Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.5m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.6m) both start for Arsenal as they host Burnley in Gameweek 18’s Saturday lunch-time kick-off.

Sead Kolasinac (£5.0m) returns to the starting line-up after being a fitness doubt for the game, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles (£4.4m) is the one to replace the injured Hector Bellerín (£5.4m) at right-back.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Elneny (£4.3m) comes into the side so that Lucas Torreira (£5.2m) can get a rest on the bench.

Aubameyang and Lacazette are joined in attack by Mesut Özil (£8.0m).

Burnley have lined up with a 5-3-2 formation and are expected to try to stay compact and hit Arsenal on the break.

James Tarkowski (£4.7m), Ben Mee (£4.7m) and Kevin Long (£4.2m) are the centre-backs with Charlie Taylor (£4.4m) and Phil Bardsley (£4.2m) flanking them.

Sean Dyche has typically used just one forward this season but he has bolstered the attack today with the inclusion of Ashley Barnes (£5.6m) and Chris Wood (£6.2m) up front.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Monreal, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Elneny, Guendouzi, Ozil, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Burnley XI: Hart, Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Long, Taylor, Cork, Westwood, Hendrick, Barnes, Wood.

I’m the same tbh. He’s absolute garbage.

Selling him is gonna be very satisfying. Might even do it now, I’ve been banging on about it for weeks/months.

After every gameweek I go on about how I'll turn Lacazette into Hazard/Sané for a hit but I always end up keeping. Nightmare.

    Auba or Sterling.
If you had to change one of these for Hazard which would it be?

Have Sane too and Aguero/KDB may become an option soon as well so thinking it might be better to sell Sterling.
It is one 1 FT in my pocket too if choosing Sterling to replace which is a nice bonus.

    What do we think?

Don't know what "we" think but I think Sterling.

This week is the GW to dread for non-owners. City do most of their big damage at home and after the Palace game all the home games are tougher ones and the easier-looking fixtures are away, right through to the blank in GW27. I think it's conceivable to go without any City attack at all for that period and if I have one it will be Sané/KDB, not Sterling.

i've stuck with longer term thinking.
Salah & Hazard over City. More guaranteed starts and greater chance of being involved in their teams returns. Led to a big rank increase last 3 weeks.
Can see City beating Palace quite heavily but almost a toss of the coin which (if any of their assets) dominate the pts.
Knew there was a good chance of Auba doing well against Burnley but can't have everyone.
For me it's a damage limitation GW but leaves me nicely set-up for rest of Xmas. Have to be confident Hazard matches the Man City asset people haven't captained for this GW

Barnet 0-0 Dover at half time. Dover had a spell of slight dominance where Barnet were struggling, but their lack of a killing blow will go in Barnets favour given the imbalance of talent on the two benches. Barnet with a multiple time conference golden boot winner on the bench alongside a long time hero of the club.

Trying to figure out Sokratis vs Barnes

So if a foul happens off the pitch, you get a freekick several metres into the pitch, rather than on the line? What happens if the foul is off the pitch by the penalty area? Penalty?

If the ball is out of play, fouls cannot be committed (normally), unless they require discipline. In which case, the discipline is given out AND the foul given (freekick/penalty)? Should just be a throw-in and yellow card, no?

    1. Pukki Party
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

The foul was Barnes tackle from begind on pitch

        2. Deulofail
          • 10 Years

Doubt it. The ball was probably already off the pitch before they were going down, and the drag on the floor from Barnes seemed the only potential foul (besides maybe Sokratis' elbow).

    2. My Name Is Pepu
      • 9 Years

I think they just restarted the game without much thinking. I just saw the cameras roll over to Leich coming on and passing the ball back to Leno immediately.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

I thought Sokratis blasted it up the pitch? Could be wrong. I don't really care, except that it seems like an error of common sence, and I'm genuinely interested in the rules.
