Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to factor the Gameweek 3 set piece match-ups in their transfer plans in the next few days.

In the second of a new series of Members articles we assess once again where set play situations can be exploited.

Where this differs from the Set Pieces tab is that we have added extra detail on how many of each set piece has been taken so far, which players have had the most attempts from set-plays in terms of goal efforts, as well as how like teams are to receive or give away free kicks or penalties.

That way, by comparing each team’s overall set piece data to find any mismatches, individuals expected to benefit from these situations will become clearer.

We ran similar articles during the World Cup and found them to helpful to Fantasy managers, hence why we have decided to bring them to FPL.

Obviously we only have two rounds of data so far so it may difficult to find too many over-arching trends right now, but we’ll be building on this template every week for Members to use when making their transfers or deciding on team selection.

Any differences between the takers here and on the set-pieces tab are purely because that individual is not available in Gameweek 3.

Do ye think Sane will get much game time this year?

Have him on Draft Team but thinking of offering him up for trade ...

It's a little surprising that he's not been fielded as much given his WC rest and his form last season, but something must be up in training that's tingling Pep's spider-sense about fielding him.

Nobody Really knows at this point.
Such a shame if he won’t. I like him as a player and I’m afraid it could really dent his confidence with the World Cup and not getting chances at City. And he really needs confidence to fight his way into consistent XIs with their squad

    Bernardo Hazard Mane Maddison
    Aguero mitrovic Firmino

    Rubbish bench

Already done Sanchez to Hazard, 1 FT left, worth being aggressive as discussed on the scout cast and doing:

    A) Bernardo to Mkhi
    B) Bernardo and Firmino to Fraser and Aubameyang (-4, 0.5m itb)?

full steam ahead with them flying forward so called defenders.
Nice team! No salah could actually work ifaguero keeps on hauling and is not rotated. Also, Mane so far has matched salah.
flexible team too, the only thing is that risk of benching the wrong ones from time to time.
3-5-2 / 4-4-2 / 3-4-3 (and the rest) you got all angles covered i'd say

looks solid! most flexible squad i've spotted on here lately.

thing is, i personally hate having such depth in squad as i usually end up benching a good amount of points.
Truly winds me up, i hate hrowing out rotten food because of over shopping, as much as i hate benching lots of points.
My bench usually picks itself with a 4.5 and nasty cheap cannon fodder

Sorely tempted to put the great Man City midfield conundrum to bed by doubling up on their defence and Kun up front. Mandy - Bernardo Silva - Kun are my current City 3.

Mandy is looking so solid at the moment Shotgunn - with Otamendi lurking I was thinking Ederson as the second defensive coverage (albeit as GK). Bernardo Silva doesn't fill me with confidence offensively. Great goal against Arsenal but I'd rather have Mkhi for .5m less.

    Pickford (Hamer)
    Mendy, Robertson, PVA, Shaw, Tomkins
    Mane, Richarlison, Bilva, Jota, Cairney
    Aguero, Auba, Zaha

    2 FT, 0 ITB
    Thinking of doing
    Bilva - > Mkhi
    Jota - > Kante
    Shaw - > Alonso
Ofc it would cost me - 4

Yeah the chance that actually had me on the edge of my seat at the time lol. Good point Mama - but in the past few games he's had few clear cut chances. I need Arsenal coverage so bringing Mkhi in for BSilva gives me the .5 I need to bring a proper defender in for Bailly. United's defence is shocking.

If you had 5M to spend on a defender (already own TAA), who would you pick?

In all honesty, I’d rather it be a 4.5M if anyone has any good ideas.

Considering pereira, but heard Chilwell has actually looked better. Is this true?

I’m terms of 4.5Ms, thinking Adam Smith.

Slim pickins but assuming it's for 5th defender so only odd game here and there. What about Cedric? Looks like he could drop to 4.4, is he nailed? I'm considering him

Thanks. I should have said I’m really not keen on Southampton though.

I could be wrong though, Cedric stats always player to deceive.

He’s the one I’m leaning towards to be honest.

I’ve not watched a Leicester game yet this season annoyingly enough though!

        Decent fixtures too.

    I’m think of

    Pogba and Shaw OUT
    Alonso and Pedro IN

United are a mess right now.

    What do you think?

Pogba might rise again before deadline, so maybe worth holding off.

I have him (and 2.5 itb) and similarly want to upgrade but not for a hit.

I'm not happy about not having him tbh... his stats keep up with Mane

Eriksen and Bailly >> Dilva and Alonso? No hit required. Just unsure if Dilva is nailed enough to justify 8.4 million.

      DDG.

Hamer is the worst keeper I've ever seen at this level and probably won't play.

The upcoming international fixtures - do most quality starters in the premier league usually participate? I'm keen to wildcard this week but concerned that the 2 week break will impact form, which seems to come in 4-6 week bursts, or result in injuries to players in my wildcard team.

Not a solid team, and he's right to wildcard now. A difference between a good player and a player who "knows" you should wildcard during the international break.

Looking forward to seeing what his new team is.

If he capped Aguero he would have been in the top 50k easily... how is that not solid? hahaha

He has Jota, King, underperforming Eriksen 9.5 and W-B banned with no bench whatsoever.

Honestly it’s the perfect time to WC. I really have a good feeling.

I’ve sold players like Auba and will buy them back Friday at a cut price. Made a fortune on the market too. I’m up to 101.6 already. Admittedly some of those need a double rise.

😯 100.2 here with risers and droppers and generally none of the popular returners 🙁
