Gameweek 4’s Sunday Fantasy Premier League matches look set to be heavily effected by set pieces this weekend.

In the second part of our regular set piece match-ups article, we’ve noticed some more areas for exploitation and had a look at the underlying numbers behind Wolves’ goals so far to see if they are sustainable.

Fantasy Football Scout members can view the data both in the Members Area and in the article below, where we go into a bit more detail.

4.5m Midfielders, who we all going for?

Stephens - Guarentees starts, not going to get any attacking points but maybe the odd CS point

Westwood - As above but maybe at risk when Defour returns

Masuaku - Reverse OOP but could still provide Assists, rotation risk with Cresswell

Schneiderlin - Possibly back from injury, similar to Stephens and Westwood but with more Assist/Goal threat

Guendouzi - Great fixtures, not going to be providing much attacking returns, is he a rotation risk with Torreira?

Any others? I want Guendouzi in but worried about rotation with him. Schneiderlin probably my 2nd choice but will he come back in. Probably end up with Stephens for safety of starts.

Stephens is probably the safest choice but he’s very close to a price drop.

So have I, he’ll start after the int break and will prove popular at 4.4 so we’ll make that loss back soon enough and probably have a profit in the medium term

I went with Billing from start
Hogg RC last game will see him at least start next 3
And with that height he surely has some attacking potential on set pieces

No, Bournemouth record signing, he's not started yet as only signed on deadline day and wasn't match fit, but he should be ready to start fairly soon. Doesn't offer much in the way of FPL points, but I would think once in the team he'll be fairly nailed, and Bou quite attacking too.

          Billing’s is good

There are goalkeepers more advanced than Stephens and he makes Guendouzi look like Messi 🙂

I think Guendouzi should get some assists throughout the season, his through balls have been excellent and looked the most positive and creative player at times for Arsenal in their first two matches.

Xhaka was subbed off for Torreira first two matches against City and Chelsea, which allowed Guendouzi to push forward a little higher and Arsenal became more threatening. However in the last match, which I didn't watch, Guendouzi was subbed off at 1-1 before Arsenal went on to win, which concerns me. Also, when isolated as a holding midfielder he looks like he could be a bit of a liability and is probably a big mistake away from some bench time.

I would love to see Torreira starting with Guendouzi. If this happens I think he will easily be the best the 4.5 pick.

I wouldn't waste a milf spot. They are an area of the pitch where you can get OOP players, boosting their value. Just get Kamara as a 4.5 forward.

Hogg won't get more than 3 points, but he should play when he's not injured or suspended. He was Huddersfield's captain for much of last season and GW1 this season.

But why don’t you see if he drops tonight? With a safe bet like Westwood. Then transfer Stephens in at, hopefully, 4.4. Easiest 0.1 you’ll make.

I just did that. It's really close between Bilings and Guendouzi. If you look at the xG per minutes and xA per minutes then in all likelyhood Guendouzi will outscore Bilings.

I agree, heat map shows billing further forward and stats in final third reflect this. Guendouzi in a better team. Billing is hopefully nailed this season after impressing towards the end of the last season. Billing for me.

Chalobah. Back in training, almost ready but not quite ready for first team. In a few weeks could be good with Watford looking very decent.

Who would he replace though? As you said, Watford are looking very decent with Capoue, Doucoure, Hughes and Pereyra - no room for Chalobah there unless there's a dramatic drop in form or injury.

      Kante for me.
While Neves has had more attempts on goal, they have all been outside of the box. Kante has had half as many attempts on goal (4) but they've all been inside of the box. I fancy his chances to rack up points more. Especially as Kante has created twice as many chances (4).

I've chopped and changed this several times already, it's not an easy decision. Cpl looks like a good C's chance but I keep reading about the Bournemouth upsets in the past and Chelsea's rubbish defence. I think wbs is the safest option...but king will be more frustrating if I left him on the bench if he does well.

Got Sane in my draft team.

Start him and hope Pep does too....or bench him until he looks like starting?

    Had Lucas from that start. I’m now on a WC and not sure on;

    A) Keep Lucas
    B) Get arif off him and go for Mkhi

I want hazard badly, who would you drop for him and why?

A: Richarlison to 6m midfielder (struggling for options at this price)

    B: King to Jimenez

    Couple of quick questions:
    1) Who to start from Foster (TOT) and Patricio (whm). Gotta sneaky feeling that watford might keep it very tight at the back
    2) Who to start Shaw, AWB, King?

Puel has lost 1 in 7 vs. Liverpool
Liverpool won 1 of 8 12:30 kick offs last season.

    3-0 Liverpool then.

    Assuming Tomkins will be fine...

    Play two of:

    A) Tomkins
    B) Wan-Bissakenobi
    C) Neves

Wish FPL would give everyone an extra dimension where you can toggle yes/no for each player whether you want a 10 min cameo to count towards a player's points that week. A lot more people would pick players that are explosive but prone to the odd rotation. Players like Sterling, Davies, Lacazette, TAA, Pedro spring to mind. It would make an interesting dynamic of having a proper playing bench too.

Now I want good games and Im happy when there are strong teams that they will play against.
    Do you have the same?

I think he'll do well but I think there are better fixtures. Newcastle can defend well on their day.

I think the best fixtures are Huddersfield & Fulham (H). Salah TC vs one of them if not using in DGW

I’d keep Salah. Too expensive for non owners to get in realistically, but his underlying stats are unreal and he’s a solid captaincy option basically every week

i've done this. it allowed me to get alonso also. i figure i'll get salah back in GW9 when liverpool's fixtures are golden.

i have a feeling i'll regret it - the safe move is to keep salah since he's got such a high ownership, but i was struggling to make any positive moves with 13M tied up with him.

    I have
    Salah
    Hazard
    Aguero.

    Who to captain?
Hazard has a great record against bournemouth but the other Aguero at home too...

    1. Tev
      • 8 Years

I’m not sure I buy into players having good record vs a team meaning they’re a shoo in to reproduce that, because teams and tactics change massively year on year etc. Taking this week at face value, I’d say Aguero is the sensible pick because he’s most explosive. However, Hazard has looked terrific since start of World Cup and faces a Bournemouth side who won’t sit as deep as Newcastle, also said to be suffering a few injuries. I like him as more of a differential
