There were impressive performances for Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andrew Robertson on international duty on Monday night.

That may be of encouraging news to their owners currently worried about whether to start them for difficult fixtures in Gameweek 5.

All that and more Fantasy Premier League talking points from another night of international action in this latest Scout Notes article.

SERBIA 2-2 ROMANIA

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) – 90 minutes
Nemanja Matic (£5.0m) – 19 minutes

Aleksandar Mitrovic continued his blistering start to the season by adding another two goals to his tally. The Fulham man has now found the net six times in the first five matches of 2018/19 with two assists to boot, one of his club and one for his country. In his last 30 matches in all competitions he has scored 23 goals.

Such form should ease any concerns among Mitrovic’s 19% ownership about starting him in Gameweek 5 when he faces a trip to Manchester City. The champions remain without a clean sheet in their first two home matches of the campaign while Fulham have registered more big chances than either of the sides to have already scored at the Etihad Stadium in 2018/19.

SCOTLAND 2-0 ALBANIA

Andrew Robertson (£6.1m) – 90 minutes
Kevin McDonald (£4.5m) – 45 minutes
Stuart Armstrong (£5.3m) – 45 minutes
Scott McTominay (£4.4m) – 11 minutes

Andrew Robertson was a standout performer for Scotland as they recorded a much-needed win over Albania. The Liverpool man has recently been handed the captain’s armband and he led by example at Hampden Park. Much of the play went down the left side of the pitch and it was Robertson’s cross for Steven Naismith that created Berat Djimsiti’s own-goal.

There was disappointment for the 6% of Fantasy managers invested in Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser (£5.6m) as it was revealed he picked up a knock in training with Scotland and missed the match with Albania. He is now a doubt for Gameweek 5.

Robert Snodgrass (£5.5m) and Callum Paterson (£5.3m) were unused substitutes for Alex McLeish’s Scotland side.

PORTUGAL 1-0 ITALY

Rui Patrício (£4.5m) – 90 minutes
Rúben Neves (£5.2m) – 90 minutes
Bernardo Silva (£7.6m) – 90 minutes

Jorginho (£5.1m) – 90 minutes
Emerson Palmieri (£5.3m) – 16 minutes

There was a positive update on Bernardo Silva after he played the full 90 minutes for Portugal as they beat Italy in their UEFA Nations League debut. The Manchester City man had revealed last week that he came out of a friendly match at half-time with a groin complaint, but his run out on Monday night allays any injury fears ahead of Gameweek 5.

Rui Patrício got another 90 minutes under his belt, which should come as no surprise. But there was another full appearance for his Wolves colleague Rúben Neves who appears to be slowly establishing himself in the international picture. Southampton’s Cedric Soares was an unused substitute again.

Jorginho was the only Premier League player to play the whole match for Italy. Chelsea teammate Emerson Palmieri made his debut for the Azzurri while Davide Zappacosta (£5.2m) was not in the matchday squad.

SWEDEN 2-3 TURKEY

Victor Lindelöf (£4.9m) – 90 minutes

Caglar Söyüncü (£5.0m) – 90 minutes
Cenk Tosun (£7.0m) – 90 minutes

Everton striker Cenk Tosun played his part in a dramatic comeback Nations League win for Turkey on Monday night. He provided the assist for Emre Akbaba’s first goal of the night, an 88th-minute equaliser.

Elsewhere there was a second full appearance of the campaign for Leicester new boy Caglar Söyüncü as he builds up his match fitness. Watford’s Ken Sema (£4.9m) was an unused substitute for Sweden.

Nope. Looks like your core of the team is good. Dont WC for peripheral players. Just King to Mitro and Mkhi to Pedro should get you 90% of the output.

Rumours of a fallout between Ozil and Emery are rife in the media.

There was one report that indicated that things got so heated that the German playmaker left training early after a particular argument.

"Ozil had an argument with coach Emery at practice this week, came out screaming," an ESPN source said.

It’s risky going Double Palace but if you think they have a good chance at clean sheets go for it.

Scout Pick Community Champion Lottery – Gameweek 5

Once again this year, we will have a champion representing the community to take on the Scout Picks every week with a chance to win a prize at the end of the season.

