Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to factor the Gameweek 3 set piece match-ups in their transfer plans in the next few days.

In the second of a new series of Members articles we assess once again where set play situations can be exploited.

Where this differs from the Set Pieces tab is that we have added extra detail on how many of each set piece has been taken so far, which players have had the most attempts from set-plays in terms of goal efforts, as well as how like teams are to receive or give away free kicks or penalties.

That way, by comparing each team’s overall set piece data to find any mismatches, individuals expected to benefit from these situations will become clearer.

We ran similar articles during the World Cup and found them to helpful to Fantasy managers, hence why we have decided to bring them to FPL.

Obviously we only have two rounds of data so far so it may difficult to find too many over-arching trends right now, but we’ll be building on this template every week for Members to use when making their transfers or deciding on team selection.

Any differences between the takers here and on the set-pieces tab are purely because that individual is not available in Gameweek 3.

I think Ederson is great and all but as a spot in MCI, It's not worth it.
you can have Aguero,Bilva and Mendy for example
I had the same dilemma earlier, and I decided to go for Kepa (don't have alonso)

    Should I Wildcard?
    Bank 3.5m
    2 FT

    Allison - Etheridge
    Alonso - Robertson - Cook - Mendy - Perriera
    Mane - Richarlson - Perreya - Fraser - Pogba
    Wilson - Aguero - Deeney

No you should not. I would try to get some Arsenal cover. Deeney to Aubameyang and Pogba to Pedro (other 6.5 if Pedro gametime worrying).

Well maybe not just don't see many options to get Auba in. Deeney's next 5 includes CPL, TOT, MUN, ful, ars. and CPL are defending well so Deeney might not deliver much in next 5.

No. Not for a hit. See how United do this week. Last season they were poor defensively and then they changed the mindset and kept a lot of clean sheets. They hav some great fixtures coming up defensively. 1 more week and do it for free if you wish next week.

    Hi Guys,

A professional critique would be very much appreciated.

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Robertson, Mendy, Alonso (Bennett, Peltier)
    Salah, Mane, Mkhi, Rich, (neves)
    Aguero, Wilson, Ings

Neves, Wilson and Ings are my concern.
I was thinking (Maddison or Fraser), Kamara, Ings instead.

Please let me know your thoughts on any of it

All the best and good luck

as UCL/league cup games start and fixtures get congested you’ll have to rely on your bench more and more. it’s not a big issue at the start of the season, but now you’ve WC you need to consider the implications

Might seem bonkers but I am leaning towards Auba. Obviously he's not off to a fast start, but has had 2 tough fixtures. He now has a lovely run of games. However, so does Aguero...

Haven't tried this yet. Genuinely stumped on my transfers this week.

    Foster, Patricio
    Mendy, Robbo, Bailly, AWB, Pelt
    Salah, Richarlison, Bilva, Cairney, Gunnarsson
    Aguero, Aubameyang, Tosun

    0.0m

Plan right now is either to roll the transfer or ditch Bailly.

      maybe Tosun -> Ings/Mitrovic
then Bailly -> Alonso (next week if u dont want -4)
