Scoutcast Episode 269 – Eggs

Investing heavily in Chelsea and Liverpool has proved a successful strategy for many this season. But with these two title contenders going head to head in Gameweek 7, is this ‘eggs in one basket’ tactic about to come unstuck?

David, Andy and Az join me to discuss the best strategy for dealing with these tricky ties when so many highly owned players are squaring up against each other.

We also consider the merits of bringing in the likes of Everton talisman Richarlison (£6.6m) and Arsenal’s newly sure-starting striker Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m), as they answer the community’s questions.

Tapping into Spurs’ fine fixture run, and in particular, the improving form of Harry Kane (£12.4m), is also on the bill. But will Andy’s ambitious plan to swoop for the Tottenham forward leave him with egg on his face?

Elsewhere, the Scoutcast crew look at Gameweek 7’s likeliest clean sheets and best low-owned gems, reveal their plans for the next set of matches and laugh and cry at some of the community’s roughest and smoothest recent transfers.

This Scoutcast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

    Would you wildcard this lot?

    Enderson (Hamer)
    Mendy* Robertson Alonso PVA AWB
    Salah Mane Fraser Maddison (Stephens)
    Aguerro Zaha (Kamara)

Or do Mendy -> Trippier for free
Or even PVA -> Doherty for free

Can only be kane for me. Aguero goes and he comes in but waiting for next week. Mendy downgrade to free up those funds. Wouldn’t rush aguero out for the world ahead of this week. Then he’s finished as an option for me

Team looking good and bench able to cover, but I think I have to get Richarlison in the place of a rotation risk like D.Silva.
    Would you?

    Patricio
    Alonso Mendy Robertson
    Hazard Mane DSilva Fraser
    Aguero Zaha Mitrovic

    Hennessey Bennett Wan D.Gray

Other ideas, possibly for next week too, are to downgrade Mendy to someone like Duffy, or DGray to Knockaert/Hughes/Moutinho, or more importantly to get some Leicester attack cover by doing Zaha->Vardy (exact money if I do DSilva->Richarlison)

D for me. Im 100% in your thinking but if another premium striker becomes the thing between now and your next WC GW 30 something, its going to be difficult. Many allready have had ad too many fires to put out in 6 GWs with Rich, Mendy, AWB, Shaw, KDB, etc so a seamless plan cant be guaranteed.

    0 FT / 4.2m ITB / Rank 157k

    1. Leave Pedro & accept forthcoming drop (bought at 6.5) and Bennett plays in any absence
    2. Take -4 hit & sell Pedro at SP 6.6m for any of the following (up to 10.8m)

Sánchez, Sané or Eriksen May be crazy but I’m tempted and can’t work out why. Differential maybe.

Richarlison and Maddison seems too boring for me right now.

Intrigued as for your plan for Salah back GW9 - I'm thinking Kane or Aguero + Rich or Maddison for Salah and a cheaper forward

    Patricio
    Alonso Robbo AWB
    Mane Salah Moura* Fraser
    Mitro Kun King

    4.0 Mendy * Peltier * Gunnarson*

    0 ft

Think I got 3 options and want some external thoughts . Obviously I'll wait on Mendy news

    A Moura --》 Ricchi -4
    B Moura --》 Maddy-4
    C Mendy --》 cheap def
C Wilcard ( I feel I'm getting closer every damn week)

Either of these allows a Mane --》 Hazard upgrade next gw.

      Hi Pumpkin.

I like A best. I'm doing Mane > Rich this week.

Nice team btw. I'd hold off the wildcard a little longer! I see you've stuck with King (I did too). Hoping for at least a goal this week!

I also like the Hazard upgrade next week. Could be captain material vs Saints.

      Good luck.

Hi Colin. Cheers for your input mate. Appreciated

Yes King has been looking better than Wilson last couple of games so hopefully hitting some form. A nice MNF game too 🙂

I've managed to resist Hazard so far but looks like I have to give in soon, Sadly

Good luck to you too mate 🙂

Got 2 FTs. Very tempted to go Salah and Zaha to Richarlison and Kane. Thoughts? Full team below...

    Hennessey
    Mendy / Alonso / Wan-Bissaka
Maddison / Salah (RICHARLISON) / Hazard / Fraser
    Mitrovic / Zaha (KANE) / Agüero (c)

SUBS: Hamer / Billing / Bennett / Robertson

Hmmm. Hard to see more than combined 4 points for Robertson from the next two fixtures. Trippier should get at least one cleanie over same period to cover the hit. I'd go for it.

Was at the west ham game tonight. Word to the wise... Rice is the next Noble. By that I mean, great English talent that gets continuously overlooked for the national team

He’s Irish tho ain’t he couldn’t handle the criticism of changing nationalities he’ll get his glory a proper player. We still won’t pay him more than haksabanovic (exactly)

Noble was a good to very good player in his prime and should have had a handful of caps, but he was never a great talent. I agree that Rice could really be a player, though.

If I WC’ed right now I’d probably take a punt on Kane. Salah + Wilson > cheapie that rotates well with Hojberg.

If it fails you can always revert by taking a hit to get Salah back in.
