Brighton and Hove Albion are the only club with four Premier League fixtures across Gameweeks 34 and 35, with their first “double-header” undoubtedly their most enticing from a Fantasy perspective.

Bournemouth and Cardiff City are the visitors to the Amex Stadium in Gameweek 34 before the Seagulls face two less-appealing away fixtures at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 35.

Brighton assets will obviously be more popular than usual going into this Friday’s deadline, then, so it is worth exploring some of the Seagulls’ underlying statistics to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Our Members’ piece below looks at both attacking and defensive options in Chris Hughton’s side and studies Albion’s team numbers as a whole.

Now that we are past the halfway stage of the season, memberships are available for just £10 and can be bought by clicking HERE.

Direct free kick in a promising position with Rashford & Pogba in the team, so of course you let Fred kick it straight at the wall.

Third person plural. I mean you don't call [Barcelona] it, do you? It's they. But I dunno if original poster is not English. Could be different in other languages.

            • 7 Years
            7 years, 1 month ago

Also this is nothing to do with third person plural because it's a collective noun not a verb conjugation. And regardless of the OP's native language there are differences even between the different versions of English!

              • 8 Years

Ok but you do use third person plural conjugation though don't you? You don't say 'they likes'

        2. elchilangles
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 1 month ago

Collective nouns are generally treated as plural in British English and singular in American English. There are however exceptions to the rule and it might even depend on the team "Spurs" vs "Barcelona" for example.

          1. Surfeit of Lampteys
            • 8 Years
            7 years, 1 month ago

Indeed but I don't know of any exceptions. The reason third person plural makes sense is often you're talking about the performance or activities of eleven people or all employees even.

Still deciding how to fill the Kane-shaped hole.

Might go Vardy for 2 weeks then convert to Firmino (form rather than a DGW). Already got Jimi and Deeney in the front-line (though not amazingly happy about Deeney)...might go Rashford instead.

For defence, Liverpool have Chelsea this weekend...so might as well triple on Brighton with Ryan and Duffunk, then leave a bit in the bank to upgrade one of Duffunk

Plenty of single gameweek players look better on paper, along with Spurs, Doherty. I'd rather go with double Liverpool defence ready for Hud in 36 than Laporte. Not to mention the entire Man City back line is now fit, Komany and Stones will get games.

        1. Lyonnais
          • 13 Years

Spurs yes, but who of them is going to play all the games?
Lloris is their safest choice imo.

I think it's Doherty, Duffy (+ maybe Dunk) and then there's a gap.

Laporte, Kolasinac?, SOU, LIV, WAT the next ones.
Not really seeing the appeal of non DGW defenders beside LIV.

Lloris is safe, Vertonghen safest outfield but they have 4CB options (as do City).

            Doherty, Robbo, Vertonghen/TAA, 2x Brighton

Id rather have this and Ederson in goal, at least he is safe, and Spurs have a likely chance of a CS in both of the next 2 GWs.

            1. The Tinkerman
              • 10 Years

No Watford defenders are nailed, dont think SOU fixtures are very good, not going anywhere near Arsenal with all of those away games. Not a lot of appealing choices for the double really, I dont think one of them will be a rotation-likely defender playing against Man United in a derby match and Spurs, who they just lost to.

I actually think Spurs could beat City in league and/or CL without Kane. They counter attack more quickly without him.

If I fancied one clean sheet in that double then Ederson is the obvious route to it. The entire defence is fit now, so are all of their attacking options. Bilva doubt as is Zinchenko... that's it.
