Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to factor the Gameweek 3 set piece match-ups in their transfer plans in the next few days.

In the second of a new series of Members articles we assess once again where set play situations can be exploited.

Where this differs from the Set Pieces tab is that we have added extra detail on how many of each set piece has been taken so far, which players have had the most attempts from set-plays in terms of goal efforts, as well as how like teams are to receive or give away free kicks or penalties.

That way, by comparing each team’s overall set piece data to find any mismatches, individuals expected to benefit from these situations will become clearer.

We ran similar articles during the World Cup and found them to helpful to Fantasy managers, hence why we have decided to bring them to FPL.

Obviously we only have two rounds of data so far so it may difficult to find too many over-arching trends right now, but we’ll be building on this template every week for Members to use when making their transfers or deciding on team selection.

Any differences between the takers here and on the set-pieces tab are purely because that individual is not available in Gameweek 3.

Kamara is a waste, Townsend and Cairney make it a weak midfield. Robertson much better then TAA and where's Alonso?

So not convinced I'm afraid. 🙂

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Robertson, PVA, Luiz (Wan-Bissaka, Ream)
    Salah, Mané, Mkhitaryan, Richarlison (Cairney)
    Aguero, Arnautovic, Ings

Did my 2FT early to avoid price drops. GTG?

The Wan-Bissaka red card is frustrating as I have the issue of Ream already being injured. But it seems a bit mental to take a -4 on getting him out when my starting 3 defenders ought to be nailed?

Yeah keep WB , he is only out for one game and at worst will drop back to 4.0 and should be straight back into that team after playing well vs Liverpool!

What chance of ramsey starting going forward? Really into arsenal player now and thinking to double up mikhi and ramsey instead of auba if he still not firing

I was set on Ramsey from GW 3 onwards before he was benched last week , so went Mhiki instead but he should play most games in their easy run now just not nailed anymore.

Auba is good player to have for GW3

      but
Not a good captain choice... Salah aguero is better..

    Transfers already done for GW3

    1. Firmino (about to drop 0.1) > Aguero (about to rise 0.2) [FT]

    2. Davies (about to drop 0.1) > Alonso (about to rise 0.2) [-4]

Good tranfers so far? 0.6 swing in my favour. Now also considering...

    3. Eriksen (about to drop 0.1) > anyone 9.5 and under [-4]

Eriksen is no longer on set pieces, playing deeper, and against United at Old Trafford.

    Seems logical, right?

1 more match for Aubameyang in my team.

If he fails than downgrade him to Zaha/Arnautovic/Ings and upgrade defence...

    Sounds good?

true... but my other team contains

        1X5.0 mid

Not really. Starting GW3, Aresenal have a run of 8 consecutive games against teams with a FDR of only 2/3.

    Guys, would appreciate some feedback on my current team;
    Hart/Hamer
    Robbo, Mendy, Schlupp, Holebas, WB,
    Salah, Mane, Bilva, Richarlison, Masuaku,
    Aguero, Arnie, Wilson
    1.5 itb

    Tempted to bring in Alonso, but missed out on price rise;
    A) Bilva > Mikhi
    B) Holebas > Stanko, to gain 0.5
    C) Hold

Ings to outscore Arnie, Zaha, Mitro and the other 5.5-7m group? I'd even guess he will outscore Morata. Morata's historic goal record is actually pretty poor for an apparently elite striker.

WC team. Rate if you fancy.

    Foster (Hennessey)
    Alonso TAA Mendy (Pereira. Awb)
    Salah Mane Pedro Richa Mkhi
    Kun Ings (Kamara)

Thinking Salah》Haz next week to captain the latter, subject to respective performance this weekend.

    1. The Darkest Knight
      • 15 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

      1. TAA nailed??? if yes then I would also get him by downgrading robertson.
      2. I don't like pedro... he will be rotated once Hazard is back.
      3. You should keep provision for heavy hitter forward... when Kane or Auba or Lukaku will start firing??? (May be downgrading pedro?)

      1. El Lobito 10
        • 8 Years

1, risk but their best RB by a mile, v important to how Liv play.
        2. Their best player up to now
        3. Perhaps. Can see premium mids equalling or bettering Auba or Kane. Kane too pricey.

        Thanks mate. Anyone else please?

        This!

        2. Chelsea mid a bit risky, apart of Hazard.

Had TAA since the start. Game time is a risk. Got Pereira and AWB off the bench though. I think Sarri prefers Pedro and could even see him drop Morata to accommodate Willian if he stops playing like his twin brother. Thanks for your input lads, food for thought.

Please STOP me from playing my Wildcard tonight...

    Opinions please...

    Plan A (keep what I've got) -
    Ederson, Fabianski
    Mee, Robertson, Luiz, Wan-Bissaka, Peltier
Salah, B Silva, Milivojevic, Richarlison, Stephens
    Firmino, Zaha, Agüero

Plan B (play the Wildcard) -
    Ederson, Hamer
    Robertson, Mendy, Alonso, Wan-Bissaka, Peltier
    Salah, Mane, Mkhitaryan, Richarlison, Stephens
    Zaha, Agüero, Kamara

Very tempted by the Wildcard and want to avoid price rises, concerned it's too early and should save it for double Gameweeks.

I am thinking Bilva To Mkhi
And Jota to Richarlison or Pedro?
Or should I replace Shaw with Pereira or someone?
