Our panel of Fantasy Premier League managers have answered some of your questions in time for your Gameweek 6 preparation.

Key subjects such as how to get Eden Hazard (£10.8m) into our squads, whether a double-up on Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Sadio Mané (£10.0m) is still viable, and Champions League rotation are all touched on this week.

Once again, we had an overwhelming response to our request for questions. Unfortunately, we can only answer a handful each week but keep your queries coming in for the rest of the season.

Here’s a reminder of who is on the panel for your Gameweek 6 Question Time:

Chief #FPL Manager – This man has finished inside the top one percent six times in his career as a Fantasy manager and is one of the biggest influencers in the FPL Twitter-sphere

Lee from FPL Family – One half of the popular married couple who play FPL together and run a YouTube channel.

Simon March – Winner of FPL in 2014/15.

Question 1 – Chief FPL Manager

Having missed Hazard’s points the last two Gameweeks, is he worth missing another week due to my Salah and Mané double up against Southampton or do I drop one of them for the Chelsea man?

“I was fortunate enough to acquire Hazard during the international break, courtesy of my wildcard. I considered the Mané and Salah ‘double up’ as a serious option, but simply couldn’t ignore Hazard in part after watching his scintillating performances during the World Cup, along with his proven FPL pedigree.

“I also experimented with the possibility of having Mane, Salah and Hazard in one team (along with Alonso and Aguero) but it would have unbalanced and decimated the rest of my squad.

“Instead, I opted for Hazard and Salah, despite the Egyptian costing more than Mane. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but I took into account their ownership levels and concluded that it’s easier to switch from Salah to Mane if needed, rather than the other way around.

“Crucially, to his benefit, Hazard was given sufficient rest in the first two Gameweeks. But more importantly, I think he will feature far less in Chelsea’s Europa league matches than Liverpool’s reliance on Mane and Salah to top their Champions’ League games, which makes Hazard a must-have in FPL.

“Get Hazard in sooner rather than later even if it means selling one of your premium Liverpool assets. It may be worth considering this as early as Gameweek 6 in case Hazard’s price rises again.”

Question 2 – FPL Family

Aguero is doubtful and with Champions League football could be susceptible to rotation by Pep. Is Lukaku the best alternative?

“First things first, the Aguero heel injury doesn’t look too bad and he shouldn’t miss too many minutes through injury. In terms of rotation though, we could well see a reduction in minutes around the Champions League.

“But having watched Aguero so far this year, as well as hearing his manager’s recent comments on his form, I firmly believe he’s their main man this year.

“There’s no doubt that Pep and City will be going all out for the Champions League this year though, so if rotation is a concern, then you are right to consider Lukaku as a viable alternative.

“With four goals to Aguero’s three, Lukaku already has a higher goal involvement rate than the Argentinian – and a higher conversion rate (26.7% to Aguero’s 12%).

“Aguero’s creativity can’t be ignored though. He creates a chance twice as often as the Manchester United man – every 32 minutes to Lukaku’s 64. As a result, he also dominates the Bonus Points, with excellent underlying BPS when compared to the Belgian.

“My advice: stick with Aguero. If you simply HAVE to transfer him out though, then look at Lukaku. However, also consider the value in the lower price brackets. Zaha is back and winning games for Palace, Wilson’s looked incredibly lively in a Bournemouth side with great upcoming fixtures and Arnautovic turned on the style against Everton in Gameweek 5.

“Given the clamour for premium midfielders such as Sterling, Hazard and Mané, the sale of Aguero for one of the budget strikers, should surely only happen if you’re looking to bring in one of the heavy hitters in that position.”

Question 3 – Simon March

Whether Ben Mendy was rotated or injured, at what point (or how many players) does any absence due to rotation become unacceptable for premium players?

“It’s not a new problem but rotation feels like it’s becoming a bigger one. The best teams now have so many options in their squads, rotation is practically inevitable. In FPL, it seems like an added premium we pay for owning players from the biggest teams.

“How much rotation is too much, I think, depends partly on the position. Benched premium defenders can be frustrating and defender cameos are the worst. Overreacting and ditching players we’ll want in the long term is unlikely to be the answer, but frequently-rotated premium defenders probably aren’t worth holding on to either.

“I’m not sure the same applies to premium attacking players though. For example; because of how Man City play, Aguero might get as many chances in a 30-minute cameo as most strikers will in a full match. Assessing players by the number of opportunities they get to score, rather than by the number of the minutes they play, might be the way forward in a world that won’t stop rotating.

“It’s hard to predict who will get dropped but we know when players are most likely to be rotated; during periods of heavy fixture congestion, especially any involving Champions League football. Having a decent bench and selecting a sensible vice-captain become ever more important tactics during these phases.”

    Current team:
    Foster - Hamer
    VVD - Alonso - Mendy - WB - Doherty
    Mane - Salah - Fraser - Cairney - Stephens
    Auba - Aguero - Success

Auba + Cairney + VVD --> Mitro + Haz + Bennett (-4) is what i want to do.

    Is it worth it?

No, I don't think so. The best out of your proposed trio is Mitrovic. Next Hazard and then Bennett. I'd stick with your current three

Don't you think Hazard could be really really essential this season? Sarri's chat about him and the way Chelsea are playing.... I can''t see Auba and VVD outscoring Haz and Mitro, even this weekend

Not worth it just for the sake of a transfer when you can get more output from another, cheaper alternative and Salah's upcoming 'tough' games...

