Harry Kane (£12.5m) has swooped into the Fantasy Premier League captain conversation in a big way after his brace at Huddersfield in Gameweek 7.

You can now vote in our latest Captain Poll below or in the sidebar.

With Cardiff coming up next for Tottenham’s star man, interest in handing him the armband is expected to be very high.

Crucially, it’s another Gameweek where some of the usual suspects cancel each other out with Liverpool hosting Manchester City.

That means options such as Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) will be much harder for Fantasy managers to consider.

Even Raheem Sterling (£11.0m), who many have considered signing after consistent and reliable form, is unlikely to be popular this week considering the nature of his Gameweek 8 fixture.

Eden Hazard (£11.1m) is expected to be the biggest challenger for Kane as he faces a trip to Southampton. The Belgian scored his sixth goal of the season against Liverpool but has only found the net once away from home in 2018/19.

Differential options this week could be Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m), who will be playing against Newcastle, while some might even consider putting the armband on Kieran Trippier (£6.2m).

His game Vs Cardiff looks very good I agree but he does not fit very easily into my team and I have a game plan to stick too so I’ll be hiding behind the sofa next week.

RMWCT (bottomed at the previous article) ?

    Ryan | Button

    Alonso | Robertson | Trippier | Doherty | AWB

    Hazard | Mane | Richarlison | Maddison | Ward

    Kane | Mitrovic | Arnautovic

The idea is banking 2FTs for GW9 and then ship Kane and Mane to Vardy and Salah. Might be a bit sideways, but I still feel Salah will deliver. Away to Huddersfield I will have Mane, and Hazard vs United could be a decent captiancy option too. No City is a worry.

Trippier seems like a heavy hitter def too many. I might just go with Yedlin in that spot, and disperse the rest of money.

Richarlison or Maddison could be Knochaert, but it's just difficult to choose between the two.

Salah hasn't scored in an away game... that's what worries me. I could just captain Mane for that game and hope for the best.

Short term thinking. I could do Aguero to Kane for free but I honestly believe its not worth the transfer. Id rather have Kun long term and I need some transfers to get Liverpool assets back in after this game week, so rolling a transfer seems valuable.

Looks foolhardy to say the least. It’s a testament to Kane that he has the ability to drum up this kind of hysteria. But I’d put him behind Salah, Haz, Kun for the time being.

Its really not that much to have on the bench. People frequently have a ~6m midfielder or striker on the bench. It just feels like a lot because hes a premium defender.

Bench two of these muddy funsters:

    1) Robbo (MCI)
    2) Laporte (liv)
    3) Doherty (cry)
    4) AWB (WOL)

      Robbo and Laporte, madly enough.

Im genuinely considering Vardy for the captaincy. Havent picked a wrong captain yet and I really dont rate Everton's defence.

Can't be worse than my Richarlison captain this GW 🙁

So am I, it's very tempting. Still very surprised they kept a clean sheet vs Fulham, though. Not that they are all that good but they seem to come forward a lot.

Fulham were away and their midfield is pretty poor. In these mid to bottom table games, the home advantage really comes into play.

I dont like capping players who have had a game on thursday. Even if he doesnt feature, a lot of the first team will.

    Wan-Alonso-Smalling
    Fraser-D.Silva-Maddison-Hazard

    Lössl-Bennett-Billing-Connolly

    A. Aubameyang -> Arnautovic
    B. Aubameyang&Silva -> Arnautovic&Sterling (-4)
    C. Hold and play both next gwk for free.
    D. Other......

    Captain
    A. Hazard (SOU A)
    B. Vardy (EVE H)
    C. Arnautovic (BRI A)

Hold for me. Captain Hazard is the safer option.

Would be tempted by the double AA which is probably top of your thinking. Captain A is bang for me.

I'd consider the bench for Fraser against a tough Watford at home.
Losing Aub. against that Fulham defence is pretty risky, although I'm in the frame for Arnold too.

      So CA I think.

As a Chelsea fan my worry is that away from home, Hazard likes to drop deeper to seek out the ball, which isn't ideal from a captaincy point of view

He's harder to mark then when running from deep

But Sarri has told him to stop doing that

Those with 1FT - Are you waiting post CL games or pulling the trigger early?

Waiting unless Salah looks like dropping again.

      Better to wait

Waiting, too many players involved to go early for 0.1

Regardless of price, who would you rather have going forward?

    A. Sane
    B. B.Silva

    It's for a draft league

Probably A. Although he could play less minutes the more explosive.

what are people thinking on the big 4 prem def's at the back still? rob-alonso-trip-mendy(when fit again)

im torn between this back 4 (and awb) with :

    salah-haz-rich (hughes, lennon)
    arnie-vardy-mitro

or downgrading defence somewhat to fund:

    salah- haz -sane/sterling (hughes , 4.5)
    arnie- vardy- mitro

do we believe the likes of doherty and holebas are good enough and prem defenders are done or should i stick with Richarlison and keep the strong back 4, what would you do in this position?
