In the first part of this week’s set pieces article we have uncovered some interesting match-ups for Gameweek 4.

We’ve managed to uncover the fact that the side to have conceded the most attempts from dead ball situations in the first three Gameweeks will be facing the striker with the most shots from them – the stuff of Fantasy Football dreams.

Fantasy Football Scout members can view the data both in the Members Area and in the article below, where we go into a bit more detail.

Could work out longer term. Ings still a decent option, I'd be inclined to do it for free, maybe GW6 when Ings sits out v Liverpool. Ives you a couple of weeks to weigh up whether an upgrade might be better value too.

Talk to me about the best way to use the WC during the international break.

Do you trigger your WC this Saturday and fill your team with players most likely to rise in value, then tweak your team just before GW5?

    1. THE Wild Rover
      • 16 Years
      8 years, 18 days ago

It used to be like that but recently the transfer action just dies over international breaks and wc transfers don’t contribute towards price changes

Means transfers actually contribute towards rises/falls

But if you wc after rises you pay more. And why would you buy a faller?

              • 14 Years
              8 years, 17 days ago

No, make the transfers (so you get players you want pre rises) and then trigger the WC with final transfer just before GW starts. It means all your moves contribute to rises and falls (the players you sell). If everyone does this it makes the market more active

Yes, in recent years they didn't rise much but the algorithm has changed to be more pro-rise this season so could well be profitable again.

      Next two:

      Hazard BOU CAR
      Mane lei tot

I would say the odds are in favour of Hazard winning by more than 4 points.

Is Henessey are rotation doubt or something? Trying to figure out why he’s not highly rated in the members area/watchlist widget. Need a DDG replacement and I think he’s the best 4.5 option. Granted Patricio has good stats

Hey Doc. Hodgeson said something about the new guy being ready to start last week, so theirs a small niggle of doubt. Tough call in who to get TBH. Sitting on Patricio myself but not overly happy.

Regret going Hen/Hamer as they have the potential to lose their place. Hamer likely to have lost it already. Don’t like rotating 4.5s as I always seem to bench the highest scoring one.

    A)
    Ryan

    Robertson / Alonso / Mendy

    Salah / Mane / Moura / Mkhi

    Aguero / Mitrovic / Wilson

    Button / AWB / Kante / Bennett

    B)
    Ryan

    Robertson / Alonso / Mendy

    Salah / Hazard / Moura / Gündogan

    Fab Hennessey
    Alonso Robbo Mendy Laporte WB

Downgrade Laporte to a playing 4 mil defender (Bennett Wolves) as are you really going to go with more than 3 at the back and you have Mendy already. Downgrade Maddison to a 4.5 and use the money from
Both of these to upgrade Kamara to Wilson or Mitrovic.

      Apart from that looks great!

Ben Davies to Alonso for a -4?

Now this may seem like a simple one, but i'll present an argument against the move.

Chelsea look poor in defense so far, which is the meat and drink of defenders imo - clean sheet points. Offensively the stats don't appear to show a continuation of Alonso points either. His price is quite high at this stage for a defender.

On the other hand Spurs defense look decent and on paper are quite strong. B. Davies offensive stats don't look bad. The rotation risk is something you have to accept. If he starts more 4/5 games i'd be content.

    ...SO...B. Davies to Alonso?

    1. conorbon
      • 13 Years
      8 years, 18 days ago

Alonso will always start and he is on free kicks sometimes and a goal/assist magnet. Davies is a real rotation risk with Rose especially after Utd game.

      Your call tho.

My issue with that is everyone will captain Aguero I reckon so not alot of ground to be gained by using the TC.

Likelihood of Tomkins playing this GW? Worried he may drop tonight, should he stay or should he go...

If he goes there will be trouble
And if he stays it will be double

Seriously though I have no idea, just couldn't resist the reference. If your bench can cope without having to replace him, hold on to him. 🙂

Haha, bench should provide 2-3pts but Tomkins price drop is more painful

Take it on the chin, 0.1 isn't the end of the world, but it is annoying 😉

          Guessing you've used all FT?

I still have denominations of .5 and when a player drops, it's like losing 1.0. as you need another 0.5 to pay that 0.1. (may not make sense)

Anyway, I do have a FT and had been thinking PVA or Tarkowski but prefer to use transfer elsewhere in my team next week

      I think A.

Even though Richarlison won't play this week, with 2.1 in the bank you are wasting money having a 4.9 and an 8.8.

Upgrading Cairney gets you Pedro, upgrading Richarlison gets you...still Pedro (or Moura). The options in the 8.5 range aren't much better than the 7 range. and When Richa comes back, you'll be better off than if you had to re-buy him. Next time, I'd probably avoid having that much money in the bank, tbh.

    How's this team for now?

    Ryan
    Alonso, Mendy, Robbo
    Salah, Mane, Groß, Pedro
    Agüero, Mitro, Ings

    Fabri, Pereira, AWB, Guendouzi

Was thinking about one of these in 2 GWs:

    1) Pereira + Pedro -> Davies + Fraser
    2) Pereira + Pedro + Mane -> Shaw + Fraser + Hazard (over 3 GWs to avoid hit)

Want to get rid of Foster, Fabianski, Shaw, Townsend, King and Tosun for Ederson, Hamer, Trippier, Mitrovic, Kamara and one of Pereyra, Pedro and Moura.

    Worth my WC?

    Already switched Richarlison to Walcott.

Rest of team is Mendy, Robertson, Alonso, Salah, Walcott, Mkhitaryan, Fraser and Aguero.
