Fantasy Premier League Launch day is here and ScoutCast duo Joe and David have produced our first ever summer broadcast to offer their initial thoughts on the game and the prices.

Early doors, they couldn’t stop themselves from asking the big question: ‘Should we have Mohamed Salah in our teams when he costs £13.0m?’ You’ll have to listen in to find out their feelings on that.

Elsewhere, the reclassification of key attacking players has altered early strategies while the pair also name their over-priced assets before picking out some potential bargains.

Finally, they stick their necks out by declaring the three premium players likely to make their Gameweek 1 line-ups.

    Can having both Firmino and Mane in the team cover Salah's points?

      There is no "coverage". A player can only cover another in defense.

        If Salah scores and assists a lot, then they can be the ones who assist his goals or score his assist.

        If Salah wastes a lot of chances or fails a lot of key passes, they can also miss out.

        Without Salah last year, do you really think Liverpool would have scored the same amount of goals? Do you think Firmino and Mane would have been as effective? Would they have been more effective as they would have been the talisman?

          No, without Salah they would not score the same amount of goals but that's not my point. A team can score 5 goals and the player(s) you've got do f all (eg; Salah vs Brighton away last season).

          Getting Mane and Bobby doesn't mean that if Salah gets points they will cover that.

            I think you are making a false comparison Zilla.

            Even though clean-sheet points are the only points that are shared by guarantee, it is possible to cover attacking returns by some extent. By having Mane in your team, you are with no doubt increasing the chance of your team to take part in any potential attacking returns that Salah might generate on the field.

            Heck, even a clean-sheet might be missed if the player you opted for ends up being subbed or injured, that is just a matter of chance as well.

        I think if going without Salah just need to pick the best midfielder option regardless of who they play for. Is Mane the best 9.5 player? If yes buy if not don't.

      I think you should think of it in terms of value. Firmino and Mane add up 18m.

      Choosing Salah leaves you 5m to equal the value of that.

      So you be asking yourself, Will Salah and Zohore outscore Firmino and Mane?

        Although, saints are chasing this Vestergaard guy, a CB from the Bundesliga. If it goes through, I wouldnt risk Bednarek in my team.

        Are you sure? I seem to remember him being one of their more consistent performers - a bit of a fan's favourite? Just a few games where things didn't click for him, which is understandable when you're not playing week-in, week-out.

    Thoughts on Pogba @ 8 mil and Siggy @ 7.5mil? Both have great opening fixtures and are assist mashines. Siggy on pens too?

      Think Siggy could be a gem. Prefer Ramsey over Pogba, think Pogba could be one to watch out for though, Fred may gave him more room to go forward.
