Patience is proving a virtue for the Scoutcast’s latest guest, FPL General.

With top 500 finishes in all but one of his last four Fantasy Premier League seasons, his track record of giving players time to perform has certainly paid off.

Undaunted by a poor start this season he is sticking resolutely to the game plan, with Christian Eriksen and Josh King already rewarding him with attacking returns last time out, while many thousands of others were jettisoning them.

He joins Andy, David and myself to mull over a tricky last set of matches and look ahead to Gameweek 4.

Replacements for Everton’s red card villain Richarlison kick off our community question session, which also takes in Chelsea stars, the seemingly unstoppable rise of premium defenders and Wildcard timing.

If I have 1.8 ITB, keep it or spend on
    Bennett to Doherty (or other)
    Kamara to Jiminez

Right..my turn. Peltier to PVA/Schlupp for a hit and bench Ings?

I'm not really gonna do that, just fancy the risk/reward.

thanks guys. Basically Ings has to blank, Palace have to keep a clean sheet for a 0 points gain but a strengthened bench. Think I'll just keep Peltier until WC then swap for Bennett. hope Peltier doesn't drop in price!

Schlupp mins under threat - pva great but expensive when compared against returns from mendy alonso robbo

Maybe according to fixture that not a smart move. However, looking at Chelsea defend, yeah Fraser is better than WB for me. Fraser can score, assist....so if im you, I play Fraser yeah.

    Mkhi or Moura on WC?

      Mkhi

    2. Dr. Ante Pavlovic

      7 years, 7 months ago

      50/50

Mikhi because of the fixtures and he is playing well, the main man in Arsenal attack organisation

Moura because he is also very good, feels so natural to roam around Kane and is even more up front than Harry

Both are not 100% nailed although in form, but I would go for Moura just because he is more offensive and more likely to score.

    3. Hurnt
      • 12 Years

I chose mhki so Moura best bet

    4. Thinkering like a Boss

Both seem good tbh. Moura has upper hand when its come to attacking. His position vs Man Utd can be match as good position as Salah. So Moura for me.

Going 5-2-3 this gw, what do you think?

    Kepa
    Trippier, VVD, Mendy, Luiz, WB
    Hazard, Salah
    Mitrovic, Aguero(c), King

    Bench: Stekelenburg, Neves, Fraser, Masuaku

    2. Tsparkes10
      • 7 Years

Decent however would be tempted to play neves over King... as Neves takes pens and fks and west ham are dirtyyyy. Also confidence after that draw against city 🙂

      1. Dr. Ante Pavlovic
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 7 months ago

Interesting point, thought about that and had my first team Neves in and King on the bench. However that would mean Im going all in for a Chelsea clean sheet and that frightens me, not so sure they will not concede although I have both Luiz and Kepa. So King was a 'just in case' pick if Bou scores hopefully it will be him. Twisting my mind right now about it, really don't know weather to put Neves in.

Tempted to tripe cap Aguero as usually the DGW TC fails anyway [many things support that Kun(TC) could be a great option].. but the hope of a huge haul in 180 minutes is what is stopping me from doing this duh.

Yes, he was a joke, But I still found it cringeworthy that the journos were actually laughing at him when he walked out. I definitely understand why he said respect - he shouldn’t have made a fool of himself - but I get it.
Laughing like that is just poor taste, but it just shows the level of some journalist covering football atm

I like him as a player as well. It’s a shame he hasn’t really had the chance to settle into his game over the last few years.
I hope they keep him for when Mou leaves at some point in the next 8 months

          For sure it is!
But I think he could have been even better if he had a manager, who has trusted and nurtured him in a different way. Luckily he is only 22, so there is still time for him to develop

I'd say 8 weeks is being generous. Woodward has put a 5-year contract extension on the table for Martial while Mou wants him out. Seems clear to me players are privately being told the manager will be out pretty soon, and maybe a certain Frenchman is incoming.

