Set-pieces are still proving important for World Cup Fantasy managers as we head into the quarter-finals.

Once again, we’ve pulled together all the relevant data so Fantasy Football Scout members can work out which nations are the best to invest in for the next round.

At this stage, it looks like England and Brazil are the most likely to score from set-piece situations in the quarter-finals, based on their respective match-ups while Croatia and Russia both look susceptible to balls into the box.

READ NEXT: Our transfer tips and stats for the World Cup Fantasy quarter-finals

Our research includes the penalty and corner-takers for each country, based on who has taken them either in Russia or, in some cases, in qualification. If there is no number next to a player’s name it’s because they took at least one in qualifying and/or warm-up games but are yet to take one at the World Cup itself.

We’ve also calculated which teams concede the most fouls and attempts from set-plays too to help you work out which nations are the most likely to get set-pieces in the first place.

To clarify, the ‘Attempts from set plays’ section combines those who have shot from direct free-kicks or those who have latched onto the end of a corner.

The deadline for Gameround 5 is at 15:00 BST on Friday July 6, so make sure you sort your team in time.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

Think I'll be having Aguero to start the season then. If Brazil get past Belgium that would most likely mean Jesus won't be ready for the first couple of weeks along with Firmino.

If England go through also, striker options will be thin with Vardy and Kane (Son also locked into team in that case) being doubtful for first couple of weeks too.

What about this as scoring system?

    2points for winning penalty
(no points if penalty is awarded after handball)
    +1point if penalty is scored
1point for winning FK from which is scored

3 points for real assist (like in WC fantasy)
    2 points for fantasy assist

    Godin - Trippier - Pavard - Boyata* - Trauco*
    Courtois - Abedzadeh*

I agree, I've always thought the main purpose of Sky fantasy was just to get you on the site as often as possible

      1. CaTriEm
        • 13 Years
        8 years, 12 days ago

The main thing I'm confused about: captaincy changes. From the way it's worded in the rules, if you have players playing on a Saturday, Sunday & Monday (for example) you can have three captains.

Can't tell if it's like FWC where you stick or twist, or if you can have multiple captains.

        1. HamezMace
          • 11 Years
          8 years, 12 days ago

That's my understanding too....so you have to go to the site on Friday, and Saturday, and again on Sunday...and each time you make a change you get flooded with betting odds.

          1. CaTriEm
            • 13 Years
            8 years, 12 days ago

But which is it? Do 3 players score double points or are you twisting each day like in FWC? Seems you're able to set out your captains for each day in advance so I guess you don't actually have to go back to the site each day.

Can't really blame them for trying to draw people in, good business really.

            1. HamezMace
              • 11 Years
              8 years, 12 days ago

I believe you keep the captain points from each day, so yes you have the potential to have three captain over a weekend.

You'll enjoy it if you stick with it and get your Capt picks right. You need to ensure when possible to have a player in the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and any mid week games to swich capts armband. You will still keep Capt points gained from a previous game

I would on Hazard > Neymar (see below). Not on defenders.

    Currently on
    Courtois Subasic
Pavard Trippier Miranda Carvajal (OUT) Akanji (OUT)
Modric Coutinho Isco (OUT) Quintero (OUT) Inui (OUT)
    Griezmann Hazard Kane

    A) Isco, Quintero, Carvajal, Hazard > Lingard Bentancur Granqvist Neymar (-4) = 12 players
    B) Carvajal Isco Hazard > Granqvist Golovin Neymar = 11 players
    C) Wildcard

I prefer to take Hazard out than use a FT on the bench. I have Courtois so it might be counterintuitive but my MLs are full of Neymar and I need to block him.

I also know hits are not great but A looks much better, and not sure if I want to wildcard when my team is actually okay

      Pavon defender? You mean Pavard?
I like it. Lot of spread though, still got the WC?

Very similar to my non-wildcard team, a few differences...decent!! :

      Muslera / OLSEN
      Miranda / TRIPPIER / Lovren / Pavard / Granqvist
      Coutinho / Modric / LINGARD / Cheryshev / Bentancur
      Mbappe / NEYMAR / Kane.

    No BB nor WC.
    Got this setup after 3FT:

    3 x ENG
    3 x CRO
    2 x BRA
    2 x BEL
    2 x FRA
    1 x SWE
    2 x fodder (5,7M and 4,3M)

Best case scenario (ENG, CRO and FRA progress): 10 players next round
Worst scenario (ENG, CRO and FRA lose): 3 players next round

What would your strategy be? Keep it like this or spread (bring some Uruguay and Russia) to minimize the risk?

Interesting that the prices are set, means the game is ready IMO. Early release would present more magic bean transfers (fodder at one club, starter at another)

BEL defense easily exposed by japan especially on the right side. This makes me leaning towards Neymar (I already have Coutinho in my team) over Griezmann.
With his diagonal cutting inside run, i wonder he should have at least a goal or an assist.. but this will left me no france player at all in my team.

Should i go neymar or spread the risk?
