Fantasy Premier League managers cannot ignore Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures, even if the Reds have disappointed in recent weeks.

Jurgen Klopp’s men face Huddersfield (away), Cardiff (home), Arsenal (away) and Fulham (home) between now and Gameweek 12.

Those fixtures warrant investment but recent displays have complicated the debate over which Liverpool assets are the best ones to own.

We take a look at some of the most asked questions about Liverpool ahead of Gameweek 9.

Last year,Salah did not play in 3 games.
    Gw2:Liv-Cpal 1-0 Mane,
    Gw22:Bur-Liv 1-2 Gud-Mane,Klavan(Lovren)
    Gw33: Eve-Liv 0-0.

A highly strange article to put out with no mention that Salah is injured.

Which renders the entire of this mostly moot.

Anybody who believes he will be back for week 9 is living in a fantasy world. Look at the way he went down. He's pulled summat. 2 to 3 weeks absolute min I don't care with the Egypt coach made up on the spot to save face.

Friday press conference may give clue although more likely Klopp will say that late fitness test on Saturday will determine if Salah can play.

Sat down, holding top of leg/groin. Clearly very annoyed. They didn't even have a sub left. Just can't believe someone goes down like that and is fine a week late. He knew he'd pulled something. Players know.

Hope for him that just a strain. But even that why on earth would pool risk him next match with champions league midweek and plenty of cover.

Was that footage after or before he came back on again and decided to call it quits I wonder.
Just thinking if it was before, then maybe just maybe the disappointment he's registering is not as bad as we think.

    1. Kragbaek
      • 13 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

I think he's just teasing the press and joking a bit. He's in fantastic form and is without a doubt among the absolute best players in the world -- right now.

Messi is still a better player, but when thinking of Messi, one cannot only focus about this moment, and automatically thinks of the last 10 years as well.

Hard decision. I think it's pointless to say who's the very best. It's easier to pick more, and say they all are the best: Mbappe, Ronaldo, Messi, Hazard, Modric, Salah, (and the list doesn't continue more than a few players further further) ...

      1. FPL Mountaineer
        • 8 Years

Mbappe has made the dream start to his career by winning the World Cup. He's arguably the main reason France won the trophy this time. And with the way he's playing this season, it looks like he'll be the best at some stage of his career.

Even as a Chelsea fan, I think Hazard is overrated a bit. He's definitely a top dribbler and one of the best playmakers around. However, he can't be compared to the likes of Messi, CR7, etc., until he's more ruthless in front of goal and wins the big trophies.Obviously he has the talent and we might yet see the best of him under Sarri. So far so good this season.

Messi's talent is simply unmatched. It wouldn't be right to compare the two players. With regards to Hazard, I think he's supremely talented but also a selfless player on the pitch and that's why he has lots of admirers in the world of football.

Who's the best of the two possible bargains in terms of points? Pros and cons?

Their fixtures, the next 10 games, are pretty much similar.

Ings was really threatening in that game against Chelsea and arguably should have scored 2 goals with the chances he had. Looking at that, you'd probably want to back him in the next game vs Bournemouth (former club)

VVD and Lovren make mistakes when paired together. Gomez and VVD make fewer mistakes when paired together. First choice back 4 is clearly TAA Gomez VVD Robertson. Second choice is then Clyne Lovren VVD Moreno.

Don’t think it’s as cut and dried as that. TAA needs a rest, Gomez still relatively inexperienced. If Lovren hadn’t played a blinder against City I’d agree with you, but he did.

he could easily have two penalties called against him. For kicking Aguero and slapping Jesus

The salah news was very unlucky for those that held him through the tough fixtures. Anyhow, onwards and upwards

    Patricio — foster
Alonso Robbo Doherty shaw —- awb
Salah Maddison Richarlison — Stephens Camarasa
    Kun kane king

    A: salah > hazard
    B: Salah + Shaw >> Hazard + Mendy (-4)
    C: Salah + Stephens >> hazard + Knockaert (-4) and switch to 343
D: Take a punt (sterling?) and then WC in gw10 as planned to bring in hazard, arnie,Mitro, mane/Firmino possibly

Opinions on this WC team? Have 3.2 in the bank still

    Ryan - Hamer
    Alonso - Robbo - Mendy - Bennett - AWB
    Haz - Mane - Richarlison - Maddison - Masuaku
    Laca - Mitro - Wilson

    Maybe Maiddison to KDB?

    1. diesel001
      • 9 Years

Upgrade Bennett to Doherty or Jonny. Much more attacking threat for not that much more money.

Have a look at Masuaku to someone like Kenedy for a cheap upgrade and it will improve your bench.

Keep the money in the bank for an upgrade to Vardy, Aguero, Arnie (whichever one you want in future).

Maddison to KDB is a nice move.

Although I must say. Mitrovic will not continue his form

just feel like the way Fulham play they know they have to score a few to even draw a game and he is at the heart of it all for them

    3. jomikijiq

I would want at least one attacker from the best team in the league. Aguero, Sterling or KDB are all viable.

        • 11 Years

yeah only slight worry was around aguero rotation with champs league in mind? As with Sterling, and KDB may play a deeper role so wasn't sure at 9.7

I hadn't considered the possibility you could add 'injury doubt' to the weight of the cons list and still have a significant number of cappers. Sending him healing vibes

Monitoring Jesus minutes in next game. Unfortunately the Salah injury means a big swing towards Kun (c) surely?

I was prepared to accept not owning Salah as a rank risk because of his price, but I'm not sure I'll accept the rank risk if everyone defaults to a player I already own

          thought he was a perma-captain? 😉

fair enough though, Aguero's EO is gonna be big

Huge difference between whether there is case for it and whether you are prepared to accept the risk though, isn't there

a .4 probabity of Kun outscoring Hazard would make Hazard the favourite but perhaps still be an unacceptable risk to a top 1K team

    B) Mendy

Hit the WC button or do a simple Kane > Kun?

    Hennessey
    Alonso Robertson Trippier
    Hazard Sterling Bilva Fraser
    Kane Arnie Wilson

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Fabianski
    Alonso Mendy TAA Doherty
    Salah Hazard Richarlison Fraser
    Kun Lacazette
