Josh King, Charlie Daniels, Junior Stanislas, Nathan Ake: Bournemouth players have mostly been good to Fantasy managers since the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2015, offering decent returns for minimal investment.

Last season’s offerings were something of a disappointment from a Fantasy perspective, however, with no Bournemouth player reaching double figures for goals, assists or clean sheets.

King scored half as many goals (eight) as he managed in 2016/17, while Jordan Ibe’s total of six assists was the best any Cherries player could muster.

The Bournemouth defence was particularly porous, meanwhile, keeping only six clean sheets (a league-low shared with relegated Stoke City) in their 38 league matches.

Part of Bournemouth’s appeal from a Fantasy standpoint is that by now we mostly know what to expect from the south coast side. Eddie Howe is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, following Arsene Wenger’s departure from Arsenal, having been on the books at the Vitality Stadium for well over five years. Many of Bournemouth’s players have also been with the club for an extended period: King, Daniels, Stanislas, Ryan Fraser, Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Steve Cook and Callum Wilson, among others, have featured in all three seasons that the Cherries have spent in the top flight.

While Howe’s formation is far from settled, having flip-flopped between a conventional back four and a three-man defence last season, the Cherries’ mantra remains comfortingly consistent: attack and attack some more.

        Explain?

Never gone beyond a QF in a World Cup.

Don't qualify for NINE of the past 14 tournaments.

Finished fourth in their qualifying pool, winning only once against a half decent team (2-0 v Peru).

        Their best player is injured.

They are officially ranked below England because of the results in recent seasons.

Pretty sure this justifies England being narrow favourites, unless you are a 'England are rubbish, lolz' merchants.

So Columbia, that awful team who came 3rd in Copa America and got the the QF of the last world cup and lit it up? England havent done anything to suggest they are better than Columbia at all. Think the Panama result has given the naive a massive boost of false hope. Just my opinion mate.

Fifa Rankings lol. England always look good in the rankings because they beat dross teams like San Marino in Qualifiers 7-0 lol. When it comes to doing the business competitively, they get taught a lesson. Need to get out of this culture of thinking we are better than every other team

I don't think it will be one sided at all and I'm not sure I've read many comments to that effect so I'm unsure where you are getting this.

I am with the bookies making England favourites but not overwhelmingly so.

I think the QF consideration is valid though. I would make England favourites over the team that comes through the Sweden v Switzerland game, much stronger if that is Switzerland (Sweden a bit of a bogey team). I would fully expect them to lose to the winner of Brazil v Mexico.

Ok so what does "it's coming home " mean?

1 The football is in Russia for one

2 the world cup wasn't manufactured in England so it's not really it's home is it?

It's a lyric written by Skinner and Baddiel ahead of the 1996 Euros when football did come home to England and Gazza was three inches (or two fewer pints) away from putting them into a major final.

Being used in a tongue in cheek manner by some on here to wind up salty anti-English posters.

          Which you know full well.

England might lose to Colombia, indeed, I curently don't have an English player in my draft team, but this slagging off of a side that has played decent football is uncalled for.

    Isco Modric Coutinho Quintero Sanchez(4.4)
    Griezmann Lukaku Kane

Thinking sacrifice Quintero for Gazinsky, minimal impact & frees up 1m ?

Any other option in defence you can switch to a Brazilian and then trade out Allison?

I like all 3 suggestions, food for thought thanks - I fancy Brazil to get to final so might back my instinct & stick with Allison as sole keeper. Ta

    Couple of quick questions:

    Which forwards
    A) Kane + Costa...20.2m
    B) Neymar + Perisic...20.5m so similar costwise

    Which mid
    C) Lingard + Ramos...14.1m
    D) Modric + Strinic...14.1m
