Form versus fixtures is the age-old debate in Fantasy circles.

Leicester City are without a win in the last five Gameweeks and sit joint-bottom of the Premier League form table over that period, having taken just one point from a possible 15.

The quality of their opposition has to be factored into the equation, however: the Foxes have faced Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs in their last three Premier League matches and also lost at seventh-placed Wolves in Gameweek 23.

The performances against those top four clubs in the last three Gameweeks have been encouraging, with Liverpool held to a draw and both Manchester United and Spurs perhaps fortunate to emerge from their encounters with Claude Puel’s side with all three points.

Last Sunday’s defeat at Wembley was especially harsh on the Foxes.

No Premier League side had more efforts on target or shots in the box than Puel’s side in Gameweek 26, while only Manchester City carved out more big chances.

Looking ahead, Leicester’s fixtures are among the most favourable in the division – perhaps even the best.

The Foxes are the only club to avoid any of the “big six” in the next nine Gameweeks, with all five of their home matches during that time against teams currently in the bottom half of the table.

Leicester’s defensive options are particularly worthy of consideration for this run.

Despite their recent winless sequence, only five teams have conceded fewer Premier League goals than the Foxes this season.

Crystal Palace are the only non-big six side to have kept more clean sheets, meanwhile.

With that in mind, we will take a look at two potential routes into the Foxes’ backline – both of whom offer the possibility of Fantasy returns at the other end of the pitch, too.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.3m) and Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) have both posted some impressive underlying statistics this season, though Pereira has had more joy from a Fantasy perspective so far given that he has registered eight attacking returns to Chilwell’s three.

We will compare the two full-back options in the Members’ article below, as well as looking at the case of another key component in the Leicester defence: centre-back Harry Maguire (£5.4m).

    5 blankers confirmed (2 Mun + 3 Wol).

Digne, Kamara & Button are useless.

3 Pool & Fabianski my only confirmed starters for GW31.

AWB, Son & Hazard yet to be decided.

Fielding a decent side with FTs for GW31 is looking tough for me.

FH31 is something I’m really considering now but it would leave me with 3 Pool players for DGW32 which isn’t ideal as they face Spurs.

An early wildcard could work out as well. Lot of options to consider.

Heading that way too - it is far easier to build a good DGW32 team than a BGW31 from my starting point. Might even WC GW30 if there is clarity on the doubles.

I have Sterling and will be getting Kun for Firmino next GW.

I only have 3 GW31 players so I really feel like I need to commit to a strategy this week. I could still go the other way and end up taking -8 to get the key players in, but what is the point? This way I also get to use my BB GW32 and still have the TC for DGW34.

Interesting game in Serie C today, Pro Piacenza players are on strike so they fielded a 7-man team from the youth squad. 16-0 down by half time, finished 20-0 with no shots and 5% possession. Ouch.

Disagree. If casuals are those people that are spoon fed (i.e. watch the FPL Show / read the FPL articles) then they should be well set. The FPL Show and FPL articles has advocated keeping chips in tact.

surely casuals are people that play the game without following FPL media

Then why worry about them? Most will be OR 1m+ and not a threat at all.

I understand 'casuals' on this site to mean those that are 'spoonfed' i.e. they get the alerts on their phone from the FPL app and skim through the advice on the FPL site. I think the advice on the FPL site is consistent with much of what is on here.

they are unlikely to have as many DGW'er, but that's not necessary a bad thing, SGW'ers (especially those with strong fixtures) often outscore DGW'ers). For example, those getting rid of there Pool players for DGWers are playing with fire.

That's when FH works better than WC + BB for dgw. They don't need to have sgw essential players for that special gw

Have no idea what the scores will be, but (aside from Liverpool) don't fancy betting the chip on 3 mediocre teams.
Particularly don't fancy planning for it when we may not even know the gw32 fixtures until the gw before. Then there's gw33.

As you outline there's a decent argument to FH31 given your players. Problem is that things can and will change between now and then. I prefer planning for knowns, as made mistakes last year with dgw assumptions, but really comes down to personal preference and willingness to risk it (because you'll need to make a decision and start planning for it/not quite soon).

                    Yup..deciding on strategy this week......

I have 2fts for 27 - looking at bringing in auba Anderson and mcneil....so that beefs up my bgw31 players to 5.

Add to that mane Wilson/ Fraser and Leicester defender and that should suffice with no chip for 31 potentially
                    ..thanks

Why are people moving from GW32 to GW31 Free Hit strategies ?

The lack of 5th round FC Cup shocks strengthens the case for FHing in DGW32 IMO. Surely fewer fixtures and players to choose from in GW31, makes it a less appealing week to FH, and more teams with two fixtures in DGW32 makes it more appealing for FH'ers. Even if you are short of players for GW31 ATM, you've got at least 5 FT's to strengthen your squad and as things stand only Liverpool players look essential for GW31 !

This. Don't want use fh chip in gw31 for loading up crap players who will probably get 2 points max. Rather have triple liverpool and 2-3 from West ham and Bournemouth

There seem to be reasonable argument for both proposals.

At this moment think I'm sticking to using it in dgw32.

I don't think a full team is needed in 31...... 8 or 9 decent options should suffice

Agreed I can use FT's to get a full 11 for GW31, but may opt to go with 9 or 10 players, rather than weaken my team between now and then, to gain a player who is unlikely to contribute more than two points in GW31.

if all big guns play dgw32 except liverpool y would u need fh ??.U will already have a strong team.Would rather tc there and plan towards dgw32 and gw33 instead of wasting my fts to plan towards gw31

If the all big teams except Liverpool have a DGW32, the transition to GW33 is going to be extremely problematic unless some of the big teams get knocked out of the FA Cup between now and then.

4 actually. I was counting Utd - always forget we’re in the north.

Still though - Brentford, QPR, Palace and Watford - will be 50/50. Really good split

Hey guys, does this sound like a good plan?

                My GW31 team
Fabianski, Perreira, Robertson, Salah, Puncheon, Firmino

Got 4 free transfers until then to hopefully get 10 players out

Looking at Felipe Anderson, Rondon, Solanke, Chilwell, Madisson, Barnes and Rondon so far to fill those 4 spots.
Leicester and West Ham have good fixs from 28 onwards so those can be brought in first, save 2 frees for 31 to get me up ti 10 players.
10 starters would be great if it meant saving my FH for GW32, I am going to WC in 34 and BB 35

Most with all their chips will do this ... we don’t know doubles yet so can not plan for them easily, therefore a FH in 32 and WC in 34 makes perfect sense
