will get it right)

      1. Lone Wolf FPL
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 9 months ago

Yep. 12 mil is too much so I prefer Jesus than Neymar or the picks like Cavani than Suarez etc.
Balance is a thin line here. Imagine someone with strong XI who get it right plus his 4.5 defs will give him CS.

At same price can you decide between Griezmann (AUS/PERU) vs Lukaku (PAN/TUN)?

    For Griezmann:
    +on pens
    +Nice fixtures
-can play slightly withdrawn and may share goals with mbappe/giroud

    For Lukaku:
    +Even nicer fixtures
    +Plays upfront
    +takes many chances
    -not on pens
-ignoring fantasy, just not as good of a player as Griezmann

    1. FFFrog
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

Yes Lukaku vs Panama and Tunisia. An attacking flat track bully in an attacking side, who is scoring for fun for them. Griezmann is not the talisman of an out of sorts France side who play a resilient Australia side and a Peru side gunning for an upset. Not even a close call.

Would you mind rating my team lads?

    Muslera
    Danilo - R. Rodriguez - Kimmich - Meunier
    Lo Celso - Isco - J Rodriguez
    Perisic - Neymar - Werner

Bench: (GK) Carvallo - C Sanchez - Dalsgaard - Hamed.

3 of those bench players are cheap starters. I know I have a lot of money tied up in Perisic but I think his low ownership could be a smart differential and he always seems to do well for country.

Thoughts? Is there a better nailed 4.5 mid than Hamed?

    1. ManLikeMeyler (Team Argenti…
      • 7 Years

Think Perisic is a waste of a fwd spot and there's better options than Lo Celso at 6. Wouldnt get Rodriguez considering his MW1 fixture. Lack of depth also a concern.

Thanks, I've swapped Lo Celso out and found 0.5 to buy Ljajic which seems to be a popular pick in here. I'm actually going to bench R Rod for MW1 and I've brough Varela in hoping he's given the all clear to start.

Not true - both Coutinho and Paulinho tend to play in midfield ahead of Casemiro, and throughout qualifying Paulinho actually had more goals/assists.

I don't. Obv Neymar's goal average in the NT is ridiculous, but looking at the qualifier's Neymar scored 6+9 in 14 starts and Jesus 7+5 in 9 starts. Tite's comments about Jesus recently has been very positive and he'll start every game imo.

Fair comments, with the extra money I could upgrade Ljajic to Mueller, seem like a good move?

Sounds good. I'm a bit vary of the Germans, Löw has a history of rotating in group stages. Mueller is a beast in WC tho 🙂

    Thoughts on this lot?

    Muslera
    Miranda - Godin - Muenier - Danilo
    Isco - Coutinho - Cueva
    Werner - Cavani - Hazard

    Uzoho - Ljajic - Advincula - A. Ndiaye

Really like the Brazil double defense..with Miranda and Danilo cheap options, can expect 2-3 clean sheets.

Get a cheapie from groups A-D instead of N'Diaye

If you're getting a 4.5 midfielder, they're going to get you 2 points.

Does it really matter if you swap someone else's 2 points to get the cheapie's 2 points?

Mendy for high ceiling but perhaps some uncertainty for starts. Godin/Gimenez for CS

Don't know enough to comment really, but... know he gave away a chance resulting in goal against USA a couple of days ago, got subbed for Pavard (I think) later on in that game

RRodriguez - Swiss ranked 6th in FIFA rankings. Solid in defense and he's their penalty taker and very attacking game.

Or Miranda for some Brazilian backline investment.
