Our panel of Fantasy Premier League managers have answered some of your questions in time for your Gameweek 6 preparation.

Key subjects such as how to get Eden Hazard (£10.8m) into our squads, whether a double-up on Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Sadio Mané (£10.0m) is still viable, and Champions League rotation are all touched on this week.

Once again, we had an overwhelming response to our request for questions. Unfortunately, we can only answer a handful each week but keep your queries coming in for the rest of the season.

Here’s a reminder of who is on the panel for your Gameweek 6 Question Time:

Chief #FPL Manager – This man has finished inside the top one percent six times in his career as a Fantasy manager and is one of the biggest influencers in the FPL Twitter-sphere

Lee from FPL Family – One half of the popular married couple who play FPL together and run a YouTube channel.

Simon March – Winner of FPL in 2014/15.

Question 1 – Chief FPL Manager

Having missed Hazard’s points the last two Gameweeks, is he worth missing another week due to my Salah and Mané double up against Southampton or do I drop one of them for the Chelsea man?

“I was fortunate enough to acquire Hazard during the international break, courtesy of my wildcard. I considered the Mané and Salah ‘double up’ as a serious option, but simply couldn’t ignore Hazard in part after watching his scintillating performances during the World Cup, along with his proven FPL pedigree.

“I also experimented with the possibility of having Mane, Salah and Hazard in one team (along with Alonso and Aguero) but it would have unbalanced and decimated the rest of my squad.

“Instead, I opted for Hazard and Salah, despite the Egyptian costing more than Mane. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but I took into account their ownership levels and concluded that it’s easier to switch from Salah to Mane if needed, rather than the other way around.

“Crucially, to his benefit, Hazard was given sufficient rest in the first two Gameweeks. But more importantly, I think he will feature far less in Chelsea’s Europa league matches than Liverpool’s reliance on Mane and Salah to top their Champions’ League games, which makes Hazard a must-have in FPL.

“Get Hazard in sooner rather than later even if it means selling one of your premium Liverpool assets. It may be worth considering this as early as Gameweek 6 in case Hazard’s price rises again.”

Question 2 – FPL Family

Aguero is doubtful and with Champions League football could be susceptible to rotation by Pep. Is Lukaku the best alternative?

“First things first, the Aguero heel injury doesn’t look too bad and he shouldn’t miss too many minutes through injury. In terms of rotation though, we could well see a reduction in minutes around the Champions League.

“But having watched Aguero so far this year, as well as hearing his manager’s recent comments on his form, I firmly believe he’s their main man this year.

“There’s no doubt that Pep and City will be going all out for the Champions League this year though, so if rotation is a concern, then you are right to consider Lukaku as a viable alternative.

“With four goals to Aguero’s three, Lukaku already has a higher goal involvement rate than the Argentinian – and a higher conversion rate (26.7% to Aguero’s 12%).

“Aguero’s creativity can’t be ignored though. He creates a chance twice as often as the Manchester United man – every 32 minutes to Lukaku’s 64. As a result, he also dominates the Bonus Points, with excellent underlying BPS when compared to the Belgian.

“My advice: stick with Aguero. If you simply HAVE to transfer him out though, then look at Lukaku. However, also consider the value in the lower price brackets. Zaha is back and winning games for Palace, Wilson’s looked incredibly lively in a Bournemouth side with great upcoming fixtures and Arnautovic turned on the style against Everton in Gameweek 5.

“Given the clamour for premium midfielders such as Sterling, Hazard and Mané, the sale of Aguero for one of the budget strikers, should surely only happen if you’re looking to bring in one of the heavy hitters in that position.”

Question 3 – Simon March

Whether Ben Mendy was rotated or injured, at what point (or how many players) does any absence due to rotation become unacceptable for premium players?

“It’s not a new problem but rotation feels like it’s becoming a bigger one. The best teams now have so many options in their squads, rotation is practically inevitable. In FPL, it seems like an added premium we pay for owning players from the biggest teams.

“How much rotation is too much, I think, depends partly on the position. Benched premium defenders can be frustrating and defender cameos are the worst. Overreacting and ditching players we’ll want in the long term is unlikely to be the answer, but frequently-rotated premium defenders probably aren’t worth holding on to either.

“I’m not sure the same applies to premium attacking players though. For example; because of how Man City play, Aguero might get as many chances in a 30-minute cameo as most strikers will in a full match. Assessing players by the number of opportunities they get to score, rather than by the number of the minutes they play, might be the way forward in a world that won’t stop rotating.

“It’s hard to predict who will get dropped but we know when players are most likely to be rotated; during periods of heavy fixture congestion, especially any involving Champions League football. Having a decent bench and selecting a sensible vice-captain become ever more important tactics during these phases.”

      personally yes, no brainer

Bilva-inconsistent, minutes are guesswork, produces one week, blanks the next.
      Firmino-improving, but not explosive

      Hazard-gold dust at the moment
Mitro-Firing at the moment, likely to keep up with Firmino I think

Wildcarded last week, and was planning Pedro to Richarlison this week. Should I wait on news on Mendy and Agüero, or just pull the trigger as none of them should be long term absent anyway? If one of them doesn't play, AWB at home to Newcastle to come off the bench seems a good backup.

