We are taking the opportunity of the international break to do a more in-depth update of our Watchlist.

Each option is ranked according to different factors to help managers work out their appeal for Fantasy Premier League.

We’ve started off with the goalkeepers, which you can see in the sidebar of the website.

Ederson (£5.6m) remains at the top of the Goalkeeper section of the Watchlist with more favourable fixtures on the horizon. The Brazilian may have only kept one clean sheet so far in 2018/19, but a Gameweek 5 match-up with Fulham followed by a trip to Cardiff and a home meeting with Brighton all have great defensive potential. The latter two clubs currently sit in the division’s bottom three when it comes to shots on target across the first four Gameweeks. Meanwhile, no club has allowed fewer accurate attempts than Man City in that time.

Having been a reliable source of points for the first four Gameweeks, Alisson‘s (£5.6m) stock has fallen a little, on account of the tricky fixtures that Liverpool are set to face between Gameweeks 5 and 8. The Reds face a trip to Tottenham up next before facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Gameweek 7 and hosting Man City the following weekend. Those three sides have scored 30 goals between them so far, with City and Spurs in the top two for big chances too. However, the fact that Alisson and the Liverpool defence have conceded just once in four matches is enough for the former Roma man to hang on to his form factor.

Chelsea’s next match against a goal shy Cardiff side looks encouraging for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5.5m). The only sides to have conceded fewer shots on target than Maurizio Sarri’s men so far this season are Man City and Watford and, as we mentioned, Cardiff have registered a minimal amount in the other direction. With the next six matches for the Blues containing home matches against Liverpool and Manchester United it is difficult for us to attach the factor of Favour Fixtures onto Kepa, but trips to West Ham, Southampton and Burnley definitely save him receiving the Unfavourable Fixtures tag.

David de Gea‘s (£5.9m) stock has fallen since the start of the campaign but a first clean sheet of 2018/19 recorded at Burnley in Gameweek 4 suggests some hope for the future. Manchester United currently rank fifth for defence for the next six Gameweeks on our Season Ticker. After travelling to Watford immediately after the international break, they host Wolves, go to West Ham and then host Newcastle United in Gameweek 8. The Spaniard also benefits from being the only assured starter in Man United’s defence with rotation risk and injury circling above candidates for the back-four.

Asmir Begovic (£4.5m) ranks highest out of all the budget options currently in the Goalkeeper section of the watchlist. Bournemouth rank top for defence over the next six Gameweeks of our Season Ticker with some very favourable run of fixtures. That run includes home matches against Leicester, Crystal Palace and Southampton as well as trips to Burnley, Watford and Fulham. While Cherries defensive assets have not been so trustworthy in the past, Eddie Howe’s men actually rank joint-best with Liverpool for big chances allowed so far.

Rui Patricio (£4.5m) sits just below the Bournemouth custodian in the rankings as he also carries a B for form, largely Favourable Fixtures and the Potential Bargain factors. Like Begovic, he has one clean sheet to his name but has additional points for saves in three matches, compared to Begovic’s two. Where the Wolves man slips down a little in comparison, is a Gameweek 6 trip to Manchester United – although that is by far the hardest fixture he’ll face between now and Gameweek 10. It’s Burnley, Southampton and Watford at home with trips to Crystal Palace and Brighton also in the schedule. Furthermore, the only sides to have allowed fewer big chances than Wolves thus far are Bournemouth and Liverpool.

Petr Cech (£5.0m) comes next with the Favourable Fixtures facing his Arsenal side. The Gunners are yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season but there is no denying the relative ease of their fixtures; only Bournemouth rank higher for defence over the next six Gameweeks on our Season Ticker. Cech continues to come with the factor of Rotation Risk with new signing Bernd Leno (£5.0m) still waiting to make his first start of the campaign.

