Our second FFS Cup competition of the season reaches its climax this weekend.

Our final will be a battle between two managers who lurk just outside the top 1,000 in Fantasy Premier League.

Rotation’s Alter Ego and LOKOMOTIV both prevailed in their respective semi-finals to set up a showdown between the pair in Gameweek 37.

Losing semi-finalists Skogen89 and Ibra-gum will now contest the third-place play-off this weekend.

Rotation’s Alter Ego broke the 100-point barrier for the second Gameweek in a row and for the third time in five Gameweeks.

He was one of three semi-finalists – including opponent Skogen89 – to use the Triple Captain chip on Sadio Mane, who returned 13 points in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield Town on Friday.

Skogen89 was unfortunate to be eliminated as his score of 87 would have been enough to win the other semi-final.

LOKOMOTIV ran out the winner in that last-four encounter, with opponent Ibra-gum the only manager not to have their Triple Captain chip intact and indeed handing the armband to Son Heung-min, who blanked against West Ham.

The semi-final results were as follows:

NameScoreRankNameScoreRank
Skogen898719320vsRotation’s Alter Ego1031280
Ibra-gum61147195vsLOKOMOTIV841859

As of the Gameweek 36 deadline, LOKOMOTIV and Rotation’s Alter Ego shared only six players: Hugo Lloris, Son Heung-min, Sadio Mane, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Raul Jimenez.

There is plenty of overlap in terms of team representation, though: LOKOMOTIV owns Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mathew Ryan, Yan Valery, Matt Doherty, Maya Yoshida and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg where Rotation’s Alter Ego has Andrew Robertson, Shane Duffy, Jan Bednarek, Willy Boly, Angus Gunn and Nathan Redmond.

Rotation’s Alter Ego’s main “differentials” are Wilfried Zaha, Diogo Jota and Aymeric Laporte, with LOKOMOTIV owning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Sead Kolasinac.

Neither manager has made any transfers yet (at the time of writing), nor do they have any chips remaining.

Ibra-gum and Skogen89 shared nine players in Gameweek 36 and again, neither manager has any chips remaining heading into their third-place play-off.

I am no body language expert but something is not right. I think he will be the big shock transfer during the summer and as a result of his sale, Liverpool will have a war chest to spend in order to get to the next level and trophies will follow.

A lot of nonsense being spouted tonight on here.

Liverpool were the better team tonight...hands down. Poor finishing, bad luck and a wonder goal has cost them.

This stuff happens sometimes in footie. Doesn't mean people can be righteous and smug about them losing. They absolutely bossed it tonight other than the final touch

        Haha, touché.

Entitled to your opinion. At least I am able to articulate my own in something that resembles coherent English...unlike some (not a pop at you fwiw)

I am not a Pool fan either for the record. I think it's easy to say Barca managed the game well and that I am talking nonsense when you can point to a 3-0 scoreline.

However, all it takes it for one of Mané or Milner's big sitters to go in at 1-0 and suddenly those arguments to fall apart.

I'm sure the Barca players will know they are very lucky to have won that game at all, let alone by 3 goals.

            So true.

I shouldn't take the bate and normally don't. I let myself get sucked in tonight as I am a fan of football and Liverpool played excellent and were undeserving of such a heavy defeat....in my 'humble' opinion

        1. F4L

Gomez hadn't started for over 3 months and then he's starting at the Nou Camp. Not sure that was the wisest decision.

Also the usage of Firmino was the major issue. Either he was injured and couldn't take part in the game, which didn't seem to be the case, so why leave him on the bench for so long. Wijnaldum wasn't working as a false 9.

Klopp had to be pro active; at the start of the second half Liverpool had Barca on the back foot and that's when Firmino should have entered the game, not by the time its 2-0 and the tie is practically over.

It's all conjecture though, and Klopp's the proffesional manager, so i'm sure he had his reasons for the handling of the game tonight.

            Fair points

By tactics I thought you meant high press etc. Which I thought he got spot on

Team selection wise, TAA was sorely missed in final third but I can see the logic in being defensively solid. I would have still gambled on TAA personally.

Do you find it as strange as I do though that the player who is widely considered the best right back in the league is not trusted in the away matches against big European clubs? It’s not like he is playing an old head there either.

    Things I learned tonight

Gomez is the best right back in the world on his day

Robertson is the best all round full back ever

Fabinho was the best player on the pitch

    Messi's reputation is tarnished forever

    Barca were lucky winners (3-0)

People talking such bullpoo on here

We played a fantastic game and had the upper hand a number of times. Especially at 1-0 we were in control. Really everyone played well. Gomez an excellent defender. Robbo is just sensational, he was everywhere. Fabinho central to all our movement and Salah and Mané both created plenty and came so close.

A wonder goal from Messi, yes. First goal was decent touch from Suarez. 2nd goal was just luck. We were extremely unlucky not to score.

Scoreline 100% not reflective of the match. Wait til we get them to Anfield - they’ve got a fight on their hands. Not an easy one. But we will pull something back.

Agree on most, fantastic game from Liverpool but 3-0 is too much I feel. 2-0 or 3-1 and I would have some hope

I agree it feels like a very big ask but it’s these moments in Europe where we thrive so I hope we can give it our best shot.

        Did you watch the match?

You seriously believe that scoreline reflects the match?

It’s like saying Pogba is back on top form because he scored a brace vs WHU but ignoring the fact he played like an oaf and both were pens.

Klopp's team is unlucky, really is.
EL final, CL final possibly 97 points without winning the league and in the end this result.

A game of chess with tactical mastermind from Klopp, but what else can he do with these midfielders. Milner and hendo good enough to kill the game but now to create, big blow Keita's and Firmino's injury. Still dominated the game

      No depth up front either.

They’re rarely out, but when they are, you can’t be turning to Origi/Shaqiri/Wijnaldum in a CL semi final.

Brilliant, improved season. Squad needs bolstering while keeping all the stars.

Completely agree, because we played wanyama on his own and he couldn't cope. When sissoko came on it changed straightaway.

                Winks was a massive loss.

I appreciate ajax could sit back more but looked vulnerable to both pace and aerial threat, unfortunately we had no quality in final 3rd.

    B) Ederson (LEI, bri)

What's with all the Pool fans harping about "being unlucky" not to score a goal? Yes, Liverpool were on the front foot for most part of the second half but the players weren't clinical enough when they needed to be ..More often than not CL ties are won by clinical players..There is no "luck" about it.. If you consider Pool not scoring to be unlucky by the same logic Barca were unlucky that the game did not end 5-0 at the very end.

Liverpool getting nothing out of the game is the same as Barca not somehow winning 5-0 despite not dominating the game? None of the logic on show here tonight extends to this rubbish.
