We can reveal that Mark Sutherns has played his Wildcard for Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season.

Joe spoke to him in the latest episode of ScoutCast Extra Time on Friday afternoon to find out his reasons for hitting the button and making a raft of changes.

You can watch that video below or on our YouTube channel.

Mark explained that a lot of his decision revolved around how volatile the transfer market has been since Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.2m) hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

With managers all over the world chopping and changing Mark was faced with a situation where several of his original assets were facing price falls, and those he wanted to replace them with were going in the opposite direction.

Joe made the case for sticking with Mark’s original Gameweek 2 team but it will definitely be an all-new line-up in Gameweek 3.

In our latest edition of ScoutCast Extra Time, Mark takes us through two different teams he is considering before Saturday’s 11:30am deadline – one with Eden Hazard (£10.5m) and one without.

    Got a hard decision

    A. Ferdnandinho
    B. Neves

Who to play, defensive midfielder or set piece taker. What would you do?

Neves for glory and bust my Bendy Mendy.

Defense is Mendy Shaw Bailly WB Peltier

0.8 ITB and maxxed our on Liverpool coverage (Salah, Mane, Firm). Should I take a hit for one of the Utd defenders or just hope for the best? What team looks like they can pay off the -4? Arsenal?

Arsenal def are leaky in last game they weren’t really talking to each other after plays. Would stay away from them for a bit until form changes.

Wouldn’t take a hit either just let it ride. Shaw will prob play

Utd 4 clean sheets in a row against Spurs at Old Trafford.
I expect another busterclass from Jose

    3. THE SHEEP HUNTERS

Double on the Palace Defence .Ditch Shaw. (I'd ditch Bailly too later) Spurs Central defenders or get VVD over Firm long term.

I'd take 1 hit this week for sure Utd are a sinking ship. imo

    Hi guys,

    Allison/ Speroni
    Mendy/ Luiz / Shaw/ AWB / Bennet
    Rich/ Mane/ Salah/ Bilva / Jorginho
    Aguero/ King/ Zaha

Anyone you'd be looking to change? i've 2 FT in the bank and im dying from the price rise

Thinking of King to Ings and maybe Bilva to Mhik. But fixture wise Bilva looks like a transfer saver

    2 questions here

    2. Captain Salah or Aguero? I have Auba as well

    1. Clintymints
      8 years, 1 month ago

      Auba punt could be ok

      Salah safe

      Aguero lethal

      Maybe Hamer?

I've Foster and Hamer but can't decide

Fellas, what's the vibe on Lacazette? I've been holding since GW1 hopeful he makes an impact or gets a start soon. Hate having 9.5 tied up if he's not getting minutes, think I'll give him one more week and save my FT

I’ve had him since the start too. I’ll keep him if he starts today or he doesn’t start and they lose again. If he starts auba will be on the wing and I reckon laca will score. Wait and see.

Ederson. LIV outfielders more nailed, so better to max on them outfield eg Salah Mane Robbo or Salah Mane Firmino even

Probably Ederson (no competition for the jersey) because Bravo’s injury.
      no wait ha ha.

Alisson actually, as I heard Aguero was a decent replacement. At least city have a good back up.

      1. FPL Forward Thinker

Joking as both clearly nailed but Ederson has better fixtures in next 3-6 weeks imo

    Ryan

    Robertson, Mendy, Bailly,

    Salah, Mane, Richarl, B.Silva,

    Aguero (c) Zaha, King

    Hamer, Wan-Bissaka, Cairney, Peltier

    2 FTs 0 itb - Bailly (unsure) / B.Silva (Mkhi) / King (ings)?

Bilva doesn't deserve to go. He had 3rd most shots behind Jesus and Aguero last week and Mkhi costs what he does because he was inconsistent as hell last season

Sterling. Rested and about 3.1% ownership. Could be quite the differential

    1. FPL Scoop
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      8 years, 1 month ago

He could indeed. Fairplay if you own him, but I can’t see myself getting him in unless he becomes pretty much 100% nailed. 11.0 is an insane price hike. He is not the same quality as Aguero or Auba, imo anyway

      1. Moosie the Staggie
        8 years, 1 month ago

He couldn't really be priced any lower.
He had a score that is better than anything Kun has ever achieved in FPL, even Hazard has only once bettered that total in 6 seasons.

Sanchez a large pressing issue imo. Problematic not having Salah or any ARS cover imo.

