Some people here saying they're not sure about captaining a Man City player because Brighton will park the bus.

I hope you guys are remembering that last season, with the exception of 1 or 2 teams, City achieved what they did essentially against a whole league of bus parkers! 😆

I would say the reason for not being sure of captaining a City player is more down to risks of rotation/limited minutes, and other teams with plum fixtures, more so that bus parkers - I agree, everyone tried to stop City attack last year, and I think it was only Palace, and ....Huddersfield?? that stopped them?

      1. FlockofSeagulls
        8 years, 20 days ago

That's an understandable reason however I'm specifically talking about those who are mentioning a potential Brighton bus as some kind of deterrent.

In saying that I think Aguero, Sterling, and D.Silva will start. I think the only one who could miss out is B.Silva if Pep wants to reward Foden with a league start, but that's just based on my own hunch.

        1. HamezMace
          8 years, 20 days ago

I don't dare to even try and predict who starts for City anymore!

But yes, your point is valid, City play like every Pep team has played for the last 10 years, if people think that all of a sudden the Warnocks and Hughtons of the league have figured out how to stop it, they're wrong.

          1. FlockofSeagulls
            8 years, 20 days ago

            You nailed it.

The odd surprise result against City will likely be down to an off day (or unlucky day) for City rather than an outstanding performance from a bus parking opposition. 😉

teams are learning tho ...so be careful, wolves and newcastle games from this season already prove that.

Since start of last season Brighton have 5 away clean sheets in PL (from 22 games).

Huddersfield parked the bus a few weeks ago and Kun claimed and assist and a hat trick. They can go park all they want.

      1. FlockofSeagulls
        8 years, 20 days ago

        Exactly!

Wanting to park a bus and actually having the personnel and/or coaching to pull it off are two very different things.

Revised WC, let me know what you think:

Patricio/Fabianski (These two rotate perfectly until Xmas)

    Trippier/Alonso/Robbo/Doherty/AWB

Fraser/Maddison/Richarlison/Sane/Ward (All talismen bar Sane who I fancy for this week)

    Kane (C)/Aguero/Mitro

Go big or go home with Kane (C), looking to ship Sane and Kane in 2 weeks for Liverpool assets.

My front 8 for the week-end, who to bench?

    Mané Hazard Dilva Richarlison Fraser

    1. Yordan Letchkov

Hughes 60% (Kiko and Deulofeu on waiting position)

      Moutinho 100%

      1. joeydelucchi

more like chalobah than kiko id say

      2. hornetjb
        8 years, 20 days ago

Hughes maybe 75%? Janmaat is out for 5-6 weeks, so Kiko is the likely replacement. Delofail has been injured since the start of the season - made of glass - think he will be eased back very gently. Agree that Chalobah is his main competition, allthough he could also replace Pereyra.
