Fantasy managers who are looking at owning just one premium Liverpool midfielder in 2019/20 may face something of a dilemma.

The relaunch of Fantasy Premier League has seen the gap in price between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane narrow considerably.

The Egyptian has dropped to £12.5m while his teammate, who shared the Golden Boot with Salah in 2018/19, has risen to £11.5m.

The price gap between the two players was £3.5m at the start of 2018/19.

Owning both premium midfield options isn’t impossible, of course, but it would leave a shortfall of cash elsewhere and sacrifices would have to be made in other positions.

Given Manchester City’s favourable-looking run of matches from Gameweeks 1 to 11, many FPL bosses will be needing a considerable chunk of their £100m budget to acquire Raheem Sterling (£12.0m) and/or Sergio Aguero (£12.0m), too.

Liverpool’s opening eight fixtures are among the most appealing in the top flight and indeed the Reds sit second in our Season Ticker from Gameweeks 1 to 8.

Jurgen Klopp’s side face newly promoted Norwich City and Sheffield United during that run, as well as three teams who finished in the bottom eight of the top flight last season: Newcastle United, Burnley and Southampton.

The Gameweek 3 visit of Arsenal, who kept fewer away clean sheets than any Premier League club in 2018/19, is also enticing from an attacking perspective.

In this latest Members’ article, we will run a direct statistical comparison to weigh up the pros and cons of each asset.

As well as the usual goal threat and creativity comparisons, we’ll be assessing their record against ‘lesser’ sides (given Liverpool’s favourable run at the start of 2019/20) using our new Flat-Track Bully tool.

Get the Brighton goalies and save yourself £0.5m, decent fixtures at the start of the season.

I started last season like that and it didn't start well. Looks like that maybe the only 4.5/4.0 GK option though given that Eastwood at Shef United is 4.5 (assuming Henderson returns)

Wasn't going to play FPL this season beacuse of VAR, but decided to throw in a team of PK takers instead. Unless someone leaves or picks up an injury in pre-season, this is it!

    Pickford
    Robertson - TAA - Dunk
    Salah - Sigurdsson - Milivojevic - Noble
    Vardy - Kane - King

    Button, Lascelles, Hayden, Kelly

Backline looks viable. Both Digne and Coleman huh? Brave.
If Zaha gets that dream move to the top six, then he is straight in my team. A no brainer, that.
Those are horrendous bench players, though, goodness me.

Overall, no way you commit to that come GW1, but l a nice draft to build on.

Cannot dream of losing any of Sterling, KDB and Bilva. Wouldn’t bet against these being close to the top scoring mids this year. So many good defenders now and city’s early fixtures being tough defensively makes triple midfield the way to go?

    Lloris
    Robbo TAA Laporte Coleman Luiz
    KdB Zaha
    Kane Auba Jota

    4.0 4.5 4.5 4.5

The option is there to downgrade KdB to Siggy and get Ederson for the double double defence but I quite like the spread right now.

Rationale is Auba and Kane matched Sterling point for point first half last season and they dovetail home and away. I’m also avoiding Afcon players for 2/3 weeks.

    Let the RMTs begin!

    Heaton
    Robertson Laporte Coleman
    Salah Sterling Sigurdsson Moutinho
    Wilson Jota Calvert-Lewin

    Ryan Diop Norwood Rico

    0.0 ITB

Thoughts? Siggy or drop to 7.0 Madisson? Moutinho is on several set pieces, could be a nice value pick. Oliver Norwood looks a nice diffy pick for the start from the bench. The formation is flexible to allow 4-3-3, with Diop coming in. I personally rate DCL's chances of nailing that berth up top.

Moutinho looks as good as it gets at 5.5 but if either Barnes or Albrighton nail a spot they could contend. As it is double Wolves looks bold.
