Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to factor the Gameweek 3 set piece match-ups in their transfer plans in the next few days.

In the second of a new series of Members articles we assess once again where set play situations can be exploited.

Where this differs from the Set Pieces tab is that we have added extra detail on how many of each set piece has been taken so far, which players have had the most attempts from set-plays in terms of goal efforts, as well as how like teams are to receive or give away free kicks or penalties.

That way, by comparing each team’s overall set piece data to find any mismatches, individuals expected to benefit from these situations will become clearer.

We ran similar articles during the World Cup and found them to helpful to Fantasy managers, hence why we have decided to bring them to FPL.

Obviously we only have two rounds of data so far so it may difficult to find too many over-arching trends right now, but we’ll be building on this template every week for Members to use when making their transfers or deciding on team selection.

Any differences between the takers here and on the set-pieces tab are purely because that individual is not available in Gameweek 3.

I do. But what puts me off is potential rotation and Saints attacking threat.

Hopefully I'm wrong and good luck to any Ings owners.

Think I might Wildcard after this gw, there’s 4/5 players I want in and I don’t really want to take hits when I’ve got a wildcard burning a hole in my pocket. Thoughts fellas?

You're going to want 4 or 5 different players every GW no matter if you WC now or not, I'm saving that WC this season in case of an injury/suspension jinx later but I've zero problems with taking hits in the meantime.

Worth playing WC and losing Auba for this team?

    Hennessy (Hamer)
    Mendy Robertson Chilwell (AWB, Bennet)
    Salah Mane Eriksen Richarlison Neves
    Aguero Zaha (Kamara)

Or hold until next week and see how Auba gets in against Hammers? Team would still include Mendy, Salah, Mane, Rich and Aguero.

Have we established who the best goalkeeper to get this season is? Or still up in the air. Currently on Foster/Fab and concerned about Fabs potential points going forward. Have Palace/Bournemouth/Liverpool/City defence covered elsewhere. No Man U but De Gea too expensive I think.

Agree but I’ve got 3 City players already - suppose I could move Bilva to Mkhitaryan next week which may work well. A bit concerned odd sloppy goal City concede too - at least Mendy gets attacking points (can’t see Ederson getting many more assists).

Disliking my team atm (regret ignoring the template 🙂 ).

    Patricio - Hamer
    Bednarek - Shaw - Tomkins - WanB - Bertrand
    Hazard - Salah - Mane - Bilva - Jota
    Kun - King - Kamara.

    A: Wildcard
B: Jota --> Fraser or someone else in that range

Alonso, Robertson. Ignore the other 2, you don't want rotation amongst your premium defenders.

do you really think trippier can get rotated now? hes so much better than aurier? if he takes even half of eriksens set piece duties could be a bargain. is rob much more nailed than TAA? that extra 1 mil is tempting

    Hi mates, good morning!

Would you fancy a -4 to bring Henessey, Mkhi and Aguero (for Patricio, Salah and Zaha + 1,9m)?

    My team as it is:

    Rob Mendy Luiz WB Peltier
    Salah Mane Bilva Rich Gunnarson
    Auba Zaha King

    1. Stat Sloth

Hennessey a bit risky? Especially if you have a potentially non-playing backup goalie. Remember how much Hodgie rotated goalies last year.

    Alonso / Mendy / Bellerin / TAA / WB
    Hazard / Mane / Richarlison / Gray / Guendouzi
    Aguero / Aubameyang / Kamara

Ended up making 3 transfer this week. took the -8 sadly but think that it'll pay off.

Bilva, Shaw & Bertrand out -> Mendy, Alonso & Mikhi in, have another 0.7 ITB for next week (eyeing replacing King for Zaha/Arnautovic).

Do you think it was a good decision or was I too easy on the trigger? When I think about it, that -8 could very possibly balance itself with the scoring of my new players. I was mainly worried about Bilva playing too far from the goal now that Dilva is back, and also he's always at rotation risk considering City's depth in midfield. Mikhi has easy fixtures ahead, is cheaper, plus should rise in value over the next few weeks.

I am guessing you were also already maxed out on City slots?

I did the defensive transfers yesterday, had Mendy+Bilva+Agueroooooo, decided to do the Mikhi transfer this morning, so now I have a free city slot.

Ah ok I guess whatever happened I would prefer to still be maxed out on 3 man city slots...

Good, but add Tosun in consideration also.

Problem is I already own Richarlison, I don't trust Everton's attack enough to have two starters from it most weeks.

Also, not in a hurry to get rid of King just yet. Bournemouth had a good start but don't see them nor Wilson continue in the same form. I really hope this week's game will be different for King.

Would you start Hamer or Bego?

Huddersfield shipped in 9 goals in 2 weeks.

Cherries only 1 and that was a penalty.

I think you'll gonna have to play Bego either way. Can't see Hamer starting another one
