Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has a strong case for inclusion in Fantasy Premier League squads for 2018/19, while some of his Arsenal team-mates look set to show improvements too.

These are some of the findings of our first FPL members’ article of the summer, in which we analyse each team’s historical data to assess their prospects for the new season.

We have looked at the team’s attacking and defending statistics and delved even deeper with a specific look at both the goal-threat and creativity of individual players.

The potential impact of new signings and, in Arsenal’s case, a new manager has been factored into our research as well, to give us the most accurate picture for 2018/19.

The Gunners came sixth place in 2017/18, their worst-ever finish in Arsene Wenger’s time in north London, recording their highest ever goals conceded tally in the Premier League era too (51).

It seemed a fitting time for Wenger to step down after 22 years at the helm with Paris Saint Germain manager Unai Emery replacing him.

However, there were encouraging signs going forward, with the aforementioned Aubameyang the focal point of those improvements.

Fantasy Football Scout members can read on to see the full analysis…

Max Cap in the final - I know a lot are considering it but, it offers the guarantee of making up/fending off a lead - even if rivals somehow nail it.

Opposite argument: Can see a lot of these R16 ties being open!
    When are you playing it?

Final. Like you say if you have a good GW then, there are no further GWs to bring you back down. Plus the benefits of fewer captaincy changes, low scoring final, high scoring play-off

Leaving my reasoning for final, posted before on another thread:
"You'd want to use Max Captain when you have the smallest chance to get a captain right. On both QFs, Semis and Final/3rd place you only have 2 go's at it, so they would be my prime candidates. Considering the 3, I think captain in final/3rd place is the way to go. Unpredictable matches, where both teams are strong and it is rare there is a clear favourite (vs. quarter finals where you still can have some matches where you find a clear favorite).

Due to this, the best captain is usually very unpredictable, with it a lot of times being a defender (which we don't usually captain). Let's look at Euro/WC finals recently and find the best captain, considering you wouldn't captain a defender:
      WC 2010
Final: Netherlands 0x1 Spain - Iniesta. Possible you'd captain him, but most people likely would go for an attacker (RVP, Villa)
3rd place: Germany 3x2 Uruguay - Cavani, Forlan, Jansen, Khedira. You could have one of these as captain (mostly Cavani/Forlan).

      Euro 2012
Final: Spain 4x0 - Silva, Alba, Torres, Mata. Torres and Silva okay choices for captain, but you'd be better with Alba, that almost everyone had at that point (he scored a lot of points in the tournament).

      WC 2014
Final: Germany 1x0 Argentina - Gotze. Not only not the biggest assest in Germany, but everyone who had Messi would captain it.
3rd place: Netherlands 3x0 Brazil - RVP or Wijnaldum with goals. Blind would be the best (clean sheet + goal) but you'd never captain him.

      Euro 2016
Final: France 0x1 Portugal - Only goal by Éder. I'm Portuguese and no way in hell anyone would captain him.

Overall, not only results are unpredictable, also goal scorers are unpredictable. Very rarely there are braces, so most times you're better served with a defender (which you wouldn't captain in the first place)."

but the final is rarely a goalfest. I think securing the right captain between Lukaku and Neymar would make more sense.

I played max captain this week as I went with Ronaldo/Costa/Salah playing on the same day so had limited cap options. So it would make sense for R16 too if you want to back Messi/Ronaldo/Suarez on the same day for instance.

No idea how they have arrived at this team, it's probably just a pure guess, but Daily Express reckon:

      Pickford
      Alexander-arnold Jones Stones Cahill Rose
      Loftus-cheek Dier Delph
      Kane Rashford

Like I said probably not going to be exactly that but hopefully helps a bit.

I'd avoid Neymar. Coutinho a better route into Brazil attack IMO. So you could maybe do Lukaku/Griezmann + Coutinho instead of Golovin + Neymar.

Also Spain's defence has looked appalling. Could turn it round of course but I'd be tempted by Tripper over Carvajal.

    Funny old game

All the English haters want England to win and most the English fans want them to lose. Never known anything like it 😆

I think the perfect scenario is 3-3 with Sterling subbed on in the last minute only to get a red card for violent conduct immediately and be banned for the rest of the tournament.

England 2nd on fair play. Sterling unpickable. Good game had by all.

Why is Mkhitaryan not mentioned at all in the article?

Why no mention of Mkhitaryan? I reckon he could be as proficient as Ozil..?

Mkhitarian not mentioned, and Oxlade-Chamberlain left the club last summer.