Waste of transfers if your just going to be swapping between them all the time. Pick one and stay with it for a good few weeks

Not worth it IMO. I think they will both have decent returns so it's a futile exercise.
Only other solution if you're so concerned about this would be to own both but you'll have to do sacrifices elsewhere.

The first GW where I'm really torn what to do. Mainly because of the aguero uncertainty.

My current team for next week is
        Foster
        TAA, Luiz, WB, Mendy
        Mane, Salah(C), Fraser, Hughes, Hazard
        Aguero

Fab, Boly, Ings, Madine. Have 1FT with 1.5 ITB.

        A) Bring In Mitro for Ings this week, possible wildcard next week
        B) Save my transfer and do Madine>Kane
        Salah>6.5 next week

I am just thinking aloud here:

If planned well you could use your wildcard effectively, especially if you have gathered a good SV amount.
That being the case you could prolong playing your WC till your SV reaches to a point where you could fit in that extra value player to your team that most would not be able to achieve.

The plan is therefore to gather as much SV as possible (also by catching price rises or falls before they happen) so that you can have a great WC team. I reckon with this system it is not recommended to play WC before at least GW 8 because SV might not be substantial enough.

        Thoughts?

I'd play my Wildcard when my team needs it, irrelevant of TV/SV.

Yes obviously, it has to coincide with your WC timeframe. But would it not be worth holding your WC for an extra week or two, if by doing so you can bring in for example Hazard and Salah without doing big sacrifices elsewhere ?

I'm doing this! Lucked into the "template" and currently up to 103.2 team value. Holding off on WC until injuries hit.

certainly helpful, but there is always a cheaper option available that ends up outscoring the more expensive one anyway - sometimes being limited by a slightly smaller budget can actually be helpful in the long run - wouldn't think about it too much tbh

Yes you are right that currently cheaper options seems to be doing better than premium players but in the long run I don't think this would remain so.

It also allows you to make early transfers because if sh*t hits the fan in midweek you can WC out of it.

Some of us didn't start with the SV accruing template, but in an ideal world then sure.

Ive thought about this too.. But it all depends on the sale value. And whether when you come to do the WC, will you want to sell those players or actually keep.. Which then means it could become pointless

          Alonso, Mendy, Robertson, PVA (AWB)
          Hazard, Mané, Mkhitaryan, Fraser (Cairney*)
          Aguero*, Arnautovic* (Ings)

A few issues after a strong gameweek (82 points, despite Fraser being second on my bench... D'oh!) 1FT, 0.7ITB, WC remaining.

Current feeling is to play the waiting game on Aguero/Arnie. If those two are OK I should be able to stick with just getting Mkhitaryan out to one of the below?

Nothing pressing. Dont like eriksen in your team but could return. Think you should simply plan for hazard their long term. BSilva may be the other fall guy in that manoeuvre but wouldn't do it this weekend

He has a decent rerurn and with vardy firing ut would have been higher. Himself Richalison Schurle & Pereyra the standout options imo in that price bracket. All those mentioned dont come with a rotation risk either so it allows risks elsewhere. My team at the moment is top heavy with roation risks. Looking to offload Pedro and BSilva in timr for that reason to thosr above. Which two thats another debate but all should do as well as one another with a little luck

The first move looks sound. Hazard is a three weeks time man for me unless you own as he may return this weekend also. A lot could happen too between now and friday. Usually does. Players playimg ninety minutes and so forth. Monitor haz for now

Isn’t five games of lukaku better than 3 games of Kun in the next few weeks?
Yes, I know I’m just guessing he will be rested twice, but with city taking CL super serious, and Kun slight injury scare, surely it’s a very real possibility, hence the question.

Fair but if you have a bench this isn't relevant.

The pertinent question is whether 5 x Lukaku is better than 3 x Kun and 2 x Sub

If we look at the full picture, we need to review your whole team as it might be the difference between:

10 Lukaku vs 6 Kun 2 subs and 2 other captain picks

Looking at a week 9 wildcard and dayum it’s tricky.

Trying to squeeze in the best Liverpool, City, Chelsea assets looks almost impossible!

For example, Salah hazard mane Robbo Mendy and Aguero on their own are hugely expensive, and working towards 60 million on their own!

How are people working round these issues?

Don’t know tbh. Lots of games to be played before then. My guess is that people will be moving away from the holy trinity at the back shortly. Lots of value in defense (Lascelles, Yedlin, Palace, Wolves etc.) You might want to go cheap defensively by then to be able to invest in attack.

          Mendy Update

Guardiola also insists that he has no hesitation about playing Fabian Delph at left-back while Mendy is out. ‘No doubts about Delph,’ said the City boss. ‘We know how important he was last season and now with the Mendy injury. ‘It could be weeks or days and maybe longer, having Fabian fit is so important.’

If he's out for weeks I'm activating my WC this week and bringing in Laporte. If anyone watched the City docu Pep and his team looked hard for a CB and they prioritized Laporte.

It's not an update, but on Laporte - maybe better off getting Ederson for that price if going for mci clean sheets, and getting another defender. He takes the odd pot shot but wouldn't have thought he'll pick up many more attacking returns.
