The Fantasy Football Scout Community have been dealing with the fallout from Gameweek 1 this week, with everything covered from early price changes to Kevin De Bruyne’s knee injury.

As well as the usual array of superb discussions in the comments this week, there have been some welcome article and table submissions that can help with our planning for Gameweek 2 and beyond.

Our latest Community Round-up feature has it all covered.

The Hottest Topics

Our community’s dissection of Gameweek 1 began with detailed analyses of three of the weekend’s fixtures, with maltasi, Bruce Lee and Parm offering some real insight into the Watford v Brighton, Bournemouth v Cardiff and Fulham v Crystal Palace fixtures respectively.

Richarlison had his owners worried after limping from the field in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Wolves, but facer reassured us with what turned out be a spot-on appraisal of the Brazilian’s injury.

With the start of a new season came the return of our regular What Have We Learned? and Rough with the Smooth topics, the latter of which featured RedLightning‘s early ascent to the top of the Mods and Cons league.

The Gameweek 1 picks of 15 Hall of Famers were the subject of rent_boy‘s FPL player analysis, meanwhile.

Eden Wizard was the winner of our Scout Pick Community Lottery for Gameweek 2, as attention turned to this forthcoming weekend.

The Community discussed the pros and cons of gambling on an early transfer, while G-Whizz rounded up the “Doosra stats”, fixture odds and clean sheet odds to help with our planning.

The repercussions of Kevin De Bruyne’s knee injury sparked debate, with Parm providing a deeper analysis of Manchester City’s tactical tweaks in the 2-0 win over Arsenal. Becks also gave us his predictions on what City’s line-up may look like this Sunday in De Bruyne’s absence.

ZoumasBloomers asked us for our favourite FPL goal of all time – as well as the goal that has hurt you the most.

DJDave1979 pondered if some premium defenders were season-keepers, while the indefatigable TorresMagic was back to round up the early price rises and drops. Cheers, TM!

COMMUNITY TABLES

There are numerous user-generated tables to pore over this week:

COMMUNITY ARTICLES

We have had some brilliant articles submitted this week, which all proved to be an enjoyable read. TopMarx provided some excellent research into what constitutes a successful season in FPL  looking at how the increase in managers and quantity of players using different websites for advice have both changed the parameters somewhat.

We continued our series of RMTs by having a look at RedLightning’s team for Gameweek 2  while MathewNixon treated us to part two of Everton’s Silva Lining.

COMMUNITY TOURNAMENTS

There was a fast start in FFS Mods and Cons for RedLightning, with TorresMagic and Ragabolly off to flyers too. Deputy editor Skonto Rigga is also currently in the top five after Gameweek 1, narrowly ahead of our very own Joe:

1. RedLightning – 104 points
2. TorresMagic – 98 points
3. Ragabolly – 91 points
4. Skonto Rigga – 90 points
5. Joe – 89 points

Meanwhile, a Bench Boost has fired Vladimir Jelenić to the summit of the public FantasyFootballScout league:

1. Vladimir Jelenić – 133 points
2. Warren Lim – 131 points
3. Ben Wheatcroft – 129 points
4. Andy Davies – 122 points
5. Petri Selkäinaho – 119 points

In our Members’ league, Nick Howard also deployed his Bench Boost chip to great effect:

1. Nick Howard – 129 points
2. Alistair Ross – 118 points
3. Takeshi Igomoto – 117 points
4. Timothy Wright – 112 points
5=. Rickhard Alen/Luke Aiello/Aron Hogni Georgsson – 111 points

Crazy to play Doherty over Robertson and WB?

      Why would you do that?

Just taking CS into account who is more likely the Pool away to CP or Wolves away to Leciester.

Better chance of a CS, plays in midfield, plus I have Zaha and have a thing about players clashing.

I made the sensible decision between Davis and WB and we know what happened.

Just an update on the Kun situation. There appears to be no basis behind the article that was released by the Guardian yesterday. Couple of other things to consider. 1) the article was released 2 hours before peps presser. 2) at no point did pep, in his presser, mention Aguero or answer questions to him being dropped.3) ‘Pep was furious he didn’t pass to KDB’ seems to be more conjecture than fact (unless anyone can prove me wrong) - to be honest what manager wouldn’t be? Would you drop your teams all time leading scorer for this? There is no hard statement thus far that pep is leaning towards benching Kun.

I’ve read mixed opinions about that on here. But aren’t your comments indicative of the rumor mill (no offense) “someone, somewhere who has been right before, said so”. This spirals to fact.

The journalist who wrote the column is supposedly close to both Manchester teams, but if you read the article it’s extremely vague.

Decent first week. 75 and i'm pretty happy with it. How about you?

Had Bobby and Mahrez and switched last minute from Lindelof to Shaw. I know how this works and pretty pleased with the start.

Armband with Kun because i rate Palace and willing to gamble on good ol Sergio. Quite enjoying this scare-mongering to be honest. If Sergio does start, i'll be happy to have those points. More upside imo.

From how he played in his debut sub appearance last week he will definitely get attacking returns at Southampton!

Was injured. Unlikely risk especially this week. But watch out for their europ rep. If he starts playing mid week then more of a risk.

I want to triple my Chelsea assets, because they are top 6 team with the best fixtures in next 10 weeks. I do not want to argue about this. They have only home games against better teams and away games only against worse ones.
I own Morata and have 2 questions:
    1. Sanchez -> Hazard
    A) Now
    B) In 10 hours.
    2. Who Your third Chelsea player would be, if money and position does not matter?
    Thank You in advance!

No, they are not. As I wrote above, it is not the question.

Arsenal play Liverpool away in the next 10, Chelsea play Liverpool and MUN. According to the ticker Bournemouth have better games than Chelsea. But knock yourself out!

Ok, I will repeat again. Chelsea have ONLY HOME fixtures against top teams. I rate Chelsea as real title contender. They will need to win these early home fixtures. Arsenal have very good fixtures also, It is obvious. But I do not rate them as title contenders. I expect them to struggle to keep their top6 status this year. I rate their fixtures and players prizes more to Everton ones, not to Chelsea. But thats only my opinion, nothing more.
And I want some differential in terms of team selection.

But in answer to your Chelsea dilemma. Hazard, Luiz and then wait to make a decision on a 3rd. The reason I say wait, is ee how the new system treats the WB position. Alonso is not getting forward as much and therefore Willian might be a better pick.

Thank You. I have Morata for sure, feel realy unlucky he didn`t deliver as striker of a team, who scored 3 goals. Hazard will come now or for next game and before Sanchez price drop. But do not like any other option, but want to chose one and forget about this problem 🙂

Pulled what out of thin air? That he is 'considering' playing a player or not. I'm sure he is correct that he has considered it. Whether he does it or not is a different matter.
