Samuel Umtiti and Antoine Griezmann were the two players to get attacking Fantasy returns as France booked their place in the World Cup final.

There was also a second successive clean sheet for their defence, so those who invested in their back-line were heavily rewarded.

We’ve got all the goals, assists and Fantasy talking points from match 61 of this World Cup.

FRANCE 1-0 BELGIUM

TOP-SCORING PLAYERS:

  • Samuel Umtiti (£5.9m) – 12 points
  • Hugo Lloris (£5.9m) – 7 points
  • Raphael Varane (£6.1m) – 6 points
  • Lucas Hernandez (£5.0m) – 6 points
  • Benjamin Pavard (£4.5m) – 6 points
  • Antoine Griezmann (£10.1m) – 5 points

Antoine Griezmann (£10.1m) made it three matches in a row with attacking returns on Tuesday night as he assisted France’s winning goal against Belgium.

That was scored by Samuel Umtiti (£5.9m), who headed in the Atletico Madrid man’s corner in the 51st minute.

As expected, this World Cup semi-final was a very close affair, with each side testing the opposing goalkeeper on a number of occasions.

Hugo Lloris (£5.9m) emerged as the winner from the two shot-stoppers as he and his French defence kept the clean sheet, with the Spurs man earning an additional point for saves. Thibaut Courtois (£6.0m) still managed an extra point too, taking his match score to three.

The highly-owned Romelu Lukaku (£10.1m) has now gone three World Cup matches without a goal and is yet to score in the knockout phase of the competition. However, he still has one more match to add to his tally of four – the third/fourth place play-off on Saturday.

Belgium were forced to deploy Nacer Chadli (£6.9m) at right-back with Thomas Meunier (£6.0m) suspended, but the latter is expected to return to the side for Saturday’s match. Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) was positioned as the left full-back, tasked with containing the explosive Kylian Mbappe (£9.2m). Roberto Martinez is likely to revert back to a three-man central defence with Vertonghen, Vincent Kompany (£5.7m) and Toby Alderweireld (£5.8m) retaining their starting berths.

FRANCE XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Hernandez, Umtiti, Varane, Pavard; Pogba, Kante; Matuidi (Tolisso 86’), Griezmann, Mbappe; Giroud (N’Zonzi 85’).

BELGIUM XI (4-2-3-1): Courtois; Vertonghen, Kompany, Alderweireld, Chadli (Chadli 91’); Dembele (Mertens 60’), Witsel; Hazard, Fellaini (Carrasco 80’), De Bruyne; Lukaku.

If Liverpool sign Shaqiri, do we think he'll be bench fodder, or signal some regular rotation of the front 3?

      Rotation I think.

No significant rotation in my opinion. He's way below Mane and Salah in terms of level... He'll come out of the bench and will perhaps start some games but no significant threat.

I think there will be more rotation tbh but there will definitely be more substitutions

I honestly don't see how he fit's Klopp's system. I think he'd be behind the front 3, in Ox's role but he doesn't work hard enough for geggenpressing, imo.

Not sure I like he’s attitude either. Could have a negative impact on the team. Time will tell

I'd say PL wise he'll need an injury from one of the front 3 to be involved. Otherwise he'll be a late sub..

Of course not, and I will be getting some in probably when they do start playing, but there's no point trying to predict which of my starting team will need to go, and which world cup player I'll want to bring in

Nah normally teams heavily rotate and it turns into a high profile friendly match.
How many third place teams can you name in the world cups you are old enough to remember?

That is why I tried to pick the teams who I think would be the finalists.
Got lucky so far with France.
If England win I will only have two Croatians, and a Belgian to reconsider.

      Which City players though, mate?

Aguero/Jesus will keep on rotating, only three of D.Silva/Mahrez/B.Silva/Sterling/Sané can start (huge rotation there too)...

I like Mendy but alos think Pep will play Delph (who was great last season) from time to time.

Well that's not too bad actually. But whatever formation you go with you will have at least one 1-2 pointer on the field. I'd save the 0.5m on your 2nd keeper (you're not going to rotate Ederson) and upgrade a defender for a solid 4-4-2.

I'd say there are none. At that price best to get a 4.5m benchie and spend elsewhere. If you want a viable 3rd striker you'd need to start at 6.5 or 7m imo.

Hey guys, been on this site for about two seasons, never had a membership but now I’m considering it. Just wanna know, is it worth the money? I’ve been finishing top 100k (not great but still) and been winning my local leagues three years in a row.

Can we guess Spurs' lineup for the first two games? Absolutely decimated by WC/Asia Games.

Lloris (assuming GKs can recover quicker...)
    Aurier - Sanchez - Foyth - Davies
    Winks(?) - Wanyama
    Moura - Eriksen - Lamela/Sissoko
    Llorente

Seen Eriksen in a lot of drafts but surely his points will be limited even against Newcastle & Fulham?

Something like that. Combined with new stadiumitis, I'm avoiding any Spuds early doors.

Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if Kane and Vertonghen are in the team, (especially Vertonghen) but assuming Kane isn’t, I think we will line up like this:

      Lloris
      Aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
      Wanyama Winks
      Lucas Eriksen Sissoko
      Lamela

I think it is very likely we will sign players who can play against Newcastle, and I could see Sissoko and Lamela being sold. So basically, it’s too early to call it.

      1. Jarnathan

Lamela can play a false 9?

      2. Shatner's Bassoon
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 5 days ago

Yeah fair enough. Vertonghen is a machine tbf so could play. I think it's also the Old Trafford game lurking in GW3 which turns me off as well.

Not saying Eriksen can't score in those - just don't think there's a very high ceiling for him compared to some others in that bracket.

Will certainly get a Spurs asset down the line but looking at it... fixtures don't clear up entirely until December!

I might stray away too, but I think there is potential value in Lucas/Lamela who may potentially get a lot of game time at the beginning of the season. But as I said, we will have to wait until we have done more business (ins and outs) to get a real idea of what assets from Spurs we want.

    Bonatini nailed at Wolves?

    On Robertson + 5.0 or TAA + 6.0

6.0 is Wilson, so pretty much any nailed 5.0 would be ok..

Probably not - started off last season well, but his form dropped dramatically after January.

If he can get back into form again, he could be a good option though.

Guys, which one would you choose? In B it's Lacazette, think he could be a good punt at that price, for the moment but could be any other 9.5 fwd except firmino (triple LIV already)

    B) Tomkins Dilva Lacazette Stephens