Wayne Hennessey (£4.5m) has several factors in his favour too. His penalty save against Southampton, a clean sheet in Gameweek 1 and extra points for saves in every match so far ensure an A for form. On top of his Potential Bargain factor he also some appealing fixtures, especially in the next two. It’s a trip to Huddersfield and then a home meeting with Newcastle after that. Hennessey would probably be a little higher in the Watchlist if Palace did not rank second-worst for big chances allowed so far this season.

Southampton’s Alex McCarthy (£4.5m) has the potential to be a bargain this season and enters the watchlist after a second clean sheet of the season in Gameweek 4. We are only four matches into the campaign, but the former Reading shot stopper currently ranks second for total saves made, earning him additional points in every match. The Saints next fixture is a home encounter with a travel sick Brighton side and has great clean sheet potential but after that, it’s a trip to Liverpool in Gameweek 6 before Wolves in Gameweek 7 and Chelsea in Gameweek 8. McCarthy’s form thus far suggests he could keep two shutouts in the next four matches as well additionals for saves against the two big-hitters, but we’ll have to see.

Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) has not had a hugely productive start to the campaign but has done well considering the difficulty of fixtures he has participated in. An additional point for saves made was chalked up at Old Trafford in Gameweek 1 and at Southampton in Gameweek 3, on top of the clean sheet secured against Wolves. The schedule eases up now for the Foxes with Huddersfield and Newcastle among their next four opponents.

First year of playing properly... can anyone link an article or explain how player rises and falls effect transfer value, I.e. how much delta there has to be for it to have an effect.

    Thanks

It's different, but some interesting picks nonetheless.

        Azpi > Alonso
Drop Hennessey or Tomkins as 3 Palace at the back is risky (I have Henn and WB)
        Sanchez > Hazard
Firminio > Vardy / Jiminez / Mitro to free up funds
Replace Pereira with someone who plays

          Aubameyang > Jesus
Firmino > Sturij (His stats is insanely good).
Arnautovic > Jordan Ayew. Gotta have him. Very cheap and great fixture

Used my FT to do Bellerin > Doherty, now have 1.1m ITB. A few ?'s in Midfield but fixtures all round look good. Any other moves to make? Also, thoughts on bench and order for next GW?

    Hennessey
    Mendy / Doherty / Alonso
    Hazard (c) / Gündogan / Pedro / Walcott
    Wilson / Aubameyang / Agüero

    Fabianski / Mkhitaryan / Pereira / Wan-Bissaka

    Cheers lads

FYI - I took a punt on no Liverpool cover when I used my WC last week. Gonna wait until GWs 9 & 10 to restock

Originally thought going Salah-less for a few weeks by taking out Daniels and Salah for Alonso and Hazard (as oppose to just replacing Robertson with Alonso and not incurring a hit) was inspired especially as captaining Hazard for GW5 would justify my actions ... Then realised that captaining Aguero instead against a Fulham side that have already conceded nine goals this season is a better option. Pangs of regret for impetuousness.

Moura because he has a better chance of being nailed however wont know that for a few gameweeks as Son might be eased back. And Moura much more attacking than Pedro in terms of tactics. Dont think Pedro can keep the high level he has set. Both are great if only they were nailed. Not sure at this stage.

Auba and Mkhi is the risk as you might be aware. Rest is good. I am staying away from Arsenal until I see a settled starting 11 and good results but it could work to be early if they start racking up the points.

Ederson to 4.5 & 5.0 keeper and upgrade 4.5 to Hughes or some other 5.0. 3rd striker missing.

Im new around and Just have a few questions I need people's opinions on while currently wildcarding:

    - what is Son's current situation/is Moura a long term option?

-Mitrovic or Wilson? (Mitro firing atm but Wilson has nice run of fixt)

-Other than Kun & Mendy who's next best city option for next while?

-Finally, is bringing in lingard a risky move?

    Any reply appreciated, thanks!!

Son should be back after international break, therefore Moura isn't a long term option.

      Mitrovic, he has amazing stats.

Ederson is probably the most nailed, so I'd say him.

Lingard is risky yeah, don't think Mourinho knows his best team

Wouldnt get Moura now because Son can start any game now.

