My team is in a similiar state, see below but no I think you should just keep this team. It isn't that bad and is a few transfers away from a very solid XI. The only issues you really have are RIcharlison Odoi Peltier (which isn't a pressing need since you have premium defenders) and Hamer

No, I wouldn't. I'd save it for a time where I felt I could gain a significant advantage. You knew Hamer, Hudson and Peltier were going to be fodder when you got them in, no need to change that strategy now. Richarlison is your only real issue.King back on pens should improve his confidence and could lead to more returns.

Wildcard isn't necessary imo. You have a strong spine to the squad, probably are looking at a - 4 though.

no way!!! imo free hit is best used in blankweeks where you struggle to get a whole squad out and need the help for one week only. it would be a waste for 2 players only now a -4 is easier to absorb then later a week where you can only field 6-7 players.

As much as I would want Ederson, I don’t want another city spot gone on a goalkeeper. Same with Allison. Be patient with city, I’m hoping a clear pecking order will be established soon. I’m still not convinced Bilva will stay in the team yet

He has probably gone for set and forget approach in defense which allows more use of transfers attack rather than trying different cheap defenders.

City have had 1 clean sheet in 3. Lots of 4.5M keepers can match that.

Yes, I think he is. If I had 3 City players it would be the exact same three that he does; as it is I just have Mendy & Kun. But I do have Allison so it's pretty similar in shape.

The reason that Allison & Ederson are possibles this season is that they are nailed to start at 5.5m. Ederson is thus the cheapest reliable entry point into a City defence that will keep a lot of CSs. He is also quite capable of getting some save points and BPs.

The main argument against it is price but since FPL compressed the GK prices a couple of seasons back, the advantage of a baseline 4.5m GK over a premium is smaller than it once was. 5.5 + 4.0 is only costing 0.5 more than a 4.5/4.5 rotation. In other words the value differential for cheap GKs has been eroded somewhat.

Sure, if you can pick the right cheap GK you will get better value than any 5.5; Pope was great for me last season. But if you don't yet know which smaller team to trust for defensive resilience then the predictability of a good 5.5m GK has something to recommend it. That's what I am doing until 1st wildcard anyway; hopefully I'll have a better idea about the cheaper end by then.

On the other side of the question, I can't see which City midfielder is a nailed-enough starter and they are either very expensive (Sterling) or they are going to be players that aren't super-reliable points-scorers. KDB should be 9.7m or 9.6m by the time he returns and that will be fantastic value. But I'm not sure I want a City midfielder before that, although I did seriously consider Gündoğan before GW2.

3/4 defenders you have there are season keepers. I would play them regardless of their fixtures. How I wish I have the same set of defenders :/
