Patience is proving a virtue for the Scoutcast’s latest guest, FPL General.

With top 500 finishes in all but one of his last four Fantasy Premier League seasons, his track record of giving players time to perform has certainly paid off.

Undaunted by a poor start this season he is sticking resolutely to the game plan, with Christian Eriksen and Josh King already rewarding him with attacking returns last time out, while many thousands of others were jettisoning them.

He joins Andy, David and myself to mull over a tricky last set of matches and look ahead to Gameweek 4.

Replacements for Everton’s red card villain Richarlison kick off our community question session, which also takes in Chelsea stars, the seemingly unstoppable rise of premium defenders and Wildcard timing.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

    Is it worth a WC?

    DDG>4.5
    Robertson>TAA
    Mee>Alonso
    Daniels>Bennett
    Mane>Hazard
    Pedro>Walcott
    Richarlison>Mkhi
    King>Wilson

Rest of the team: Hamer, Mendy, AWB, Salah, Masuaku, Aguero, Zaha

When you can get a decent 11 out there’s no need for a WC.

Just ditch rich with the Ft

Potentially stupid question, but is there a way of viewing the detailed gw stats for a player for previous seasons, rather than just the totals? Thanks

you might find this in the members area under players stats, there you can change the season in a dropdown box if i remember right.

also this does the trick goes back to 14/15 if this is any help 😉

For a FT then it’s not a bad move albeit sideways if you have no other fires to put out.

United clean sheets will come and shaw looks good for maybe attacking returns.

I’d personally stay clear of United but don’t think it’s a bad transfer for free.

Seeing lots of ‘play W-B’ advice on here .... but will he start on the weekend ?

... Ward didn’t start in the Cup and only came on to give the CB a rest
    ... W-B played the full 90 mins

Surely Ward starts at the weekend ?

Roy said something about having to use some of the players that will play on the weekend and AWB is an example of that IIRC.

Hodgson after the Swans game: “It was difficult, we had a couple injuries, which meant that we would be limited anyway, and I wanted some players on the fringe of the first team to get a game. But with such a short turnaround, I had to use four or five players who either played at the weekend, or will need to be playing on Saturday. Wan-Bissaka was a classic example of that."

      1. Moosie the Staggie
        • 13 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

        Wow.
Roy must really rate AWB to come out with a statement like that!

      2. Hotdogs for Tea
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

‘Wan-Bissaka being a classic example. I didn’t want Kelly to play 90 after his 90 against Watford, but then again I don’t really have the substitute for him, so Ward had to step in and play a part in the game.’

For me Ward & W-B are required on the weekend, Ward starts and W-B in the bench.

    WC Decision.

    Original Team:
    Fabianski
    Alonso - Van D - Stones
    Pedro - Salah - Miki - Walcott
    King - Aguero - Firminio
SUBS - Wan B, stevens, suttner

    New Team:
    Fabianski
    Alonso - Mendy - Schlupp - Wan B
    Pedro - Miki - Hazard - Lucas M - Salah
    Aguero
SUBS - Joselu , Kanara, suttner

Is it worth it? Team is doing alright so far, but I feel this change brings in alot of quality with some good fixtures.

    1. Skhstanley
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

I wiuld sub Pedro with Walcott, he is not a nailed start now (or don’t play full 90mins) after Hazard comes back

      1. Razorhead45
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Yea I was thinking that as well, but stats wise I thought Pedro looked better even if he only gets less time. But 90 mins Walcott is probably the smarter move.

Other than that do you recon its a good use of a wildcard?

Yea I do like my original team, I just feel there are a few players who aren't quite performing up to their potential yet.

But I know that once I us the WC they will all smash in some points and I'll be left feeling stupid

  19. Eze Really?
    • 11 Years
    7 years, 3 months ago

The debate goes on about the premium picks.
This flavor of the week is Hazard.
The way I see it, compounded by the fact premium defenders are doing so well, one can reasonably own 3 and 4 if you are willing to suffer in multiple areas, or have the premium players at the lower end of the spectrum. I can't remember when there were so many players in the 10 mil plus bracket and the Likes of KDB Sanchez Auba and Kaku are not performing.

Let us take the people of interest over the next few Weeks: All hold a good argument on why to have them.
Salah: Points hauls are as last season and an obvious captain choice. 13 mil is steep but value is there.
Kun: Such an explosive player who is a threat to Salah as captain. 11.3 mil seems right and a great captain rotation with Salah.
Hazard: Points per minute is high so far and with fixtures to come is obviously a hot topic. Saving half a mil on Kun or 2.3 on Salah obviously represents value. .7 on Mane is probably a better comparison. Would you be happy to Captain him over Salah or Kun?
Auba: Done nothing yet but fixtures, new manager, position, and bad luck have not helped his cause. At 11 mil he is clearly on people's watchlist. Captain him though, I doubt it ATM.
Mane: The cheapest man in the group. Rewarded us well so far as the price rise indicates. Not really a captain pick at the moment and fixtures hardening, he is the candidate for Hazard.
Kane: Throw another 12.5 in the mix with potential to score big and Captain adds to the dilemma.

So we have six players, who, for different reasons we could want in our teams. All I know for sure is we can't have em all and nobody knows what the future holds.

My 3 players are Salah, kun and Mane (34 mil) and I can have good balance with 3 premium defenders. I would love to have Haz atm but I have to lose value, spend more on a player and swap him for someone who has already rewarded me. It costs me 2 tfr's to get him also.

So who is getting Hazard? People like me who have to make an expensive sideways move, those who go Salahless or Kunless. Or those who will have big suffering in other areas.
I would love to know people's thoughts.
