The Fantasy Football Scout Community have been dealing with the fallout from Gameweek 2 this week, with everything covered from high-performing full-backs to the early emergence of template teams.

As well as the usual array of superb discussions in the comments this week, there have been some welcome article and table submissions that can help with our planning for Gameweek 3 and beyond.

Our latest Community Round-up feature has it all covered.

The Hottest Topics

The early-season exploits of Marcos Alonso, Andrew Robertson and Benjamin Mendy prompted Ginkapo and then Goldman to ponder why left-backs are doing so well, while the Community were also discussing just how many heavy hitters we should be lumping on in defence.

With some tricky-looking fixtures for Liverpool on the horizon, Lukakwho did some digging in order to ask whether Mohamed Salah is likely to struggle against other “big six” clubs. Rupert The Horse went on to assess Liverpool’s form against their five rivals on the whole.

A wretched run of matches for the likes of Cardiff City and Newcastle United also motivated ZoumasBloomers to ask our thoughts on the “unpickables”.

The price change trends were a source of discussion in midweek, as was the debate over managing our heavy hitters.

Thoughts turned to this weekend’s matches with a speculative discussion on who the break-out star of Gameweek 3 could be, while G-Whizz was on hand to offer us his weekly fixture odds, clean sheet probabilities and “Doosra stats”.

Debate over the template team reared its head, with both vartshk and Crossfire Harry Kane offering their thoughts on this Fantasy hot potato. Goldman, indeed, encouraged us to listen to our own gut instinct.

Away from Gameweek 3, Scratch floated the excellent suggestion of having private FPL cups.

COMMUNITY TABLES

Once again, there were some fantastic tables to help our transfer plans created by FFS users.

COMMUNITY ARTICLES

We have had another week where some brilliant articles were submitted to us. Rossi3245 introduced us to Bundesliga Fantasy Football, Hutch_James returned with another Wisdom of the Crowd piece and Greyhead continued his look at well-known figures within the FFS Community.

COMMUNITY TOURNAMENTS

RedLightning continued his impressive start to the season gaining entry to the 100-club for a second week in a row to keep his lead at the summit of FFS Mods and Cons. The top three was unchanged while Andy Goddard and Chris James knocked Skonto Rigga and Joe out of the top five.

  • 1. RedLightning – 214 points
  • 2. TorresMagic – 188 points
  • 3. Chris James – 188 points
  • 4. Andy Goddard – 180 points
  • 5. Ragabolly – 177 points

Abdelrahman Saleh is the new leader of our public FantasyFootballScout league. He played his Bench Boost in Gameweek 1 and Triple Captained Aguero in Gameweek 2. The Egyptian now sits 12th in the world.

  • 1. Abdelrahman Saleh – 228 points
  • 2. Warren Lim – 224 points
  • 3= Jon Greenwood – 220 points
  • 3= Cosmin Rotaru – 220 points
  • 5. Lazaros Kalaitzidis – 219 points

Nick Howard still leads the FFS Members League. Having played his Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 1, he followed that up with a Wildcard in Gameweek 2 and is now ranked eighth in the world too. Our very own moderator RedLightning is also up to fourth.

  • 1. Nick Howard – 229 points
  • 2. Graeme Bye – 218 points
  • 3. Luke Aiello – 215 points
  • 4= RedLightning – 214 points
  • 4= Andrew McKinnon – 214 points

Meanwhile, Luke Aiello is the new leader of RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league, one point ahead of the league’s creator. Luke has had two previous top 10k finishes, the best being 2759th in 2016-17. It currently contains 1157 teams, and every single one of them has had at least one top 10,000 season finish, that’s how managers can qualify for it.

Anyone care to guess the Pep roulette today? Im going with:

    Ederson,
    Mendy, Kompany, Laporte, Walker
    Bilva, Fernandino, Dilva
    Sterling, Aguero, Sane

Guessing that Wolves as an attack-minded team wont sit back so deep like other teams will so City will try to use Sterling and Sane pace as counter threats.

I think Bilva will be benched for Gundogan, and Mahrez will play on the right, with Sterling on the left.

Sané on the bench, Jesus too.

Hello scouts. I'm on wildcard atm. Would be great to have an outside opinion 🙂

    Begovic, Boruc
    Mendy, xx, xx, AWB, Bennett
    Hazard, Mane, Richarlison, Mkhi, xx
    Aguero, Ings, xx

    A (3-5-2): Robertson, Alonso, Alli, 4.5 fwd, 1.0m itb
B (3-4-3): TAA, Ricardo Pereira, Kane, 4.5 mid, 0.2m itb

Looking at form players right now, I think the obvious choice will be A. I'll be expecting constant points from the defenders.

However, I see more potential explosive points (and more fun lol) from Kane, Aguero, Hazard, and Mane if I do choose B.

    What will be your choice?

I suppose it basically boils down too,
        Mane and Kane or
Salah and Zaha/Arnie or the likes.
I’m confident that my choice will yield more points.
        It’s a risk, I know...

    Lads, serious ....

I hate having Bennett and Hamer basically because they’re both massive drop risks, I’m on my WC and need to make .5 to upgrade one so I’m happier with my bench.

The only realistic options in my team to downgrade are either Danny Ings or Kante ... who are my rotation pair between 3-5-3 and 3-4-3 formations.

    So, the question is. A 4.5 midfielder or a 5.0/4.5 striker ??

Arnie imo. If Ozil is missing out then Laca may play today.

At least you linked it. Should be good to go with Ederson, Mendy and Aguero

    Still unsure on this one.

    Play Lowton or Neves.

    First to 2.

Missed a couple of sitters last week. I think West Ham will be a lot tougher to beat than the first game against Liverpool. I can see it being 2-0 arsenal but they will have to work for it.

Can someone explain the Guendouzi love for the 5th midfielder spot? He has looked pretty good but he is still only 18 years old and I can't see him being a consistent starter in the long term. Also, he seems to play as a defensive midfielder and eats up an Arsenal spot. Am I missing something?

I can see him being a consistent starter.

Think he will nailed down a place in the XI, even.

Ownership much lower than that of Stephens so his price is unlikely to drop.

As good a choice for the last bench spot as Romeu or sth. Why not?

Fair enough. I guess it comes down to whether he can nail down a spot. I have Zambo Anguissa from Fulham since he looks nailed on, not going to score many points but 2-3 points works for me.

Another good option for the 5th mid Fulham won’t drop him, looks good breaking up play. Only reason I didn’t go with him is because he hasn’t got the pass like guendouzi does at the moment

    Pickford
    Trent Alonso Mendy Cook
    Bilva Sane Mane Richarlison
    Kane Firmino

    Hamer Kamara Stephens WB

I like the first XI. If Kane really gets going soon for you then you're in a great position as long as Aguero doesn't go on a hot-streak of his own after the hat-trick last weekend.