23 pts on bench but the way rotation is lately I think it's great to have good players to fall back on. Don't be afraid to have a strong bench is what I'm saying.

Don't talk to me about Hazard mate. Spoke at length on here before GW 4 about doing Salah to Hazard from GW 4-8. 2 GW's later and Hazard scored 4 goals to Salah's none.

What about having all of Aguero, Salah and Hazard in your 11/15?

Interesting battle for second place in the captain poll. If you didn't own Salah who would you go for?

    A) Aguero
    B) Hazard
    C) Mane

And why? Does it depend on what happens in Europe? Who do you think has the better fixture?

Europe important. Im probably capping Hazard but definitely not if he plays 70+ minutes in Greece.

Leaning on Aguero for me. Just don't think Salah is in his best form plus Cardiff has the worse defence. Depends on a lot of things tho, like who plays in the champions league and how long etc. Will be sure by Sat morning. Don't own hazard

Alonso - Mendy - Wan Bissaka
    Salah - Mane - Walcott - Mhikitaryan
    Zaha - Aguero - Arnautovic

    Stekelenburg - Peltier - Cairney - Kabasele

Seen someone posting about going for a Mid priced front 3.

    With Aguero's injury/knock it's something I've toyed with. I'd be looking at something like Hughes & Aguero > D.Silva & Giroud/Arnautovic.

Leaving me with a front 3 of Zaha, Mitrovic, Giroud/Arnautovic

What's putting me off though is I like the option of having Salah / Hazard / Aguero to captain. Looking at fixtures there's times I'll want to be captaining Aguero over the 2 former, I just wouldn't feel comfortable putting it on D.Silva.

yeah, I've been thinking the same - GW7 is potentially awkward for that reason - putting it on a City player is kinda risky, someone like Son could work but again that's a risk

Too risky. One haul from Kun and you're ruining your team to get him in.

I agree, that's pretty much the conclusion I came to but still worth thinking about.

If Aguero was to get injured for 3+ weeks it would be the route I'd be going I think.

You said it yourself: a C/VC trio of Salah / Hazard / Aguero is key. Not for me.

A friend has asked me to manage his team during his office ML this year. He has no interest really in football and hopes to shut his workmates up. They believe he is genuinely playing it himself and offering sidebets to him. From what Ive seen, most of them appear to be casuals.
I generally do well in FPL and let him run the same team as myself. I suppose this is kind of unfair but I intend on letting him make some of the 50/50 calls on players and captains pretty soon. Hope to let him have his day in bragging and pocketing.
He has set this team up himself so it cannot be classified as a multi user can it? Is this acceptable or should I burn in hell? I can imagine some people helping they're mates or even the missus to this extent.

I do something similar with my brother's team so that it increases his knowledge and in couple of years time, hopefully he will be able manage on his own.

Captaincy decisions and some other 50-50 decisions are his own. he normally pick players like Eriksen/Mane/Salah/Kane/Kun/Arnautovic because thats all he know 😛

        Hey guys
A bit woobly week and i kneejerked hazzard and frazer. Not team looks like
        Pat, bego
        Mendy, alonso, robo, pva, wb
        Haz, mane, maddison, frazer, 4.4
        Aguero, arna, kamara
        0ft and 3.8itb
So 3 flags and 2 non players in the team. What do you guys think is the best if midweek goes fine? I was thinking kamara to mitro for a hit. Also who would you bench.
        Thanks a big ton

Where’s an @EtihadExpress with a handy Mendy injury update when you need it!?

A forced Mendy out could bring some interesting options instead of my boring Wally > Fraser which currently looks like I’ll be doing...

Anything worth a hit here? In danger of only having 10 starters. Thinking Mhki to Sterling or something.

        Pat.
        Alonso. Robbo. PVA. AWB. Mendy*.
        Hazard(c). Mané. Fraser.
        Kun*. King.

Hamer. Mkhi*. Kamara*. Gunnarson*. 4mil itb.

hmm I'd just do Mkhi then - Sterling could be great but obviously carries risk, I'd be tempted - Alli/Son if not

        2. MTPockets
            7 years, 3 months ago

Yeah Mkhi out. But in that situation definitely worth waiting to see who plays in all midweek games first, including Arsenal game.

If Mendy's out I'd be very tempted with Sane. If he's not then yeah Silva/Sterling.

1.8m more explosive? We don't really have info to go on yet anyway - just the first game when Mendy out Sane starts. Think I'd get Silva over both anyway; seems pretty nailed until KDB back.

I wouldn't do any hit tbh neitherWC, just improve the team every GW. And use the WC closer towards the end of the year.

If you are having hard time fielding enough player, how about changing kamara instead of mikh? Mikh can atleast give you a 1 pointer in worst case. Kamara wont give you anything.
