Gameweek 9 comes to a conclusion on Monday evening as Arsenal take on Leicester City at the Emirates, a fixture in which seven goals were scored last season.

Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.7m) scored in that match in August 2017 and both players lead the line for their respective clubs this evening.

Unai Emery has once again chosen to overlook Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.7m) and Aaron Ramsey (£7.4m), however, with the pair among the Arsenal substitutes.

Any disheartened Fantasy owners should perhaps take some consolation from the fact that the pair went on to score 15 and ten points respectively when named as substitutes in Gameweek 8, though the Gunners were up against a welcoming Fulham defence a fortnight ago.

Mesut Ozil (£8.3m) returns to the side to line up alongside Alex Iwobi (£5.5m) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£6.9m) in the three attacking midfield positions behind Lacazette.

Sokratis (£5.2m) and Petr Cech (£5.0m) were doubts for this match and haven’t quite made it, while Nacho Monreal (£5.5m) has been withdrawn from the Arsenal squad as a precaution with a tight hamstring.

Stephan Lichtsteiner (£4.6m) makes his first league start of the season at left-back.

Leicester City’s team news is less eventful, with Claude Puel forced into the only change he has made this evening: Jonny Evans (£4.8m) replacing the suspended Wes Morgan (£4.5m) at centre-half.

Summer signing Caglar Soyuncu (£4.9m) is among the substitutes.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.1m) once again lines up “out of position” on the right of midfield on the opposite flank to the most popular Fantasy asset in the Foxes’ squad: James Maddison (£7.0m).

Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Mustafi, Lichtsteiner; Xhaka, Torreira; Ozil, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan; Lacazette.

Leicester City XI (4-4-1-1): Schmeichel; Amartey, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell; Pereira, Mendy, Ndidi, Maddison; Iheanacho; Vardy.

    Hennesey
    Robertson Doherty Alonso
    Salah Hazard Fraser Richarlison
    Kun Ings Mitrovic

    Hamer Lamela AWB Tarkowski

I know Hennesey and Tarkowski need to go but am I right to save and prioritise Lamela & Ings to a 4.5 & Arnie next week?

Obviously need to monitor Hazard now too 🙁

Anyone else tempted to (c) Fraser/King/Wilson? Have Haz/Mane as other options but man that Fulham defense is SO bad..I only own Fraser of that lot though.

We must have similar team as I have also Ings, Fraser, Kane. Also shipped Zaha to Mitrovic last week.

I would keep Ings against Newcastle. A or maybe just Kane + Zaha to Aguero + Arnautovic.

Depends if you really want Salah / Liverpool attacker

Trippier to Doherty this week gives you 1.4m as of now... enough to do Rich to Mad next week and Mitro to Arnie the following week all for free allowing you to keep hold of your best striker, get Maddison and get rid of Mitro before Liverpool (A)...
My first proper season too so make of that what you will

    Ryan Button

    Hazard Sterling Siggy Maddison Obiang

TAA & Sterling are now rotation risks

Funny how quickly things move on. Richarlson is the player that I have converted for a while and never owned. I just struggle to fit him into my team. Now people are looking to get rid. I have a little more reluctance to bring him in but I don't think he has turned into a bad option.

I brought him in last week and wasn’t that confident he’d do much. Looks better on the wing than upfront but those home games are amazing so keeping for now

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

At that price you don't expect him to deliver every week. The odd goal here and there will do. He could have scored with a header on Sunday.

    2. HairlessGrealish

      1. Demel

And there is a reason why he isn't a 10mil priced player.

        • 8 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

It's the eye test, he looks uncomfortable in that striker position...he was a confident & tricky player on the wings which is missing in his new role

    3. Holmes
      • 12 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

Have owned them from start but last 3-4 weeks have been poor. There is drop in performance for both, Fraser and Richarlison imo, thats an issue for me...

I'm not desperate to drop them unless on WC but at this stage, I would prefer Sigurdsson over Richarlison and no Fraser.

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

I agree with that. So many wildcards floating the same players. If I was pulling the trigger I would want to look at something different. E.g KDB, Groß, Soggy could all potentially come in.

Arsenal though poor in defence are having one of the best attacks in league & if they play like they played against Leicester in 2nd half I see lots of goals & assist potential. Also both will be good differential options .

Mane could easily outscore Salah and Salah is yet to make a double digit score. I own him, but like Kane 2 gameweeks ago, people shouldnt be taking hits for a player if he wasn't in their iniplans to begin with.

Alonso for mendy. I know I'm in the minority but just don't think Alonso is worth it

Could do but not sure about the Mendy/Laporte double up.

I’d say you’re in the growing majority. Alonso is at the bottom of his boom/bust cycle, so many are calling for his head.

Then he’ll post another 12-15 pointer & it all begins again 🙂

Is Arny or Alisson likely to rise this week?

I doubt it, not this week. Maybe not even next week if Arnie blanks. If he scores though, he will probably rise, especially with Bournemouths fixtures turning and people getting impatient with Mitro

      Arnautovic wont

Alisson but not in next couple of days, maybe on Friday/Saturday

Keepers don't rise that fast though, I'd expect him to remain at his price throughout this week

    Patricio/Hamer
    Alonso/Robbo/Holebas/AWB/Kelly
    Salah/Haz/Rich/Maddy/Fraser
    Kun/Mitro/Jimenez

    0.1 itb, 1 FT

Looking to save FT and then week after do 2 or 3 transfers to bring in Mendy in place of Holebas. And remove one of Rich/Maddy/Fraser to a playing MF along with Jimenez to a cheapie.

Could lead to weaker fifth MF with Fraser likely being the fourth MF in a 352. Other option is Alonso to Mendy and remove Jimenez while taking more time to sort out MF.

    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I'd much prefer Mendy and Luiz to Alonso and Laporte.

I wouldn't pick Wilson AND Fraser since their fixtures are about to turn awful

Hope we get teamsheets at 13:58 on Saturday to see if Trent needs to be cast out into the wilderness

Doesn't mean too much because of the summer break. Should say for how many mins of gametime.

Richarlisons fixtures are good - 4 juicy home games in next 7, as well as Man Utd away after a CL game... but he was poor on the eye test on Sunday

Avert your eyes and wait for the points to roll in.

Agree he was average but for that price, there aren't many decent alternatives. He just needs to get back on the wing.

So true. We get a bit excited when players like him and Hazard go false 9. But they don’t seem to be very good at it.

I think Tosun did well after he came on. Could earn him a place in starting 11. Would be good to see Rich back on the wing

If you own him. Hold. If you don't own him then you can probably wait and see. His ownership levels are a big concern for me (unless he blanks!)

Strange Auba continuously getting points from the bench, makes you wonder the damage he could do if he started.
    Anyone considering him?

He’s up against 3 tough defences next 3 games... then IB... Will see how things are after that spell maybe

Capoue and Doucoure in the team of the week. What is this, 2017?
