Patience is proving a virtue for the Scoutcast’s latest guest, FPL General.

With top 500 finishes in all but one of his last four Fantasy Premier League seasons, his track record of giving players time to perform has certainly paid off.

Undaunted by a poor start this season he is sticking resolutely to the game plan, with Christian Eriksen and Josh King already rewarding him with attacking returns last time out, while many thousands of others were jettisoning them.

He joins Andy, David and myself to mull over a tricky last set of matches and look ahead to Gameweek 4.

Replacements for Everton’s red card villain Richarlison kick off our community question session, which also takes in Chelsea stars, the seemingly unstoppable rise of premium defenders and Wildcard timing.

    i know most are not a fan of hits and me neither, but if i plan on taking a hit by gwk6 to bring in Kane for gwk6, then it could be a good idea to take it now?

    the moves I'm looking at are.

    Bilva to Walcott -4 now.
    find 0.5m from downgrading a defender gkw5 or gwk6
    Aguero to Kane gwk6

      Good luck planning so far ahead to GW 6 and that you'll ditch Aguero for Kane. You just can't plan that far ahead.

      If I had your team and I definitely wanted Kane gwk 6 I wouldn’t take a hit this week as you have good starters and a good bench. I’d save a transfer going into gwk 5 and then do it for free Gameweek 6.

      If Augero continues his form, he'll be essential. At 12.5, Kane needs to be scoring doubles consistently to go near him

      Don't plan that far ahead. If Aguero scores 4 goals in the next 2 games can you really still sell him for Kane? If Kane blanks in the next two will you still want him? What if one of your starters get injured or suspended? Now you're looking at another hit. What if Kane gets injured or suspended? Now you've taken hits and downgraded players for no reason.

      Nice team.

      My ideas

      I'd play Neves ahead of Fraser. I just fancy Chelsea to dominate Bournemouth. Chelsea's midfield three and Hazard starting might squeeze the life out of Bournemouth. Also, at best, Fraser will have limited chances.

      WHU are all over the place and I think that Wilshere / Noble isn't working and will be overrun by Wolves' silky midfielders.

      I think -4 for Alonso is worth it for this week. Any attacking returns / clean sheet pay it back and that seems likely.

        Good point about Fraser but he's just been so consistent that I feel like he may getting something out of nothing from this game.
        As for Alonso, it is mighty tempting even though I am wary of taking hits so early in the season.
        I just hope that he doesn't blank as soon as I do that!

    Quite a generalised question but...
    Do you try plan for next 2 or 3 gws or take each gw as it comes? Obviously fixtures are looked at but regarding transfers etc? 🙂

      I try to take a 4-6 week lens. More than that is tough as injuries and form change sufficiently to scupper your best laid plans anyway.

        No need to stress. Haz have skrewed me 3 seasons in a row and it feels like 80% of every manager who gets Alonso is ready go go -16 for him.

      I'm surprised Hazard is not close to rising. I got up early to do Mane to Hazard but Mane might rise and Haz won't, so I'll hold off another day and if I'm lucky nab a 0.1 to get me a better 2nd transfer.
