Our latest Community Round-up feature looks back at the Fantasy Football Scout community’s activity over the past week.

As well as the usual array of superb discussions in the comments this week, there have been some welcome article and table submissions that can help with our planning for Gameweek 10 and beyond.

We’ve also got updated details on the FFS Charity Cup in November, which this time is raising money for CALM.

Hot Topics

TopMarx began the week by asking us if were bold or patient FPL managers while Legomane was curious to know what fellow Wildcard hoarders were waiting for as they sit on this prized chip.

Gregor asked for your stand-out players who passed the “eye test” in Gameweek 9 as we also ran the rule over Arsenal v Leicester City.

Defenders were the source of much debate as wulfranian presented his research on the Liverpool backline while Pras United was comparing Chelsea stoppers. We also pondered heavy hitters in defence and five at the back.

The Cherry Picker cherry-picked us some helpful bits of information regarding attackers and bonus points, as Limited & Mediocre Manager asked for your own personal FPL mid-season reviews.

The implications of the Champions League sparked debate as the focus switched to Gameweek 10, with G-Whizz giving us his weekly Doosra stats, clean sheet probabilities and match odds and several of you suggesting who the break-out star of this weekend might be.

Finally, Demel switched our attention back to defence by asking how important attacking potential is regarding our chosen defenders.

Community Tournaments

Brayden McCullough still leads our public Fantasy Football Scout League and is still second in the overall rankings.

Luke Aiello still leads both our Fantasy Football Scout Members League and RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and is up one place to 27th overall. Ashley Humphrey (Ashers74) is now level with him on points in Top 10k Any Season.

RedLightning still leads the FFS Mods & Cons mini-league, with Chris Atkinson (RMT’s Professor) still in second place.

Finally, details of the FFS Charity Cup have been added to the article we published last month.

All you need to do is email peter.kouwenberg76@gmail.com as soon as possible to confirm your interest and provide your contact details, at which point you’ll be added to the relevant WhatsApp group unless you would prefer to be kept informed by email or text instead.

February’s tournament proved a huge success and raised over £1,000 for Melanoma Research Foundation. This time we hope to raise even more money as we donate to men’s mental health charity CALM.

Concerned about the KdB effect on Bilva’s upcoming minutes & not a particularly attractive fixture away to Spuds, with 2FT & no other pressing issues, any thoughts on:
    Bilva >Maddison
(or any others in that price range, I have Salah, Schurrle,Richarlison,Maddison). Cheers.

I'd do that purely because Maddison has better fixtures and assist potential.

Bilva can still deliver IMO and is versatile to play either central or on the flanks.

August 2018 - Jamie Vardy is made Leicester’s best ever paid player upon signing a new 4 year contract.

And now he has been dropped less than 3 months later ? Something really doesn’t make sense here.

A manager under threat cares about the next game, not the next 4 years. Desperation.

See maybe Ranieri has clouded my judgement. But if those players and fans wanted him out, everyone’s under threat for much less 😉

Ahaha. At Leicester there is a lot of joking about player power, but honestly all the old guard are mostly out of the system and Vardy and Puel seem to like each other based off of on pitch reactions and their support for each other in the media - and the fans opinions count for zero in the owners minds I'm sure, when it cones to sacking managers at least. Ranieri lost 5 on the trot and would have had us relegated. Puel has lost 2, against tough teams. And we are 11th. He's not going anywhere

      2. Witty Pun: Not good at this…
        • 9 Years

Something does make sense. He played whilst ill, without telling Puel, who uses all his subs whilst keeping his best player on, only to watch in chagrin aa Vardy can't finish the game. A game of timeout makes perfect sense.

    10. Witty Pun: Not good at this…

I am really pissed off by the sports media, and our fanbase. At the beginning of this season, our owners came out and basically said that Puel has a very tough job and a lot of transitioning to do so they won't mind if the results aren't fantastic unless we're doing really badly.

Despite that, the media have continuously hounded him based off of a portion of our fanbase's dissatisfaction of him. Sure he hasn't been amazing in terms of results or performances, but it's clear what he's trying to do and at times we have looked a good footballing side. 4 wins and 5 losses out of 9 is absolutely fine and really what we should be expecting as a currently upper midtable side (7th to 12th).

But because we've lost the last two (one to Everton who should take 7th this year, and only after getting a red card, and one away to Arsenal, a fixture we won last in '71) some fans are saying he isn't good enough. How entitled can we get? We are a midtable side, not Top 6! Sure we're building for more right now, but Puel is a big part of that. And yet, Puel is "under fire" or "at risk". Really. According to who? Certainly not our owners or DOF, whoch are the only ones who matter.

        Couldn’t agree with you more.

Southampton thought they were a big club and sacked Puel too and look at the laughing stock they are now.

I think Puel is a good manager and Leicester will be fine finishing in the top half.

If the owners were going to sack Puel, they would have done it after losing 5 nil to flipping Palace. We were in a much, much worse place at the time.

I think your current situation provides you the perfect opportunity to slot in another Liverpool player. TAA may not start in the weekend so perhaps you could switch him to a Gomez/Lovren, or maybe transfer out a Pereira for another Liverpool defender.

Ward isn't nailed on so probably you could buy a replacement for him. So many possibilities are available for you to consider

0.1 short on WC, best downgrade to afford it?

      Lossl Hamer
      Alonso Robertson Mendy Doherty (WB)
      Salah Hazard Maddison (Stephens Romeu)
      Aguero Arnie Mitro

      A)Aguero, Romeu to Sterling, Kamara
      B)Wan Bissaka to 3.9
      C)Doherty to Balbuena

Not keen as i think they will concede against Spurs and Arsenal, but think they could score goals and Doherty could be involved.

Hey all. I have one free transfer and will likely play wildcard next week. So should I do:

      A) Zaha > Mitrovic
      B) Pickford > Alisson

I wonder how many pens down “jokes” there will be at 11:31. I’d guess 4.
