Spot the Differential – Lacazette and Sané ready to light up Gameweek 6

While the Fantasy Premier League community struggles to differentiate between three high-profile captain candidates, we’ve had a look underneath the radar.

Once again, we’ve picked out three players with below 5% ownership who could make a big difference to your Gameweek 6 score.

All of them have form and fixtures on their side, so why not consider them for your squad?

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m)

Ownership: 4.3%

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) looks like a fantastic differential for Gameweek 6. In fact, he is finally delivering on our prediction he would match Arsenal colleague Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m).

Despite starting just twice, and registering 276 minutes to Aubameyang’s 410, the Frenchman has more FPL points than any other Arsenal player.

In the last four Gameweeks, Lacazette has averaged 5.5 points per match, while Aubameyang is behind him having registered 4.25.

With his impressive performances of late, he is sure to retain his place in the Arsenal line-up for the visit of Everton. Crucially, he did not play a single minute as the Gunners beat Vorskla in the Europa on Thursday night, ensuring he will be fresh and ready for Sunday.

The Toffees are still without a clean sheet and have conceded 1.8 goals per game so far. Furthermore, Everton were demolished by a 5-1 scoreline the last time they travelled to the Emirates Stadium.

Olivier Giroud (£7.8m)

Ownership: 2.6%

Olivier Giroud will be licking his lips as the prospect of facing West Ham this weekend. The Frenchman has six goals and three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions against the Hammers.

Furthermore, he managed four goals and one assist in seven matches against Manchester City when they were under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini.

Maurizio Sarri was highly complimentary of Giroud’s performance in against Cardiff, making specific reference to his ability to get the best out of Eden Hazard. No striker created more chances than Giroud in Gameweek 5, and he came away from the match with two assists. This bodes well for his future involvement.

Giroud already appears to have won the role of first-choice forward at Chelsea, taking it from team-mate Alvaro Morata (£9.0m). He has largely disappointed so far this season and played the bulk of last night’s Europa League tie in Greece. Giroud, meanwhile, featured in just the last nine minutes.

Leroy Sane (£9.2m)

Ownership: 4.0%

Despite a tricky start to the season, Leroy Sané (£9.2m) could be a powerful differential once again. There is every reason to believe he can replicate his goal-scoring performance against Fulham in a Gameweek 6 trip to Cardiff City.

His place in the side looks more assured than usual with Benjamin Mendy (£6.5m) now ruled out of the match. Sané’s long run of starts last season was largely caused by the lack of options on that left-flank.

The fact that he already has a goal and an assist from just one start and 120 minutes of football in 2018/19 tells us Sané is ready to explode FPL points once again.

In fact, no fit Manchester City player can top his minutes per shot on target or goal attempt inside the penalty box so far; not even Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) or Raheem Sterling (£11.0m).

No side has managed more shots in the penalty box than Man City in the last four Gameweeks, and a many expect a heavy win for the champions in south Wales.

Sané’s increased chance of start and impressive numbers so far suggest he can play a big part in that.

I’m tempted to punt on Ozil on the back of 2 goals in 2 games. What are your thoughts on Ozil’s prospects? Or would you prefer Moura? Ta
