Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to factor the Gameweek 3 set piece match-ups in their transfer plans in the next few days.

In the second of a new series of Members articles we assess once again where set play situations can be exploited.

Where this differs from the Set Pieces tab is that we have added extra detail on how many of each set piece has been taken so far, which players have had the most attempts from set-plays in terms of goal efforts, as well as how like teams are to receive or give away free kicks or penalties.

That way, by comparing each team’s overall set piece data to find any mismatches, individuals expected to benefit from these situations will become clearer.

We ran similar articles during the World Cup and found them to helpful to Fantasy managers, hence why we have decided to bring them to FPL.

Obviously we only have two rounds of data so far so it may difficult to find too many over-arching trends right now, but we’ll be building on this template every week for Members to use when making their transfers or deciding on team selection.

Any differences between the takers here and on the set-pieces tab are purely because that individual is not available in Gameweek 3.

Looks nice! I'd personally question having both Cairney and Ings as it gives you a rotation headache. I'd downgrade Cairney to a 4.5 and use the money on improving Cedric going forward.

Did Peltier King to Alonso Kamara for the next GW.

Not really thinking Wildcard but out of interest what are your thoughts on this squad ( no Salah I know but not sure he looks as essential as last year (yet) but will certainly wait until after Brighton game)

    Ederson Hamer

Given Liverpool's upcoming fixtures, I would hold off on the WC until they turn again. If there is a time to go Salah-less, it is for 6 weeks post Brighton. The team is very solid - Long term I question Pogba, who I do not expect to be a consistent source of goals. Trippier is great but will be rotated.

Also agree on bench headache - it would be better to have a 4.5 striker or mid in there, and use the money to strength the first 11

    Ederson
    Robertson, Coleman, Shaw
    Salah, Siggy, Mane, Richarlison
    Zaha, King, Aguero
    Hamer, Cook, Ward, Wan-Bissaka

Which looks better? - I've two I really want to shift: Shaw and King.
    1) Coleman and King to Mendy and Ings (-4)
    2) Shaw, Siggy and King to Mendy, Mkhitaryan and Ings (-8)

Yeah he’s a “talisman”. However fixtures ain’t great and he’s pretty pricey still.

I’m so glad VR and Mark the best of the best have joined the WC club.

I’ve sold players like Auba and will buy them back Friday at a cut price. Made a fortune on the market too. I’m up to 101.6 already. Admittedly some of those need a double rise.

    Downsides: Salah or no Salah.

101.6!? At this stage of the season that's crazy.

Yeah. Well I had a good team to begin. Mendy, Shaw, richarlison. Bilva.

Then I’ve taken rides from mane. Alonso. Wilson. Pedro etc this week.

Sold king, Jota, Hudson Odoi pre drop.

Values been the real reason behind it.

Zaha and Ings are cracking value. I think because I got Auba in so early I wanna keep him now.

      • 8 Years

I'm at 101.1m, with no players that are just there for the price rise. I caught all the good bandwagons - Alonso, Mane, Aguero, Rich, Mendy.

It should start being a factor very soon, as few will be able to afford the inflated prices without weakening another part of the team. Try bringing in Wan-Bissaka at 4.1m on a 100.0m budget, you'll be left with 0.4m ITB which is the same as paying 4.5m for the player.

Looking for a downgrade on DDG, so I can afford Mhikitaryan.

    A. Hennessy (means double PAL defence)
    B. Foster (means double WAT defence)
    C. Pickford
    D. McCarthy
    E. Begovic
    F. Cech

Is it worth a wildcard in order to bring in:

Robertson, Ederson & Mane? I’m currently on a -4 after bringing in Ings, Alonso & Miki. I could also leave 1m in the bank to bring in hazard next week.

I do have a good squad but I could take advantage and make it great.

    Current team

    Foster, Fab
    VVD, Alonso, Mendy, Wan, Bednarek
    Salah, Miki, Eriksen, Richarlison, Bernardo
    Ings, Aguero, Madine

I’ve been warned off but I can’t help being tempted..

Evening oh wise ones. Thoughts on what to do with my FT or save? Thinking upgrade Patricio to 5m or another 4.5? Thanks

    Patricio
    VVD - Luiz - Mendy
    Salah - Richarlison - Mane - BSilva
    Wilson - Aguero - Arnie

    Hamer) - Boly - Stephens - WanB

I'd sell Arnie and get Zaha or Wilson.

It's not worth a transfer until you WC but I'd also get Robertson over VVD.

A lot of love for Fraser but Brooks at 5.0 has caught the eye. His underlying stats are up there with the best.

Agree, he looked like he has the makings of a decent player. Watchlist for now

Passed the eye test at the weekend. Him and Kenedy are players I'm looking at getting within a few weeks so will be able to assess further.

Had Richy for both games, but like Arsenal fixtures better (words I will probably come to rue)

Bailly is at risk of being dropped and wolves don’t look capable of keeping a cs.
