Brighton and Hove Albion are the only club with four Premier League fixtures across Gameweeks 34 and 35, with their first “double-header” undoubtedly their most enticing from a Fantasy perspective.

Bournemouth and Cardiff City are the visitors to the Amex Stadium in Gameweek 34 before the Seagulls face two less-appealing away fixtures at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 35.

Brighton assets will obviously be more popular than usual going into this Friday’s deadline, then, so it is worth exploring some of the Seagulls’ underlying statistics to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Our Members’ piece below looks at both attacking and defensive options in Chris Hughton’s side and studies Albion’s team numbers as a whole.

Now that we are past the halfway stage of the season, memberships are available for just £10 and can be bought by clicking HERE.

I agree with Hargreeves, McTominay is nailed in the United first team now. It's now Pogba McTominay and one other in the centre.

4.2 for someone that plays in both doubles I'd consider for sure. I'm just happy for 4/5 points from my bench player.

    Foster, Ryan
    Robertson, Trippier, Doherty, Duffy, Dunk
    Sterling, KdB, Eriksen, Son, Jota
    Vardy, Jimenez, Deeney

    How does this look?
    Then...GW35:
    A) Vardy to Laczette
    B) KdB or Sterling to Mane
    C) Both (-4)

Vardy to a DGW player next

But why? Sterling and KDB could potentially both play two games in dgw35. Mane only plays one, admittedly it's against Huddersfield. Do you think mane outscore's either sterling or KDB if either play twice?

      Definitely not C.

Also hard to justify getting rid of a DGW player for a SGW even though Mane has good fixtures.

Vardy to Laca is the only one I'd consider but Firmino might be a better shout if thinking long term.

Only immediate concern for you is triple brighton defence!

Away games = save points. I’d rather a keeper whose unlikely to keep cs but has a chance to in 2 games be playing away for greater save point potential. If you see what I mean.

Not sure of either for cs but the double up is tempting so looking to opt for greater save point potential

Trying to protect lead in mini league - who more likely to be highly owned- Aguero or sterling?

And do we feel neither are essential as people I like to captain either until after the double anyway?

I see duffy captain as a no brainer.

I mean his floor is 4 points. Sons floor is 1.

    Using Man maths
Duffy grabs 1 goal and 2 clean sheets that’s 19 points as a ceiling.

Sons best outcome is a hattrick 21 points with a CS.

I’d gladly go with the safer floor

    1. benbro
      • 7 Years
      6 years, 12 months ago

Surely Brighton’s likelihood of keeping the sheets any where near clean is less than 3 to 1. I’d forget son too but Duffy as captain? Not a chance

        • 13 Years

Salah got 6 points last week as a captain and people were happy. Duffy on average will outscore 6 with those fixtures imo. RMT would back that up.

The floor is never the way to go. I just fancy Duffy and I don’t know why. If you can’t pick him for captain in a Gameweek like this then you’re just a bit of a dullard and that’s how I’m comforting myself when it all goes tits up.

      1. Richd
        • 13 Years

You just need your captain to get some kind of return. In essence playing twice is like a return in itself.

Consistent weekly points get you in the top 10k year in year out. It’s boring but true.

Paddypower have Brighton ~2.88 (35% chance) to keep a CS vs. Bournemouth & 2.0 (50% chance) to keep a CS vs. Cardiff

So a roughly ~17.5% chance (just under 5/1) to keep two cleansheets...

      And i think that's a 67.5% chance of keeping a single cleansheet, right? (35% + 50% - 17.5% = 67.5%) My probability maths may not be good here

Duffy has 7 attacking returns in 32 games so gets one roughly every 4 or 5 games...

Brighton have also conceded the fewest goals outside the top 6 at home in the league this season (both games are at home) and cardiff have scored the fewest goals in the league away from home (only 9) Bourenmouth aren't much better with only 15 scored away from home

Overall he's definitely a good punt imo - not sure if i'll go for spurs captain or not yet though

      1. Richd
        • 13 Years
        6 years, 12 months ago

It beats the rotation prone Kaneless spurs for sure. And I think the upside can match a spurs player.

I know it won’t be a differential and that’s why I gotta triple up on Brighton at the back and pray. A boring way to play as cheering on a CS is never fun.

Surely the question is what does spurs other attacking options do to teams defences vs what Kane does. I am of the thinking that kane worries defences into the space that son fills. Especially given his last minute goals as defences tire from Kane’s efforts. I see LL orente doing that much less... especially given his arguably lower work rate.