      Mitrovic and Fraser !

2 from City is enough, would not get ederson cause hes getting no savnes og bonuspoints. Monitor Dilva and Sterling.

Lingard could be a good options. Would pick over Moura. But would get Maddison og Vardy from leicester first

No one knows, maybe not even Poch. Moura is playing well and should be nailed but its anyones guess if he will be rotated with Son.
      Wilson
      Walker / Ederson
      Yes no Lingard

I think if Poch reverts to a 4 at the back formation, there's a chance Alli gets dropped.

Son-Kane-Moura upfront is a possibility with Eriksen in the hole behind Kane. It's all a wait and watch tho.

            Same.

But I'm just hoping he does. Moura is in fine form and Son - well, he's way better a player than Alli in all aspects of the game.

Moura is never long term option.

If you looking at short term, I say Wilson. He has the fixture and also goal scoring power too. But Mitro will probably outscore him by the end of season. Let see.

Ederson. No one nailed enough to give warrant in our team. Hence, Ederson

I say yes it risky. Better monitor him on international friendly and decide later.

    Patricio
    Walker Mendy Alonso Robbo
    Haz Mane Kante
    Arnie Kun Ings
    (Stek AWB Cairney Rich)

    a) Arnie > Vardy
    b) Arnie > Laca

    Hi guys,

I think the key to the W/C atm is to make a strong all around team... I've tried to keep this in mind when building.

What do you guys think of: New GW team (pending injurys)

    Patrício

    Mendy Holebas Alonso

Hazard Pedro David Silva Lucas Moura Mané

    Wilson Agüero

Hamer / Mitrovic (to be rotated with a mid in upcoming games) / Wan-Bissaka / Bennett

OR: is it better to have 'cheap' bench fodder instead of having to be forced to bench premium mids / or wilson?

    Feedback is appreciated

I like to keep the money in my playing 11 so I would downgrade one of the players who will feature most on the bench. But its a good team and sometimes rotation does work quite well.

Love the team. Patricio is a wise pick. Bournemouth defense to 4.5 may be a shout, given their underlying defensive stats and future fixtures. Rico has overtaken Daniel's spot, whatever effect that will have on their defensive style will be interesting to monitor. Should strengthen their CS potential, but lessen the attacking threat somewhat (Daniels over Rico, there).

Frontline is the meta itself. Too meta? I have concerns about Mitrovic, because he's the beneficiary when Fullham has position. That's the kind of play that suits him, and why he's a monster versus deep-lying teams. However, in Fullham's next games, they'll face City, Watford and Arsenal. Two of those will control the posession, making Fullham rely more on counter chances, which is the kind of football that suits their mids (Ryan, Schurrle) and Vietto better. Watford have shown themselves to be a team on form, and particularly their midfield duo have been good at controlling games. GW8 versus Cardiff is the next game tailor made for Fullham's style of football, and Mitro as a target man in the box will benefit.

Hazard and David Silva in midfield, love that. Mane is ok, but he's got history of falling behind Salah against the top 6 sides, in particular. Would consider downgrading him to allow for a premium second striker (see comments above on Mitrovic).

Some final food for thought: Considered Trippier and 4.5/5.5 midfielder over a 4.5 defender and Pedro/Moura/ Maddison/(Arsenal midfielder)?

Who would you get out to afford Vardy, Kane, Auba if the need arose?

Anyway, I really like the team. Just tossing out a few thoughts in case one or two sparks something in your mental map of what the WC team should look like.

Maddison looks nailed and gets into dangerous positions and should be the one setting up Vardy on most occasions apart from scoring a few himself.

Ghezzal is more like a cheeky punt, that's it.

Not planning on wildcarding but as Zaha likely to be about for a bit I was thinking

Salah + Zaha to Hazard + Vardy

    Mad or inspired?

Rest of team is pretty much the template team ( Aguero up front - Alonso/Mendy/Robertson def and Mane/Walcott/Mhiki in mid)
