Roberto Firmino (£9.3m) has missed out on a place in the matchday squad for Liverpool’s Gameweek 36 meeting with Huddersfield Town.

There was no mention of any problems in Jurgen Klopp’s Thursday press conference and it is understood that the Brazilian trained since then.

However, it was rumoured that he picked up a groin injury on Friday and was then picture in his wife’s Instagram story with strapping in that region of his leg.

Ultimately, he was omitted from the starting XI and substitute’s bench in the 7pm team news.

Those who captained Sadio Mané (£10.1m) might have been hoping that, like the last time Firmino missed a Premier League match, he would take his centre-forward spot.

However, on this occasion, that role has fallen to Daniel Sturridge (£5.6m) while Mané remains on the left of the 4-3-3 system favoured by Jurgen Klopp.

Elsewhere, Jordan Henderson (£5.3m) gets another chance to impress in his new advanced role in central midfield.

Joel Matip (£4.9m) drops out of central defence to the bench, letting Dejan Lovren (£4.9m) to come in.

All the other Fantasy favourites retain their places in the back-four though, Andrew Robertson (£6.8m), Virgil van Dijk (£6.6m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.6m).

Huddersfield manager Jan Siewert has gone for a defensive looking 4-1-4-1 system at Anfield this evening.
