Went pretty early with my FT's. Had 0.1 spare and Alonso and Peltier were rising and falling so just went for it on the basis I've Costa (BUR) and AWB (Hud) to fall back on. WC in back pocket if things go badly wrong.

Mo, Kun, Haz & Big 3 def's and the usual types in a 3-4-3. Mkhi > Maddy

Looking pretty good and with 1.1 ITB. Took the risk of an early 2FTs, selling Zaha and Mane for Jiménez and Hazard. Typically play a more patient game, but on this occasion felt the price changes were worth it, since I have a decent bench and WC for backup. Also I forgot it was the IB. 😀

Not fully confident with Bilva, Mkhi and Zaha but the squad looks deep enough to cope. Need to redistribute my funds in the coming weeks but chose to upgrade Peltier due to my rotation risks.

I've had a solid start at 57k and plan to save my WC for the second international break. No Salah is a risk but one worth taking over these next 4 GWs imo. Hopefully Hazard can outscore or at least match him.

Mane > Hazard move is a calculated stats + fixtures risk and I think spreads the love better as 2 Chelsea 2 Pool rather than 1:3

I personally like Alli if I'm going to get a Spurs asset. Better still Moura if he can retain his place but I'm not gonna get burnt by that until we know for sure.

I think captaining the big players on the big occasion can pay off really well - would love to see some stats for it (like salah last year vs top 6). tripple spurs is solid for that week though

Could easily have been more. Teams sit back and he's in the area working with Haz! Can't see Cardiff 'going for it' so the stage is set for more.

Alonso has always had periods like this every season so far. A run of attacking returns, then a series of matches where he looks equally threatening but the only points he gets are clean sheets and he frustratingly gets outscored by Azpilicueta and the centre backs. Then as soon as you're thinking you can go without, he starts getting goals again. It's not easy to predict when the attacking returns will come, so the incredibly unhelpful advice is that he's a season keeper.

Chelsea has good fixtures for now.

Corkeysmurf was peddling the same weak argument on here a few weeks ago. I don't think you can reason "because a player is doing well it must be unsustainable" unless their stats are bad, which Alonso's aren't. His stats are beating last year, Chelsea look better than they did and they have the fixtures. He was adamant in sticking to his argument though, then Alonso got another double digit haul...

At first I still thought that Alonso would be a good option because Sarri likes to play with one outside back further up. I was wary about how long it would take them to get going under sarri though and unfortunately listened to the others on here saying not to get him (my fault 100% but wish people wouldn’t be so against you if you didn’t go with the herd)

Play min 4 mids imo, in the past I've tried to play 3 mids but didnt work out. As mid wilk have cs points anf more points for goal.

It's not a bad thing at all. Personally, I'm a believer that a balanced squad will lead to inevitable benched points - look at all the people who benched Ings for Palace defence for example. I think it is important to be able to switch formations with a couple of transfers max, however. For example, after GW2 I switched from 3-4-3 to 4-3-3 by getting Westwood for Jota and Alonso for Cedric.

OK, my current bench of Wan-Bissaka, Westwood and Gunnarsson is paper thin and needs some reinforcements, but by reinforcements I mean someone who can get 2-3 points and is nailed, not someone I'll be racking my brain over whether to play or not.

Funny looking at just 3 'decent' midfielders, can't stand the look 😆 So won't do it unless it's a last resort

I have Aguero, Aubameyang, Hazard and Mane. Of those, I might get rid of Aubameyang for Lacazette but I need a couple more games to make sure Emery won't keep rotating.

No plans other than that - maybe Salah at some point if no emergencies present themselves.

I have haz, kun, and salah. Thinking salah and 4.5 fwd to Kane or maybe Lukaku and some midfielder (not sure who yet). Kane is a great captain in gw 8 with no other standout option. And surely he’ll outscore salah (Che and city) since he’s playing the two worst teams in he league
