This week the ScoutCast crew are determined to bust the myth that they share identical strategies.

Long-term maverick Luke returns to reveal his freshly Wildcarded team which bravely went into Gameweek 2 without Manchester City’s hat-trick hero Sergio Aguero and last season’s points-scoring sensation Mohamed Salah.

In stark contrast, Az is continuing his march up the rankings thanks to his faith in this premium pair, and his resolve in resisting broadsheet tittle-tattle hinting that the Argentinian would be dropped.

David is also beating a different drum and keen to explain the reasons behind his chequered FPL history and how his fortunes already look better this time around.

That leaves me as the only dullard representative, armed with a bunch of ownership statistics, a goals imminent table and a dubious ‘camping’ excuse to explain my recent poor captaincy decision.

Our differing views across a range of key issues facing Fantasy Premier League manages ahead of Gameweek 3 are aired.

Our assessment of Chelsea and Arsenal assets ahead of their favourable fixtures is top of our list. And we also ponder whether Spurs’ players can compete as assets this season and indulge in some bargain hunting up front.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

1 FT this week, already used one on Cairney to Kante (thought Cairney was going to drop midweek).

I am delighted with my team and see no further changes needed apart from my keeper - Patricio.

Should I change him to another 4.5 (maybe Hennessey) or roll the transfer.

I have Hamer in the sticks this week if he isnt sacked off with Rui om the bench.

      Roll

Definitely roll. Rui will get some save points this week. Unless a real stand out keeper emerges then 4.5m keepers should be hold and forget.

Roll. Keeper points are usually fairly limited anyway and you are giving away the clean sheet in hits.

It's people like you that make me scared. Still have Cairney, don't want him to fall. He looked decent last game and has BUR. Don't see why I should ditch him until next week.

Sorry! I didnt want to shift him, especially with a tored Burnley next.

But with the possible drop, I couldnt afford losing that 0.1 otherwise the other 5m options would have been gone.

He isnt taking any set pieces as I had hoped which doesnt help either.

FPL. I like him as a footballer (and I am talking about as an 11m player - people went crazy over him last week).

I think we need a few more GWs worth of data. He's 11 mill now and I'm not even sure how nailed he is bc it looks like Pep is using wingers slightly differently this season.

Not good value. Especially compared to Mane, Richarlison, etc. Overrated definitely for England -
despite all his 'runs', the most basic stats don't lie, 2 goals in 44 caps. Not good enough for England. That's not racist, Ian Wright, that's the stats. Poor, Ian, very poor.

      1. Andy_Social
        • 14 Years

Well that's nonsense. Sterling will rack up plenty of points this season - maybe not quite as many as last.

It's simply his price that deters me - I've forked out the equivalent for Aguero and gone for more nailedness in Mendy and Ederson.

    11. MikeBravo

I have Bailly and have been weighing the same thing up. Bellarin is a good option. So are the Spurs full backs. However, United have a good run of games coming up and when Jose takes a kicking the first thing he tends to do is sure up the back line. I would hold for the moment.

      1. Chockky

Thank you. had a feeling Jose may drop him for smalling. im benching him this week and bring in Lowton ( may be a bad call after Europa league)

        1. Demel

He may drop him. If he does then we both know which player we will be looking to transfer out. I think we will also see if United look to be tighter at the back. Having a United defender may prove to be a good differential.

  10. TurboTastic!

I was almost set on having Hazard, Guendouzi and Ederson (have Aguero and Mendy).

But then I started to think if Dilva and Pedro might be a better combination, if both nailed (but then I can't have ederson). Also would have to bench Wilson or Ings every gameweek I think as my midfield then would be; Dilva- Salah-Richarlison-Pedro-Miki

If I go with the Hazard team then it will be easy to bench Guendouzi almost every GW and will always have to hope that either wilson or Ings doesn't score. And also don't know which keeper to have.

    What do you thinkk?

    1. Demel
      • 14 Years
      8 years, 3 days ago

I think....Do not go anywhere near Guendouzi in a wildcard team.

      1. TurboTastic!
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 3 days ago

OK, but it's just a 4,5 fodder, plus he seems nailed.

But you're saying the Pedro Dilva combination may be better?

        1. Demel
          • 14 Years
          8 years, 3 days ago

No. I would downgrade Ederson (or a defender/striker) and upgrade Guendouzi. I don't see him at all as nailed. Fraser would be the best bet but a player like Kante or Neves are also fine options.

              8 years, 3 days ago

Yeah that's what I'm thinking plus pretty easy fixtures right now, problem is if he concede he will probably only get 2-3 points, and a goal can come so easily. But I think I will go with the Hazard-Guendouzi-Ederson team (though I like Dilva, but not sure if nailed). And then maybe switch later. But I can't really decide 🙂

Guys I have 2 FT and was thinking of the below:
    1. Bednarek > Cook
    2. Sanchez > Alli

Leaving me with 0.7m ITB to upgrade Speroni to a 4.5m keeper next week?

    Thought please?

Yeah ok, Think it's a good plan then. But maybe do Sanchez to Alli and Speroni to other 4,5 kepper now, (West ham difficult fixture now) preferably someone that rotates Fabianski difficult fixture. Then do bednarek to someone next GW

Ya was thinking that too. I only want to get in a 4.5m keeper and at the minute I am unsure who. There are lots of options:

            1. Hart
            2. Hennessey
            3. McCarthy
            4. Ethridge
            5. Begovic
            6. Fabri
            7. Foster
            8. Patricio

Dont know whos the best option out of the above?

            1. TurboTastic!

I think Hennessey is the best, Palace look good this year. And he rotates quite well with Fabianski (i.e. having easy fixtures when Fab have difficult ones).

Second maybe Fabri, who makes a lot of saves but Fulham concedes a lot of chances.

i would go with Hennessey for the long run!

    Patricio
    Robertson Luiz Mendy
    Salah Bilva Mane Richarlison
    Aguero Zaha King

    Stek Masuaku Wan-B Tomkins

Stek to Hamer. Hamer is currently a playing 4m so if a last minute injury to Pat happens there are a chance of points
Bilva to Mkhi- Mkhi has nice fixtures and is doing well. has just had a price jump which is a shame.

To get Alonso, or not to get Alonso... He burned me twice last season as I got him in after two of his purple patches and then he did nothing but lose in value for weeks.

Will he keep this up? new, BOU, CAR, whu should result in at least one CS and some attacking returns.

Getting him in now for a FT would probably mean I won't get Mendy until GW5 without hits.

Indeed, and that's good enough for me. He got assists from playing just a few minutes last 2 matches and should get more this GW. I'm on a wildcard and planning for the long haul, so I'm more than happy to bring him in now rather than wait and use up a transfer that might be needed to fix something else.

Final dilemma on WC is whether to go with a cheap bench or not?
What are fellow wildcarders doing bench wise?

    An example would be:
    A. 5.0m, Cook, AWB
    B. 4.5m, Bennett, AWB

    B. allows Mitrovic over Ings or Robertson over TAA.

The thing that's putting me off option B. is the lack of a decent 4.5 mid.
    Thoughts?

I have the same dilemma. At the moment I'm thinking B. Not sure who my 4 will be. Maybe Peltier as Wolves forums suggest Bennet will make way for Dendoncker.

Mid will be the Arsenal guy or Stephens. Punt vs 2pts guaranteed.

Didn't know much about Bennett's nailedness so thanks for that! But Peltier seems to have lost his place. Both that Arsenal guy and Stephens are not certain to keep their places either and it would be brutal to have a non-playing bench once UCL comes around! It's a tough one!!
