Eden Hazard (£11.4m) will be the Fantasy Premier League focal point as Chelsea get Gameweek 9 started this lunch-time.

He comes into the Blues’ meeting with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge as the second-most owned asset in FPL, behind only Sergio Aguero (£11.3m) with 51.0% backing.

Fantasy managers will also be hoping for a clean sheet with Marcos Alonso (£7.0m) still in 45.9% of squads.

Investment in Manchester United has waned in recent weeks with their most popular option David De Gea (£5.8m). He remains owned by 18% despite going four Gameweeks without a clean sheet.

Their most fashionable outfield option is Paul Pogba (£8.1) with 13.9% backing. Interestingly, the Frenchman has been tipped by  Joe’s famed Goals Imminent table.

On the injury front, both Antonio Rudiger (£5.9m) and Mateo Kovacic (£5.9m) came through doubts over their fitness while Ross Barkley (£5.7m) was named on the bench.

Luke Shaw (£5.1m) overcame his knock to start for Man United.

CHELSEA XI (4-3-3): Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, David Luiz, Alonso, Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, Willian, Hazard, Morata.

MAN UNITED XI (4-3-3): De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Shaw, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Rashford, Martial, Lukaku.

Don’t want to be ‘that guy’ but for those who own both Kun and Sterling and captained the latter it was a poor decision. International games have a huge bearing on the sequential FPL start. Far too risky

It’s not hate, it’s legit questioning given his price, Sane questoning that is asked of Salah despite him being on 42 vs 46 at this time last season but now costing 12.8.. loads of sheep dived on Alonso after fantastic returns in the first four weeks because Scouts told them too, his price has shot up and as usual, as with all players, the instant they don’t replicate those earlier returns people expect, they get frustrated.

But for a misplaced pass, he was all on his own in the centre forward position and could’ve easily scored. No way I’m getting rid with 2 great fixtures coming up

Don’t get me wrong, it depends on your team structure. Will he return in the next two? Pretty sure he will. But can you get the same results cheaper? You’re right about the chance but Chelsea were chasing. All evidence is that he’s not getting forward now - and that’s not just down to the Liverpool game. I just take exception to people on here questioning Alonso being called “idiots” because the all hallowed scouts have said he’s “essential” and it’s heresy to question orthodoxy apparently. For example, when we were told you “have to” have three premium defenders because it’s “the template” I ended up ditching Mendy when he was “injured”, avoided his price drops, got in Doherty for some amazing returns and was able to get in Hazard. I ditched Robbo for TAA and with that cash got Sterling for his 14 pt haul. Now I’m thinking of ditching Alonso to get KDB as well. This idea that you “have to have” certain players is just wrong. The only players you need to be worried about are well owned ones that can really hurt you, the Hazards and Agüeros. A defender is never going to cause that much damage, not like an attacker. So I’d just rather have a heavy hitting midfield and forward line. I was told today by somebody that Alonso was worth it for clean sheets. If you’re paying 7M for clean sheets you need to evaluate your decision making. I’ve never owned Alonso for clean sheets. It’s early days, I benched him today, but if attacking returns have gone, there are plenty of other defenders who get clean sheets for much less which allows huge upgrades to attack.

          Disappointed with that late equaliser.

I don't have a penchant towards either team whatsoever, but was interested to see the fallout if Chelsea had lost due to Alonso trying to cheat the system - feigning injury in his own box to get play stopped. It's a problem not talked about often in the game, alongside goalkeepers being overly protected when competing in the air for the ball. Defenders feel that if they lay prone in their own box then the referee will bring the other team's attack to an end, no matter how dangerous the situation, and I for one was delighted to see that not happen in this case. The fact that Alonso was up and running without so much as a hobble when the goal had actually gone in was case and point of his intentions there.

That being said, on the basis of the football played, a draw was a fair result in the end.

He wasn't feigning injury. He was stepped on by Lukaku. But yeah maybe made a meal of it.

He was. He was rolling around, clutching his ankle, on his six yard line and directly in front of his keeper. Fast forward ten seconds later, and he was running off to the sideline without any semblance of injury. He was trying to cheat the system, he was not injured.