Could do Firmino Sanchez to Zaha Salah (what I’d do personally)
or Pedro firmino to Auba 5.0
      or Moura to mhki
or Sanchez to hazard to hazard if you want to give Firmino another week

Just feels so boring captaining Salah week in, week out. Especially with Auba and Aguero in my team too.

Went punt on Mendy (c) last week, and was ALMOST a huge success - pretty damn close to getting CS, another assist and what would likely be at least 1 bonus in that case. Add that up and it’s 16pts x 2 = 32 *sigh*

All that said, will still be captaining Salah this week. All the permacaptain people out there (and the fixture this week) make it hard not to tbh

    1. Mull
      8 years, 1 month ago

Mendy(c) is a stupid idea no matter how many points he actually gets.

      1. FPL Scoop
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        8 years, 1 month ago

Why exactly is it a stupid idea? Was only 1pt behind salah last week and as I stated above unlucky not to get a bunch more points from that fixture. Would have been a huge differential

        1. Ghost Gooner
          8 years, 1 month ago

Its stupid because Kun got 20 points. Why overlook a guy with the most hattricks amongst active players 😆

Because I didn’t bloody have him that’s why, smartness...? Hard to captain someone you don’t own. Was like quite a lot of the unlucky chaps on here who started with Auba instead.

      2. Ghost Gooner
        8 years, 1 month ago

Imagine saying Mendy (c) nearly paid off when Kun got cappers 40 points 😆

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Yes and I didn’t own Aguero, so if Mendy (c) had payed off more it still would’ve been pretty damn good for me.

          1. Ghost Gooner
            8 years, 1 month ago

So you brought in Kun this gw? Anyway I think capping defenders is fun but not a good idea tbh

Yes, downgraded Mahrez to bring in Aguero this week.

Definitely is fun, especially early in the season when the risks aren’t that large. And if there was ever a game to do it, that is definitely a contender imo. For not havin aguero last week, and my highest scorer mane on 10, 16 is a respectable c score ig. Just annoyed about the non CS

        2. Holmes
          8 years, 1 month ago

Maybe because Kun wasnt an option for him?

Just think Bernardo and David are both advanced midfielders and you need someone with them to sit a little deeper like KDB/Gundogan. Also from Pep's comments, he really seems to like Gundogan.

They might drop Jesus this week.

      I'm guessing they go:

Shame you’re priced out of Luiz to Alonso.

If you aren’t averse to the -4, i could potentially see ddg downgrade (Schmeichel maybe??) and Luiz to Alonso paying off. United a shambles rn and Alonso could get a lot of attacking returns in the near future

I'm playing Hamer over Lloris but if you think United can keep a C/S then its gtg

gtg but play Peltier over Ings and Hamer time.

Any no shows you'll get your gaff anyhow.

So, yea I'm going for captain Aubameyang and it is my final decision...

Or I think so, if I don't chicken out

Good pay dividends mate. I have Auba Aguero Salah (+ Mane) to choose from, and really quite fancy Auba this week (maybe even more than Aguero), but I personally just feel Salah is a safer bet especially with that fixture.

Hope it works out for you though; I’ll still get the basic Auba points if he explodes! 😆

How does this potential trade next week sound?

Salah, Pogba, Jimenez > Mane, Auba, Neves (+0,7m to bank) (-4,)

    Leaves me with.

    Ryan
    Luiz - Mendy - Robertson - Bailly
Mane - Fraser - Maddison- Hazard
    Auba - Kun

Button - Never- AWB - Kamara

If I had Salah- I would not be excited about trading him out, even though I have confidence in my player Aubameyang

It is basically the question. Will Auba and Mane outscore Salah and Pogba?

Gotta say, I wouldn’t be losing Salah. There no other way to get Auba? I’ve got salah Mane Auba aguero myself, just cheaper 4th mid and def is all

Potential trade sure but it’s unlikely since if Salah does what we expect him to Brighton you probably won’t want to get rid

Play 1: Coleman (bou) or Moura (utd). Thanks.

Unless Coleman is involved in the goals, he could very well be looking at 1 or 0 pts. Moura should be at least guaranteed 2 pts and possibly more likely than Coleman to be involved in an attack so Moura for me

        Makes sense. Thank you.

Yeah I’d do it. I have bilva and Fraser myself atm, no Alonso. Going to hold onto bilva for now myself, but if I like the move to get in Alonso.

Half expect Bilva plays out wide. Think I'm going to do it. Need to remove Utd defenders.
