A large portion of Fantasy managers are backing the key Spurs’ men for their Monday night trip to Manchester United.

Harry Kane (£12.5m) comes into the match as the most popular player and captained by just under 500,000+ managers.

Only Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) were backed by more in Gameweek 3, and the England captain needs two goal involvements to outshine them both.

Kieran Trippier (£6.0m) is the next most fashionable member of the Spurs squad, 24 percent of Fantasy managers hoping for a repeat of recent free-kicks scored against Croatia at the World Cup and Fulham in Gameweek 2.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea (£6.0m) remains owned by just over a quarter of managers, despite not yet keeping a clean sheet in 2018/19. Although with Spurs bringing plenty of attacking talent to Old Trafford, this match is unlikely to be the last straw for him.

The Spaniard is one of just two United players with double-figure ownership. The other one is Paul Pogba (£8.1m), currently backed by 18 percent following back-to-back converted penalties.

There will be some interest Christian Eriksen (£9.4m) and Dele Alli (£9.1m) with the Dane still just ahead of his English team-mate’s ownership, inspite of losing some set pieces duties to Trippier. Eriksen sits in 11 percent of squads with Alli in 7.6.

The secondary defenders (in terms of popularity) for each side are Luke Shaw (£5.1m) and Jan Vertonghen (£6.0m). The United man is in 8.7 percent of teams with Vertonghen in 10 percent.

SOMETHING ABOUT JOE AND WILLY BOLY.

    is this ridiculously knee jerky:

    Current Team
    Patricio (Stek)
    Alonso Mendy Robbo (Shlupp) (AWB)
    Salah Mane Bilva Cairney (Neves)
    King Aguero Zaha

    Thinking of WC to:
    Patricio (Stek)
    Alonso Mendy Robbo Trippier AWB
    Salah Lucas Kante (Cairney) (Neves)
    Kane Aguero (Kamara)

It seems like a bit of a waste of the WC

a lot is based off how good Spurs looked tonight. Was expecting them to have a world cup hangover but they seem to have hit the ground running this season. Initially i was trying to find a way to get Aguero Kane and Salah in my team, and Lucas at 7m seems a good second choice midfielder for a cheap price

So De Gea was a huge disaster and by far my worst pre-season decision. Wasn't comfortable breaking from my usual cheap keeper preference, but thought United would pick up a couple of early clean sheets and I had the money spare.

Have to get Alonso in now and 'downgrade' (upgrade? :p) to a 4.5. Who are we thinking is the best option? Haven't seen much discussion on this.

Etheridge - Fantastic start, but horrendous fixtures and won't save pens every week.

Fabianski - Save points very likely, but again, fixtures look rough and clean sheets are the bread and butter.

Hart/Fabri - Big rotation risks, as shown with the latter this week.

Hennessey - Great fixtures, but is he nailed?

Foster - Decent fixtures and Watford look a good outfit this season.

Patricio - Great keeper, but will Wolves get the clean sheets? Fixtures are mixed.

Begovic - Bournemouth notoriously dreadful for CS.

McCarthy - Mixed fixtures and Southampton looked very poor at the back on Saturday.

Ryan - Solid shot stopper, save point potential and CS at home. Away games expecting very little though.

    1. Chris_White
      • 15 Years
      8 years, 21 days ago

      Ryan for me

    2. stat
      8 years, 21 days ago

Pretty difficult to say after 3 games as only two teams have kept more than 1 clean sheet (Cardiff with 2 and Liverpool with 3).
Hennessey has the best fixtures but there's the threat from Guaita so it's anyone's guess really. Might as well go for someone like Ryan / Fabianski and hope for save points.

I'm thinking I want Fab long term, but might be better to get him after the WC, whenever I choose to use it.

I have Patricio but if I was to reassess id probably go for Hennessey, depending on what Palace players you've already chosen.

Palace are a good side and expect them to pick up CS through the season and if Hennessey continues his form he wont be dropped

        • 9 Years

I only have AWB from Palace but if I'm going with the Big Three at the back he won't play too often.

    In need of assistance:

a.) Richarlison -> Pedro (concerned about his minutes)
b.) Richarlison -> Walcott (transfer waiting to happen + already own Tosun)
c.) Richarlison -> Fraser (enables Mane > Hazard next week)
d.) Take price drop of 0.1 enabling 2 transfers next week to offload Bsilva and Mane if necessary.

Options A and B will force a -4 next week should I want Hazard, so currently leaning towards C.

If you keep Rich, who plays? Cos it'll cost you one transfer to get rid and another to bring him back, whereas of you keep him, you don't need to worry about value

Really need to get my head round this , so you watch a player and decide he looks really good, I want him in my team, he then goes on to get big points in the game you are watching, but now you are just chasing points.

    1. OldBenKenobi
      • 9 Years
      8 years, 21 days ago

Yeah the term maybe gets thrown around too often. Guess it depends on the player and he’s past points and performances?

    2. Desperately Seeking Dusan
      • 15 Years
      8 years, 21 days ago

If you liked him before and didn’t bring him in for the game you’re watching then yes, you’re too slow and chasing points.

      1. Desperately Seeking Dusan
        • 15 Years
        8 years, 21 days ago

Otherwise it’s simply hindsight bias. How many other players have you liked but not brought in but not thought about them because they haven’t scored in FPL? People only remember their winners that could have been, not the reverse. Just a common cognitive bias that happens in all walks of life.