If you want to take part please email your FFS name and FPL ID number to community@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk by midday on Wednesday.

The champion will be selected at random at 17:00 on Wednesday and then asked to submit their XI by 10:00 on Friday.

This will require 11 picks, fitting into an 83m budget. There is no captain in the picks and the community champion must also stick to a designated FPL formation, and also must not include more than three players from a single team. Again, no chips or captaincy will be applied.

At the end of the season the champion who has beaten the Scout Picks by the highest margin will receive a £100 Amazon voucher.

In the future, the weekly champion will be revealed in the midweek Scout Squad article, which will outline the Scout’s initial thinking around the choices. Our picks and the champion’s picks will be revealed, as usual, in the Scout Picks article.

Should the community champion fail to provide an appropriate squad, fitting the budget and formation constraints, an caretaker manager will be appointed to take control of the selection to represent the community for the gameweek in question.

Submit now if you’re interested for Gameweek 5!

    Good luck

So many possibilities, too many if you ask me. Im on my WC and this is what ive come up with this far. All input is good input, thats my motto. So please, state your mind or forever hold your tongue.

    Patricio- Foster

Alonso- Mendy- Robertson (TAA, upgrade elsewhere?)- WB- Bennett

    Hazard- Mane- Eriksen- Maddisson- Billing

    Mitrovic- Aguero- Wilson

    0.3 itb.

I did think about going Kane, but he really does not look like he is in good form. Had Vardy in there as well, he might be a really good differential. I could downgrade Eriksen to Pereyra or someone around 7.0 and get Vardy in.

So, whats your take on this?

Zaha looks to be fit but Walcott out so far. I'm thinking Walcott > Maddison and monitor B.Silva situation, possibly replace him next week, looking to bring Rich back in when suspension lifted. Seem sensible or too much swapping? 1ft 0.1 itb still have WC

Maddison in seems a good transfer.

Although might be better to just save and do Walcott to Rich for free next week

That would mean playing Wan Biss and a midfield of Salah/Mane/B.Silva. Worried B.Silva might not start again which could mean Stephens coming in!

Both have thier merits. Im thinking B.Silva will start despite the 90min for Portugal. Plenty of recovery time and Mahrez was poor last game

On wildcard and have a spair 0.5itb

    A. Bennett > Doherty/Rico/Any other 4.5?
    B. Save the 0.5 for a rainy day

Isn't really anywhere else in the team where I could use it.

Thanks but I'm a bit concerned at thier clean sheet prospects in general and they Spurs and City after Southampton. Nice run after that though...

I'd be tempted to leave it in the bank as I'm guessing Bennett is bench fodder. Gives you a little more freedom if some of your starters aren't performing

Yeah Bennett is mainly a bench option but I do have Billing, AWB as the other two so not a first rate bench

Agree it's useful to have something itb for price changes

    Walcott to Maddison...
    A. Now.
    B. After pressers (might be a 0.2 swing)
    C. Next week and hope wally plays and scores

In same boat. I do want Rich back though, so would either be moving maddison straight back out next week or swapping B.Silva with Rich.

B or C as long as you have someone decent on your bench (Same situation here)

Hmmm thought big Ben said Walcott should be fine barring a setback. Did I miss anything today? (don't have him)

There was an article which came out later saying he would be out and was targeting the Arsenal game to come back. No quotes though, so who knows

Yep I am going to play mkhi over robertson - I would play awb however i am already on double palace defence and triple up would be crazy imo

Who do we reckon is the best 6.5m mid and under? Not convinced by Maddison yet. Any good 5.5 range guys, Fraser/Gray, we think is better value with that 1m going elsewhere?

fraser/maddison/schurrle/neves best options at that price for me

im considering ings + mkhi >> mitrovic + schurrle next gw

    A. Walcott + Fraser -> Pedro/Lucas Moura + Maddison (-4)
    B. Walcott + Tomkins -> David Silva + Doherty (-4)
    C. Walcott -> David Silva and play 4-4-2 with Lowton (wol) or 3-4-3 with Ward (che)

A or B looks good If Tomkins, Walcott, Fraser all out.
