Key Leicester assets all start as Rodgers becomes boss

Leicester City’s key Fantasy assets have all kept their places for the first game after Claude Puel’s reign came to a close.

Brendan Rodgers’ arrival at the King Power Stadium was confirmed around the same time as the team news was released.

He will see Jamie Vardy (£8.8m), Harvey Barnes (£5.5m), James Maddison (£6.6m), Demarai Gray (£5.4m) and Ricardo Pereira (£5.4m) all in the starting line-up.

There was also a return to the side for Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) after he missed Gameweek 27.

There will also be plenty of interest in the Wolves side as they head to Huddersfield.

Nuno Espirito Santo has named the usual suspects in his starting XI, with Raúl Jiménez (£6.8m), Matt Doherty (£5.4m) and Diogo Jota (£6.1m) all involved from the beginning.

It will be interesting to see how they get on against a Terriers side that has run eight chances after Saturday’s defeat to Newcastle.

Everton are now back in FPL action for the first time since Gameweek 26, and they have done so with minimal changes.

Richarlison (£6.6m), Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.2m) and Lucas Digne (£5.3m) are all on the team-sheet to face Cardiff, who have also made the usual number of changes to their attacking line-up.

There will be plenty of interest in the 8pm televised kick-off between Newcastle and Burnley.

That game features two popular budget strikers in Salomón Rondón (£5.9m) and Ashley Barnes (£5.7m).

Miguel Almirón (£6.0m), unfortunate to blank on his full home debut, is also in the starting line-up for the Magpies.

Kenneth Zohoré (£4.6m) starts up front, with Junior Hoilett (£5.0m), Bobby Reid (£5.2m) and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (£4.8m) behind him.

Cardiff XI: Etheridge; Bennett, Bamba, Morrison, Ecuele Manga; Gunnarsson, Bacuna; Hoilett, Reid, Mendez-Laing; Zohoré.

Everton XI: Pickford; Digne, Jagielka, Keane, Coleman; Gueye, Schneiderlin; Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Walcott; Calvert-Lewin.

Huddersfield XI: Lössl; Stankovic, Schindler, Kongolo; Duhaney, Hogg, Billing, Durm; Pritchard; Mounie, Grant.

Wolves XI: Rui Patrício; Bennett, Coady, Boly; Doherty, Dendoncker, Rúben Neves, João Moutinho, Jonny; Jiménez, Diogo Jota

Leicester XI: Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell; Tielemans, Ndidi, Maddison; Gray, Vardy, Barnes.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Bong; Groß, Stephens, Pröpper; Knockaert, Murray, March.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka; Lejeune, Lascelles, Schär; Ritchie, Longstaff, Hayden, Manquillo; Perez, Almirón; Rondón.

Burnley XI: Heaton; Taylor, Mee, Tarkowski, Bardsley; McNeil, Hendrick, Cork, Gudmundsson; Wood, Barnes.

    Not anything involving Pogba just yet. Keep him for Southampton.
    Tough call between Vardy and Higuain, Hig not mailed.

    How this sounds for plan to GW31:

    GW29: Son + Kolasinac -> Hazard + TAA (-4)
    GW30: Save
    GW31: Aguero + Jimenez + Speroni -> Higuain + Vardy + Boruc (-4)

    Would give me this team for GW31:
    Boruc
    Robertson, TAA, Pereira
    Salah, Hazard, Anderson, Richarlison
    Higuain, Vardy

    Guaita, Pogba, AWB, Kamara

          I don't really have a plan. Just winging it. But probably something similar. Couple of hits before 31 and FH 32.

            Difficult to planning transfer so much ahead.
            Other option for me is
            GW29: Son + Kolasinac -> Hazard + TAA (-4)
            GW30: Jimenez -> Barnes
            GW31: Aguero + Kamara + Speroni -> Higuain/Vardy + King/Wilson + Boruc (-8)

    I swear Sigurdsson is the Icelandic Hazard, I’ve managed to miss all his hauls despite having him for around a third of the season. On that note Aubameyang is the Gabonese Hazard, pre gw15 91pts/10goals, after I got him in 60pts/5goals.

    Who have been your biggest FPL trolls?

      Hazard. He’s the Belgian Hazard. Lovely player but I hate him and will never get him again no matter what the circumstances. Keeping everything crossed he leaves the prem this summer!

      Sane & Sterling.

      Owned them for the worst period during Christmas.

      As soon as I sold them they started scoring points again.

      Got Sane back for DGW25 he trolled again and I sold him again.

      Now I’ve got Sterling this week again really hoping I’m 3rd time lucky with City mids.

        So lots of upper-mid to premium midfielders, are we maybe not patient enough with them? Perhaps it’s something about that price bracket (never default captain picks, but too pricey to bench/let blank)

      Salah by a mile this season. 3 months of scoring between 2-8pts while I missed Sterling hauls, then the minute I take him out he scores a hat-trick vs Bournemouth. My rank fell off a cliff over the next month or so, then no sooner do I admit defeat and bring him back than he turns crap again.

        FH 31 and prepare your team for GW33 blank as more teams will play then...doesnt seem to be too hard, think a TC chip or a BB is more useful in GW32 than the FH chip tbh

      more can go wrong with wildcard in 32/more games and fixtures to plan for

      33 fixtures are unknown and could be quite limited

      Plus with majority planning for 31/33 blanks already maybe the FH won't have much an advantage over everyone else!

    4. Karan14
      • 8 Years
      5 years, 2 months ago

      Because FH32 & WC34 allows you to have two different teams for the doubles.

      1. Karan14

        Also because I personally don’t want a Pool player for GW32 but I definitely want a couple for 33 onwards.

        And similar with Cheslea I want sell them after GW33 but want them before that.

    5. Werkself
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      Because GW 31 & 33 are blank for many teams and most of them will have a double GW 32. You'll want a very significantly different team in GW 32 than in 31 & 33. The FH chip allows for that. The WC chip doesn't.

      1. Lazaretti
        • 6 Years

        This and also there is 3 weeks between GW32 and GW35 and assume that you would like to get as many as possible dbl GW players for GW35. In 3 weeks there can be lot of injuries etc.