        1. Dynamic Duos
          • 12 Years

if this happens then Martial is straight on my radar, actually i am adding him to my watchlist now, but hopefully Mourinho realises that he needs him in the team.

Yeah it could be that. It is a plausible explanation at least.
Hopefully they don’t get Zidane. He would be a short term fix, which isn’t what the team needs atm.
I actually agreed with Gary on MNF, that Woodward and Mourinho need to get over themselves and be professional. Work towards finishing a decent season and look for the right manager for next year. Poch or a similar long term man

            • 13 Years
            7 years, 7 months ago

I suspect Woodward is on that page. He's copping a hack of a lot of flak from fans and the media, but it makes sense that if he knows the manager won't be around next season he's not going to hand over $100m for players the next manager may not want.

Everything is for sale for the right price.
My thinking is just that he has soon gotten everything out of Tottenham that he can if they are not a serious contender for some trophies this season.
Yes I know he loves the project and everything, but at some point I’m guessing he would want some money to play around with at a club, where he can really aim for winning the big ones.

      He's a good, genial moderator.

I do wish there was a little more...charisma (to put it tactfully) on the scoutcast.

Andy brings the solid, non-angsty, every-angle-pre-thought out common sense.

Az brings the madcap energy and screwball hunches that he actually follows, rather than just talking about.

Disable's often a sweaty mess like he's coming down off something, but he makes amusing selections.

David says "yeah" a lot. What are those books on the shelf behind him?

FPL General is a glowering depressive -- I bet things get smashed when he loses it.

    Inbetween two wildcard teams:

    A)
    Hennessey
    Mendy Robertson Bellerin Alonso
    Eriksen Mhiki Salah Walcott
    Aguero Zaha

    Hamer; Wan-Biss Costa Kamara

    B)
    Ryan
    Mendy PVA Alonso
    Hazard Salah Mhiki Walcott Fraser
    Aguero Zaha

    Button; Wan-Biss Bennett Kamara

I prefer a) with slight adjustments

      1. Downgrade Bellerin and play WB as a 4th def when necessary. This weekend a perfect example.

      2. Eriksen > Moura if fancy spurs or another ( Fraser / Pedro )

      3. Use some of the remaining case to sort out kamara. Vietto may suffice but Mitrovic hard to ignore if comfortable with fulham

Bookiboos say 43% for a CS.
You then have to subtract the chance of either Hamer/Hart starting and that chance of Cs.

      1 more Q.

Play Fraser over Ings (playing WB) to go for the higher ceiling?

Or Bench WB and play both Fraser and Ings?

i would try to play none of Ings or Fraser.

Not possible without a hit for:

          Kamara > up to 7m

          or

          Peltier > up to 6.5m

If I knew Trippier was gonna start every week he'd be straight in.

      Rather play Tomkins over AwB.
      Probably King or Jota otherwise.

think it's come down to this, for my team:
    A) PVA and Fraser
    B) Robbo and Costa

Thanks TM. Would you go PVA over Bellerin? Bellerin gets the nod with comparison tool and has slightly better fixtures...

Depends on Tomkins. Guess you already have AwB so maybe Bellerin.

    Wildcard team A
    Cech
Mendy Alonso Wan-B (Bennett) (4.0 defender)
    Hazard Lucas Walcott Mkhi Salah
    Aguero Zaha (kamara)

I have to always play one of Wan-B or Bennett depending on fixtures.

    Wildcard team B
    Ederson
    Mendy Alonso Monreal (Wan-B) (Bennett)
    Hazard Lucas Walcott Mkhi Mane
    Aguero Mitrovic (Wilson)

I play 3 5 2 for two weeks, benching Wilson(CHE Away) and Mitrovic (City Away) respectively.
Save 2 FT and GW6 Hazard --> someone around 7.0 and Mane --> Salah

    Thoughts??

    1. Francescoli

B looks more balanced. I'd go Bellerin over Monreal though.
