Marcos Alonso (£7.0m) is now without an attacking return in Fantasy Premier League since Gameweek 4.

Despite proving a hugely popular figure, there has been a drop off in his offensive potential in recent weeks.

In this members’ piece, we’ve taken a look at whether or not his owners should be worried about his place in their squads.

Vardy and Madisson could be as potent a duo as Vardy and Mahrez. Discuss.

We shall see. Madisson isn't as selfish/good as Mahrez. Could provide more opportunities for Vardy than Mahrez did. This is my 3 AM nightshift optimistic streak talking 🙂

He’ll need to keep getting some of those pretty fortunate attacking stats to maintain that though...

Why are they pretty fortunate and Salah's many missed chance 'unfirtunate'. He made his own luck.

Have you not actually seen his returns? He got a crazy deflection that would have been easily saved, a pen right after Vardy was subbed off which rarely happens, and if I remember correctly his assist may have been fortunate as well.
I don't think Salah has been unfortunate; his finishing was known to be pretty terrible before, it got better by the end of last season and he scored some spectacular finishes, but he's showing that inconsistency in front of goal again.

Of course Salah's misses were terrible. That's the point. People in denial saying a lot of it was unlucky.

Madisson has had some luck, but not all. And it's true you can't get lucky if you're not in the right place at the right time. The jury is still out but after a stellar Championship season he's made a very good start. Himself and Vardy seem to work well together.

Hype? Outside of FPL or within?

3 goals anx 2 assists in his first season in Premier League for a midtable team. Not like there's a load of midfoelders tearing it up. He's doing well, nothing exceptional. Not like he's Michu 😉

Maddison is still developing. If it's given time to grow (the partnership) which I doubt will be the case as Vardy is getting older and Maddison will probably want to leave soon ( 🙁 Leicester fan)

😛 you guys have tried to buy Mahrez off us, that didn't go too well...

Don't mind not getting Mahrez and Vardy that much tbh.

We have a better offence now than when we bid for them so I'd prefer Maddison to bolster our average midfield

Mahrez and Vardy put up 50 attacking returns in Leicester's title winning season. Neither player has been able to replicate what they did that season. I can't fathom that Maddison and Vardy would be able to do it this year.

Perhaps next year they could get close if all goes well, but I would be pleasantly surprised with 35+ this year, especially considering Iheanacho will be starting most games.

Lacazette is a great option. The only problem is that the budget forwards are performing extremely well and Arsenal don't have great fixtures after Leicester. Also I don't think Arsenal and Lacazette can't keep up their over performance in terms of conversion rates and finishing.

Cause he is good. But the rotation is a risk too.

Trippier is about to turn into a pumpkin for the same reason. If he shares a job with Aurier, then you got drop him like a bad habit for Mendy - if Mendy is not job sharing with Sane.

Sane was fit and ready the first four gameweeks as well. Yet Mendy played all of them. If Mendy will actually be dropped to accomodate Sane, I haven't seen it happen yet. And they actually don't have a very good left back replacement for him.

When Mendy is fit, Sane gets benched. This was proven last season and this season so far.

Actually that’s a good point you’ve made about this being the first time they have been fit during the congestion.

For me, it doesn’t make a difference though, I just want Mendy in my team. The congestion period isn’t stopping us own players like Aguero, sterling etc, it’s just part of the City rollercoaster.

Has alonso's downturn coincided with Hazard playing 90 minutes? The article doesn't mention hazard. Is it possible to do comparisons of a player when one of their teammates is either on the pitch or not?

          • 11 Years

No, not so much to do with Hazard. More to do with Alonso's being caught out of position for goals conceded to Arsenal and Newcastle, both of which nearly resulted in points being dropped. Since when, Sarri has dialed him back a bit.

lets see if there is any positive news on KDb

as of now, go for sterling

Going through the exact same thought process.
Both would be differentials in terms of ownership.
Sterling has the potential to bring in those 12+ point hauls.
But I would say KDB less risk of rotation and at 1.4m cheaper I'm leaning towards him. But I think I'll bring him in after the Spurs game.

I think KDB should play this gw. Not sure if he'll start tho. I have Silva atm but looking to upgrade. Will keep an eye on Sterling tonight

Kenedy has played 20 games for NUFC, and scored 3 goals (in 2 games).

        He’s a trap, isnt he?

At 4.9 and scores a point every 20 minutes there is no real risk.

Nonsense. His record (3 goals, 2 assists in 19 starts) is perfectly good for 4.9m.

What he is, is a bench midfielder that you could occasionally start and that has more attacking potential than most at that price level. If you want him to be Richarlison then he's a trap. But that would be idiotic.

A more interesting question is to what degree Newcastle will improve now. 5 of their 8 games so far have been against likely top-6 teams. They don't have to face another such game in the next 10 GWs, within which 6 of the 10 fixtures are at home.

Dubravka will do the job for now.

Defense is fine, just have to get rid of shaw. maybe a WHM defender as it covers Doherty's tough fixtures.

          Attack is g2g.

"Shaw is a risk" is generally accepted to mean he is at risk of not starting, you know that.

No, i was the kid answering all the questions hence, why i'm doing well for myself 🙂

Long story short been forced to play free hit this week because of an accidental huge points hit. How does it look for this week?

        Dubravka
        Robbo TAA Mendy
        Salah (c) Sterling Richarlison Fraser
        Aguero Mitro King

        4.0 Doherty 4.3 3.9

If salah is out will swap for haz and bring in laca for king.
